Free Falling Foxes Posted 29 September 2007 Posted 29 September 2007 Something has gone on big time behind the scenes for so many of the new signings not to get a chance. Curses to that confidentiality clause
Basingstoke Fox Posted 29 September 2007 Posted 29 September 2007 Motherwell lmao!! lol Ill go for Fulop Chambers McAuley Ngotty Kisnorbo Mattock Kaebi - even though it feels like we wont EVER see him play Clemence Fereirra or however you spell it - same as Kaebi! Hume Fryatt Henderson Stearman Djezeri (or however you spell it ) Campbell and De vries
Geo V Posted 30 September 2007 Posted 30 September 2007 Just like we gave MA a few games to work out his players, I hope that GM is getting there. If I look at the starting line-up and it includes Chambers in midfield and Cort up front with Hume on the bench, I will then know that a long hard season lies ahead as he would have learned nothing. I`ll select a team that I think he will select, from what I have seen from his previous selections and from what I have read in his comments. FULOP STEARMAN N`GOTTY KISNORBO MATTOCKCHAMBERS KISHISHEV CLEMENCE SHEEHANFRYATT HUME I wont bother putting my preferred side up as the likes of Kaebi and Ferriera don't look like they are anywhere near the side at the moment.
mancunianfox Posted 30 September 2007 Posted 30 September 2007 Team for Wolves would be --------------------Fulop--------------------- ---------Kisnorbo--N'Gotty--McAuley------ -Chambers-------------------------Mattock- ----------Kishishev------Clemence--------- --------------------Hume--------------------- ---------------Fryatt--De Vries-------------- Bench: Henderson, Stearman, Kaebi, Cort, Campbell

Lillehamring Posted 30 September 2007 Posted 30 September 2007 fulop n'gotty - mcauley - kisnorbostearman ----------------------------- mattockchambers - clemence - sheehanfryatt - humebench: hendo, campbell, king, keabi, kish that's what i'd like from what i've heard. think he'll stick with stearman cause he's been impressed with him, and chambers cause he knows him. possible he may persevere with cort, if so hume in midfield at the expense of sheehan.
Sparky Posted 30 September 2007 Posted 30 September 2007 ----------------- Fulop-- Stearman N'Gotty Kisnorbo - Kaebi -------------------------Mattock --------------- Clemence ------- Ferreira ------- Hume ---------- Fryatt Campbell Subs: Henderson, Sheehan, King, Djeziri, Sappleton We are playing too many of last seasons squad. STOP GIVING BAD RUBBISH CHANCE AFTER CHANCE AFTER CHANCE. (Yes, it's doing my nut in.) wouldnt that side be great to watch , shame it will never happen
Fez of Mahrez Posted 30 September 2007 Posted 30 September 2007 Team for Wolves would be--------------------Fulop--------------------- ---------Kisnorbo--N'Gotty--McAuley------ -Chambers-------------------------Mattock- ----------Kishishev------Clemence--------- --------------------Hume--------------------- ---------------Fryatt--De Vries-------------- Bench: Henderson, Stearman, Kaebi, Cort, Campbell That's what I will be hoping to see. Wouldn't mind if he plays Stearman ahead of Chambers at right wing-back and I suppose at a push would even cope with Chambers playing in midfield instead of Kishishev as long as I get to see that front three.
l444ry Posted 30 September 2007 Posted 30 September 2007 I reckon it would be justice of the sweetest kind if some of the Captain Mainwaring armchair managers on here were to run their local school, park, village or sunday sides for a month. And when they find out that managing is a little bit more complex than sticking 11 random names down on a sheet without taking the opponents into consideration, they can all go and post on the local forum complaining about how the manager is crap and doesn't deserve anyone's support unless it's earned.

That's all well and good but it's not the best timing when Megson obviously thought that his tactic of playing Cort and de Vries would be the best way to counter Stoke's physicality when he should have just stuck with a winning team. This bollocks about Fryatt and Hume being tired was blown out of the water when they came on and looked more lively in the 45 minutes they were on than anyone did in the first half.

However, have you looked at some of the chosen sides above? I'm sure they'd solve the problems................not!!

davieG Posted 1 October 2007 Author Posted 1 October 2007 The queation is who is he going to play up front against Wolves. By his own reckoning MDV & DJ weren't putting in the effort/good enough. Surely he can't be thinking of playing and Fryatt and Hume they were too knackered to play Saturday, now they have they can't be up to another 90 minutes 3 days later? Elvis is injured! I believe that leaves Cort who seems to have escaped all criticism and one or two of the Academy.

Thracian Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Megson doesn't want to lose this game. He's built in no insurance so far as the League is concerned. Trying to adapt a Megson outlook to conjure a winning team is not easy. Likely team: Fulop; McAuley, N'Gotty, Kisnorbo; Stearman, Clemence, Kishishev, Mattock; Hume, Cort, Fryatt. Workmanlike. Very little creativity. Only 4.5 potential scorers, not enough. No pace. No free-kick specialist. Vulnerable on the floor. Draw again the best we're likely to get. Megson is described on Wikipaedia as "a journeyman" footballer and seems to be carrying that into management. I used to hope Levein and Kelly would change but I don't even consider that now. People are what they are. Megson will go from club to club being utterly professional but never changing the world. If he wants to prove me wrong I'll be delighted but being obsessed with defence won't do it. Eight defenders and three attackers is no way forward. PS: Interesting how I picked Cort without knowing MDV had gone to Leeds. Seemed perfectly clear which one of the two he favoured. I actually see it as a positive move because MDV didn't show signs of being a 15 goals a season guy. But unless he's got a replacement lined up it's a risky decision right now because, should Cort get injured - and it's not unheard of - we'll have an entirely lightweight attack. Unless big Sapp rises like a Phoenix.

The People's Hero Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 A team full of Porters should sort it. He's injured - according to young Richie Stearman. ps Say hi if you're reading Rich.
