Mort Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 Live Chat's where it's at - we've already finished off Mort's pizza And twas a damn fine pizza! ...stil some finest Belgian larger in the fridge if anyone's interested?
ASH17LCFC Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 Heskey MOTM for sure, great in the air and great at winning them vital knock ons. Why changed that team for wednesday ? Owen and Heskey best england partnership since the Teddy and Shearer. Crouch doesn't offer more then heskey if you think about it.

Mort Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 Live Chat = The Shit! Especially when there's only four or five people on it!
Joe. Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 Heskey Good performance, I hope he can cement a place for a while. Should have scored, but his overall performance for the team was very good.
AyewJoking Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 I think McLaren will play Crouch instead of Heskey against Russia. I'd be inclined to keep the same team.
Tommy G Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 At the end of the day Israel were very poor, expect a much stronger challenge against the Russians. I would drop Barry and swap him with Hargreaves to give us a bit of protection at the back. Other than that keep the same team. Micah's the man!!

ASH17LCFC Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 Whens the last time Hargreaves played for england ? Can't remember him playing since the world cup ...
davieG Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 Whens the last time Hargreaves played for england ? Can't remember him playing since the world cup ... Is he even 100% match fit?
ASH17LCFC Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 Is he even 100% match fit? I think he has played for UTD this season but went off with a knock.
Tommy G Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 Well he was touch and go today. I think SM knew he could have probably played today but saved him for stronger opposition on Wednesday
jingofin Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 I think he has played for UTD this season but went off with a knock. I'd switch Carrick for Barry for the same reason stated above, would give us more protection at the back and allow for Stevie Gerrard to go forward more. Heskey was excellent, he shouldn't be dropped for Crouch. Only problem I am expecting is that, if Lampard is fit, Mclaren is the kind of gutless **** that will try to force him into the team just because of his 'star status'. Lampard should never be played alongside Gerrard, even if he is 100% match fit. Ahh, and boss gave me Wednesday off work after much pestering so I will be going to Wembley for the Russia game, can't wait, hoping for more of the same. Will be on the National Express coach leaving from St. Margarets, anyone else gonna be on it??
lee7 Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 heskey was good today. i hope he is in the team for the russia game and not dropped for crouch.
Durnerz Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 We work much better as an attacking unit, Carrick slows us down with his crab like style passing sideways and backwards, Barry impressed me a lot today, tracked back well and gave us much more creativity than Lampard has in the past year in one match. He should keep his place, if it doesn't work or we're in the lead and under pressure then bring on Hargreaves.
Flynny Posted 8 September 2007 Posted 8 September 2007 Barry had a good game today, certainly. He was solid and dependable. Unfortunately he did the exact same job as Hargreaves who I (and I suspect others) rate more highly. Better than Carrick, though, at least for England.
Simon Posted 9 September 2007 Posted 9 September 2007 If there's any justice, that 11 should start on Wednesday- how can you drop a team that plays that well together? I'm sure McClaren will find a way to squeeze Carrick or Crouch in, but surely the old adage of 'it ain't broke don't fix it' should stand? Glad Heskey had a good game- should shove the critics' comments back down their throats! Should have scored though, early on!
Simi Posted 9 September 2007 Posted 9 September 2007 Well done to Heskey, I thought he had a very good game. Held the ball up very well throughout the game and maybe should of bagged one in the first half, but he put it over! Hopefully he'll carry on and play Wednesday if McLaren doesn't decide to put Crouch back into the side.
Tevez Posted 9 September 2007 Posted 9 September 2007 Players that stood out for me: Micah Richards. This kid is awesome, to see his engine of catching some Israeli guy and making a tackle. Brilliant. Also pleased that Heskey and Owen had a partnership again, Israel didn't have a prayer. Wright-Phillips, lets make use of his capabilities and Gareth Barry, well, if we play Villa in the cup, he will rule the show.
Anish Posted 9 September 2007 Posted 9 September 2007 Got to stick with the same 11. Barry played well and I don't see any reason why he should be dropped for a less-than 100% Hargreaves. Heskey should've cemented his place in the team with a solid performance. Lampard shouldn't walk straight in either.
