Felt rough as fvck all day a couple of pints down soar point yesterday ended up being 10 pints of snake bite.

Had to apologise to a couple of girls I know for sending then suggestive Facebook messages last night. Checking my online backing and seeing how much I've spent has also not helped my mood.

Feel sorry for my Sister. Turns 18 this week (fvck off Weasel if you're reading this) and she's absolutely skint for it. Why? Because of constant messing around from potential employers. Giving her bullshit about how they'll 'get in touch' etc... it amazes me how little consideration so many of them have. Happy to keep people on their own 'waiting list' if you like, rather than telling people the truth (ie, there's fvck all) and allowing them to move on. Absolutely woeful in my opinion.

Very grateful for my current one. Everything about them has been sound as, so far anyway. Can't knock my managers at all.

I'm not one to defend obvious scroungers but you can see why there are a lot of youngsters who can't be arsed. It's like a constant lose/lose.

There seem to be an awful lot of "apprenticeships" cropping up that really don't strike me as how I'd see an apprenticeship should be. To me it should be to do with something that is skilled labour but there a lot that look like unskilled jobs and an employer just looking for a young person that they can pay £2.68 an hour instead of the proper minimum wage.

I don't know if the economy is really recovering but job quality doesn't seem to improved an awful lot yet. It's still a buyers market.

I know that feeling. Always seems like a superb idea at the time.

Got the DNO Xmas dinner today. Should be good. Don't know where we are going yet. Thursday is last radio show before the new year. Still not got a new venue for it. It will carry on in some form though.

Thought I'd stick this in here.

Last day of this offer at Matalan.

Spend anything up to £50 - get 20% off using online code XFF320

Spend over £50 - get 30% using online code XFF330

Offer is also available in store - but you need a copy of the voucher which can be taken from Matalan's Facebook site I believe.

Bear in mind that if you do shop online, you can also use Click & Collect - have your items delivered to store totally free of charge and pick it up whenever you like.

Not somewhere I would shop but might be worth it for dirt cheap prices, goes to show theres no reason people have to look so scruffy, look at the prices.

Might of had the heritage blazer but its 2 buttons...that's a no no.

Probably pick a couple of the smarter shirts to knock around in, cheers Stan.

My pleasure.

I don't mean to come across as show-offy or arrogant, but I think places like Matalan are still under-rated by some. Good quality products for reasonable prices.

I'm on one now which I finish in May, not sure where I stand after it but even if I don't get taken on here, I've got a years experience in 6 different places (all summer), which'll look good. Experience seems to be the thing they crave but how do you get experience if no-one will give you any to start with? It's a poor system in my opinion.

Apprenticeships are limited but they're not bad at all. I'm on about £600 a month which isn't amazing but it's good compared to what I was on (JSA), but it's definitely bred some complacency with spending from me lol It's because of my age that I get more though. It'd be hard for her because she's at college and wants to go to uni next year.

The latest one with her was Pizza Hut. She even did a trial shift there and they said they'd let her know and guess how many times they rang her back? Some figure somewhere between -1 and 1. Appalling. She even went in twice and they promised calls back but still, nothing. It really does piss me off because I know exactly how she feels and it's starting to seriously get to her I think.

Oh well. It's her 18th tomorrow and Christmas soon so I hope the Jager I've got her softens the blow lol

don't know exactly what she's looking for but my advice to her would be to sign on to 5 or 6 agencies and take what she can. That's what I've had to do and although it can be frustrating and reliable you can get lucky every now and again. I'm in a place now that could lead to a permanent position.

Don't know if that helps

Yeh it does help a bit so cheers. Although having done both agency and apprentice work I genuinely prefer the latter. I signed up to an agency, got work within a week, had arranged lifts with someone there, had settled in, had a day at the place doing all the H/S stuff etc... within a week I was out of a job due to 'no longer being needed' and that was that.

I wonder if Ken made his move on that certain someone.

Hope so, a lovely DNO kiss under the mistletoe (or whatever the cheaper alternative is to it)

A kiss under a reduced can of baked beans.

With an ALDI bag as a Santa Hat.

Came 3rd in the pub quiz I went to. Some proper obtuse questions! Think we did well to come 3rd out of about 12 though.

Love a good pub quiz.

Doctor has put me on some steroids to get rid of my cough since anti-biotics didn't work. Might use this as an excuse to go on my rowing machine while I'm taking them to get some more arm muscle, it's not cheating, honest!
