Head Honcho Posted 2 September 2007 Posted 2 September 2007 Well done Emile. No one's dropped out so it must be him and Owen up front.
Simon Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Excellent news really. Can't think of a better ENGLISH big man right now. I'm sure the stories about Owen wanting him are true- the two play really well together. Hope he starts and shoves the fans complaints back down their throats...
Ric Flair Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 He will score on Saturday and the media will be toadying up to big Emile. I hope he drops the shoulder on a few of them.
Milky Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 He will score on Saturday and the media will be toadying up to big Emile. I hope he drops the shoulder on a few of them. Alan Mullery has been slagging Emile off big time on Sky Sports News. Bit over the top really.
Koke Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Joleon "I have a super hair cut" Lescott have also been drafted into the England squad after Sol Campbell withdrew.

Perhaps Mac may survive after all...
Manwell Pablo Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 I bet we're the only set of fans in the country that think this is a good idea. Lescott got a call up today, unbelivable really.
Flynny Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 I bet we're the only set of fans in the country that think this is a good idea. Possibly. I told my dad he should be partnering Owen four days ago and he nearly choked me, though, and he's a Leicester fan. When I told him he'd been called up he just went "oh".
Wils Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 I hope he plays well. If he doesnt, big Steve will take some abuse.
Mort Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 I bet we're the only set of fans in the country that think this is a good idea. Expect so, then again means we can be smug when he scores/set up Owen to score against Israel Best player to have alongside Owen IMHO, Defoe isnt right for it at the moment (if only he was at club where he could get regular games!) and Rooney and Crouch never complemented Owen's style of play, so with Bent out that leaves you with AJ and Emile... know who I'd go with!
Gené and Tonic Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Rumour is McLaren asked Owen who he wanted to be his strike partner and Owen said Heskey
Ashley Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 Whys the thread name Hesky in the England Squad? Not Heskey in the England squad?
Nick Posted 3 September 2007 Posted 3 September 2007 I bet we're the only set of fans in the country that think this is a good idea.Lescott got a call up today, unbelivable really. Check out the stats for this season and last in fantasy football competitions. Lescott in the Telegraph FF is in the top five choices. I agree he is a value for money choice, though he has acrued more points than some very big names and has done so consistantly. Check it out Manwell. N.
Raj Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 Good luck Emile...All (Well most!) of Leicester is behind you!
Darkzzz_ Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 Glad to see bruno back in.... he did do ok for england when called upon... McClaren should stop picking players on there reputation and get the players in that do well for there clubs.... Heskey always did ok with owen and if he is playing well at wigan then why not get him in... There are a few others i would pick over a few of our so called biger named stars....
lildave3 Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 That donkey is in the England squad! I really hope you're joking. Can't believe what Alan Mullery said about him the other day aswell. ****er.
escape2victory Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 I really hope you're joking. Can't believe what Alan Mullery said about him the other day aswell. ****er. I can remember Mullery when he used to be on that Soccer Saturday. What an ignorant, self opinionated twat he came across as. Always used to slag off Leicester under the O'Neill days, because we didnt play pretty Tottenham football. His main argument is that Heskey has only scored 5 goals in 40 internationals. If he wasnt so narrow minded, he could see how many Heskey had a hand in creating and that Englands record is very good when Heskey is in the team.
Joe. Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 Yeah and he scored this goal against us (Well at least I think it was ). <_<
Geo V Posted 4 September 2007 Posted 4 September 2007 Heskey is just one of the many players that the tabloids took a dislike to and they have tried and successfully managed to ruin his career during a period where the England strikers on the whole are shite. I still think he is more of a handful than someone like Darren Bent and he is capable of dominating world class players like he did against Argentina. He is back in now according to reports that Michael Owen wanted him in (probably more tabloid crap) but I fill he has wasted a couple of years of his International career because of the ever increasing power of Fleet Street. If youa re not liked by them then your days are numbered, ask Sven!
sdb Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 Alan Mullery is a complete ****. Heskey's won a larger percentage of games with England than most of the current regulars. The 5 in 40 odd stat is misleading too seeing as he played half of them on the left or as a sub to try and hold up the ball, keep time etc. He's just a scapegoat and pundits who want to be popular conform to this narrow minded idea - i.e. Mullery.
breadandcheese Posted 6 September 2007 Posted 6 September 2007 I agree with Chris Kirkland. Heskey is England's Didier Drogba. Big, powerful, strong, quick. If Heskey starts he will batter the Israeli defence. I still do not understand the pillorising that Heskey has to endure. He is not a goalscorer, but he adds so much to a team.

When God made Didier Drogba, he had a few gos first and Emile was one of the early efforts.
