Mark Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Clemence is injured, I dread to think what the midfield will be tomorrow. Holding onto hope that Ferreira isn't missing from the Reserves due to an injury.

Watching them both play together in the reserves a few times, i'm not quite sure who i'd prefer. King may actually just edge it slightly. For what it's worth neither seem ready for regular first team action. I would've actually played Adda Djaziri in an attacking midfield role.

Kaebi played there for his club in Iran I reckon, obviously we aren't going to get that but still. I can see us getting walked all over tomorrow.
Babylon Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Birch said on the Moan in it will be a surprise selection to replace Clemence... Come on down Andy King.

Same here. Wolves will surely be too strong for us It really does depend whether Megson gets his team selection right though. I'm pretty sure he'll get it right and Hume and Fryatt will start though. We'll see...

Ben Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Fulop N'Gotty Kisnorbo McAuley Kaebi Kishishev Clemence Ferreira Hume Fryatt Campbell

Wycombe Fox Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Shilton Whitworth Munro Cross Rofe Weller Sammels Birchenall Glover Worthington Earle Subs: Wallington, Blockley, Woollett, Lee, Garland Go on Gary give them a ring (apart from Weller of course RIP)
Father Ted Posted 1 October 2007 Posted 1 October 2007 Megson doesn't want to lose this game. He's built in no insurance so far as the League is concerned. Trying to adapt a Megson outlook to conjure a winning team is not easy. Likely team: Fulop; McAuley, N'Gotty, Kisnorbo; Stearman, Clemence, Kishishev, Mattock; Hume, Cort, Fryatt. Workmanlike. Very little creativity. Only 4.5 potential scorers, not enough. No pace. No free-kick specialist. Vulnerable on the floor. Draw again the best we're likely to get. Megson is described on Wikipaedia as "a journeyman" footballer and seems to be carrying that into management. I used to hope Levein and Kelly would change but I don't even consider that now. People are what they are. Megson will go from club to club being utterly professional but never changing the world. If he wants to prove me wrong I'll be delighted but being obsessed with defence won't do it. Eight defenders and three attackers is no way forward. PS: Interesting how I picked Cort without knowing MDV had gone to Leeds. Seemed perfectly clear which one of the two he favoured. I actually see it as a positive move because MDV didn't show signs of being a 15 goals a season guy. But unless he's got a replacement lined up it's a risky decision right now because, should Cort get injured - and it's not unheard of - we'll have an entirely lightweight attack. Unless big Sapp rises like a Phoenix. We need Thrac as manager
davieG Posted 1 October 2007 Author Posted 1 October 2007 Andy king was in the crowd at the reserves and reckons he's in the sqaud and whoever suggested Adda for the first team Ha, a complete waste of space, he might just make it into a circus act, all la di da and no substance, mind you he throws a mean left hook.

I bet Adda is just fed up of playing for Leicester reserves. The lad probably can't wait to get out of here.
Thracian Posted 2 October 2007 Posted 2 October 2007 I bet Adda is just fed up of playing for Leicester reserves. The lad probably can't wait to get out of here. His feelings don't matter it's his football that counts. And it wouldn't have convinced a non-league scout tonight. I'm fairly sure though that Andy King will start tonight, especially in view of Clemence's injury. If so I wish him well. He'll be joining a decent list in recent years and has served his time to get there. It may be a bit earlier than he expected given the amount of transfer activity pre-season but he's deserved a chance. He's not flash. He works hard, tries to do the simple things quickly and has an eye for a shot. He can head the ball in attacking or defensive situations and, if he gives a reasonable account of himself, is probably far more of a Megson type of player than some of the others touted recently.

mancunianfox Posted 2 October 2007 Posted 2 October 2007 In light of Clemence's injury then the team will probably be something along the lines of: ------------------Fulop------------------- ------McAuley---N'Gotty--Kisnorbo---- Chambers-----------------------Mattock ------------Kishishev---King------------- ------------------Hume------------------- --------------Fryatt--Cort---------------- Bench: Henderson, Stearman, Hellings, Sheehan, Campbell We REALLY need Kish to step up tonight.

Considering the influential players we are missing for tonight, I think that side is the best we could hope for. Its not ideal to play 5 in defence at home but as long as the wingbacks are more adventurous we should do OK. BTW I cant see Stearman losing his place in the side after GM`s midweek comments and with MDV going, I agree he`ll persevere with Cort.

Most probably he will play Stearman, I would leave him on the bench for this game though. I also forget about Newton who will probably make it onto the subs bench.

mancunianfox Posted 2 October 2007 Posted 2 October 2007 ItDoesn't Matter Wolves Are Going To Slaughter Us Oh Dear We thought that Villa would too. I think most people didn't think we'd getting three points out of Watford either. I am worried about playing Barnsley or Colchester than Wolves. They are the kind of team we tend to do well against. Wolves are a good side and everyone is raving about them but they are currently 12th with eleven points. Thats only four more than us and we have a game in hand. Our defence is looking better than at any point this season and we currently have the third best defensive record in the league. not only that but Wolves have only scored ten in eight which isn't that much greater than our eight in seven. Whilst we do need to start scoring more goals Fryatt has looked good in his last couple of games and Hume has already proved that he is more than capable of getting goals in this division. I don't see any reason why we can't win this game and certainly none to be THAT negative.

Did you attend Leicester City Vs Wolverhampton Wanderers last season becasue I did, the only reason I didn't have a break down after that game is because I thought that would be an end to the dross. However 7 games is it? 7 points, the clubs in a mess with more dead wood than ever, a manager few of us have any confidence in! And no league win since August 25th. Besides when I'm this negative we normally go on and win so leave me to it, Bert didn't start the match thread so we need something.
