Asha Posted 19 October 2007 Posted 19 October 2007 i read something somewhere that he hadn't actually signed his contract It's a joke. We need consistency. Five-year contracts to all the staff with a clause saying they can be sacked if they are absolute shite. There's no way we are going to progress with a different manager each month.

Micky Ruddle Posted 19 October 2007 Posted 19 October 2007 I actually don't want him to go anywhere...yet If he goes, thats 2 managers in the space of so many months. We would actually be a laughing stock, for not able to keep a manger for half a year. And Milan...

Dames Posted 19 October 2007 Posted 19 October 2007 Still surely you believe Megson will take us up and win us the premiership ? We don't like ANTI-MEGSON talk round here. They guy is a master tactician and you gotta get behind him.GINGER MOURINHO !!! Your actually boring now.
Thracian Posted 19 October 2007 Posted 19 October 2007 Because Bolton have asked to talk to him doesn't mean they would necessarily offer him the job if they got the chance. But would any manager seriously turn down a chance to manage a Premiership side in favour of remaining at a club who's chances of promotion this season are a long shot and who have a chairman you probably know won't have much patience if you hit a run of bad form. Okay, MM rescued Megson from his spell out of the game but there's no indication he had a million choices and that it wasn't just mutually convenient. This could pan out one way or the other but if I were MM I'd be considering both eventualities.
Master Fox Posted 19 October 2007 Posted 19 October 2007 Bolton are the Matty Fryatt of the premier league

I think MM will break contracts when it suites him ( ala MA) but they are water tight when it doesnt. I dont think he would accept Megsons resignation even if it was offered...
Chairman of the Bored Posted 20 October 2007 Posted 20 October 2007 "I'm a great believer in loyalty, trust and integrity. "Gary made a commitment to this club, the supporters and myself and I fully expect him to honour that commitment." He added: "I therefore have no doubts in my own mind that Gary will reiterate his commitment when he talks publicly in the next 48 hours.........." An alleged Mandy quote from the bbcnews.co.uk website. In lieu of Allen, quite ironic I'd say.

izzetafox? Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 Gary Megson, Graeme Souness and John Collins are really the ones on the Bolton shortlist. (Daily Mirror) I hate to quote the sun but...it states that last night Mandaric was considering a second approach from Bolton for Megson
ousefox Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 Bolton want Megson as new manager Megson is a hard taskmaster Leicester manager Gary Megson is the front-runner to become the new Bolton manager, BBC Sport understands. Graeme Souness was interviewed for the post last week but Bolton chairman Phil Gartside has confirmed the Scot is not interested in succeeding Sammy Lee. Now Gartside looks set to turn to Megson and he is believed to be prepared to pay £300,000 to get him. Bolton are understood to want to make an appointment before Sunday's Premier League match against Aston Villa. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/e...rem/7058362.stm

Fox in a Box Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 Bottom of skysportsnews says we have rejected a second approach Official Club Statement Posted on: Tue 23 Oct 2007 BOLTON WANDERERS FOOTBALL CLUB Chairman Phil Gartside has issued the following statement in respect of the Club's current situation in its search for a new manager. "The process to find the next manager is on-going. We have identified our key targets and we have had interest from other people in the game. We hope to be in a position to conclude the process as soon as possible, but we will take our time to make sure we make the right appointment to take us forward. "The right candidate for the job is someone who has strong management skills as well as football experience. Article continues Advertisement "It is a complex job to find the ideal candidate to take the Club forward in the long-term. It is a process we are working tirelessly to resolve. The range of skills required for the right successor to take us forward makes the appointment a difficult task. "We are well aware that we are in a difficult position in the league at present. However, we believe we have a talented squad of players, who can help us achieve our immediate objective of being a successful Premier League side. We all believe that the squad possesses the right blend of experience and skill to get us through our current situation. "As reported today, Graeme Souness was a candidate on our target list and he has now decided to remove himself from the interview process. Having interviewed him last week, I know he would have been an exceptional candidate for the role. However, I respect Graeme's decision to pull out of the process and I wish him well for the future. "At no time in the process have we discussed our business in the public domain. We feel that this is a confidential matter that should be dealt with privately at all times. It is disappointing that our dealings have been played out in the full glare of the media. "For the record, Mark Curtis is assisting the club in the process of finding the suitable candidate for the job. He is not representing any of the people on our target list."
The People's Hero Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 Now Gartside looks set to turn to Megson and he is believed to be prepared to pay £300,000 to get him. Christ, things must be bad at Bolton. I wonder where they're going to play him?

Unbelivable.
Guest Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 Why didn't Gartside take the risk on Megson himself after Allardyce left Bolton?
