The People's Hero Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 Why didn't Gartside take the risk on Megson himself after Allardyce left Bolton? Because Gartside is an idiot.
Tabou Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 Is anybody else not absoloutly shocked that Paul Jewell hasn't already been appointed? I thought this would be the PERFECT role for him. Bang goes my £10 bet at Ladbrokes....

Ric Flair Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 He'll be at The Rams come Friday Big Billy about to be booted? Perfect. Megson goes to Bolton, Davies comes to us and you can have Jewell (who still isn't ready to move back in to management) or any of the other usual suspects.
teblin Posted 23 October 2007 Author Posted 23 October 2007 He'll be at The Rams come Friday On good authority? I live over in derbyshire, not heard any wispers yet.
joely22 Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 On good authority?I live over in derbyshire, not heard any wispers yet. Just a whisper. Doubt it'll happen. I know that we offered him the job sometime last week. Might be something to do with Trevor Birch (ex Chief Exec.) going. Something's going on at the moment though.
OriginalRobboFOX Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 On good authority?I live over in derbyshire, not heard any wispers yet. Take the £300k...... Gamble!!

But I reckon that whatever's happening at PP at the mo is in relation to the takeover / investment.
ASH17LCFC Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 Possibly. But I reckon that whatever's happening at PP at the mo is in relation to the takeover / investment. I heard around last year, that the people who own Derby now are loaded. On the ram message board they where talking about having around a billion pounds if they all put their money together. You signed a few players last year for more then a million. What has happened to you lot then ?

ASH17LCFC Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 I know, thats what i was like but they where so sure about being loaded. Said that 5 million is loose change to them ... They reckon if all their shareholders put there cash together they would be nearly worth around a billion squid.
MPH Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 the story on the bbc website today about him being the front runner doesnt make any sense. In One sentance it is saying he hasnt signed a contract yet and in the other sentance it is saying they are willing to pay 300k for him as compensation. You dont have to pay compensation for someone who is not under contract. I have posted this before , but as i understand it, Megson signed a one year deal with the option on both sides to extend the deal for another 2 years. im guessing the 2 years is what the BBC is on about when it says he hasnt signed it yet and the one year deal is what will cost the 300k....

PAULCFC Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 After that......i've got a full tank of petrol and can get to Bolton in 2 hours. If your reading this Mr Megson.
FilboFox Posted 23 October 2007 Posted 23 October 2007 Well it would seem Bolton are definitely determined to get him... I don't think Milan will reject a big compensation deal if they want him... they said they would be willing to pay around 300,000 for him to join Bolton... would that be enough to tempt Milan? Personally I don't think Milan has run the club very well so far and has made some VERY poor decisions but hopefully all will change soon and things will start picking up!

The way Megson organises his teams he must either love money or hate football. He's had his moments but, the Forest game apart, it has been depressing to watch. I wouldn't get rid on results grounds but I would never have appointed him in the first place on football grounds.

Why not? Seven points from seven league games is relegation form. Not even Levein or Kelly were quite THAT bad!
Thracian Posted 24 October 2007 Posted 24 October 2007 Why not?Seven points from seven league games is relegation form. Not even Levein or Kelly were quite THAT bad! Because he's not really had the chance to introuduce his own signings and far too many of his inherited options are ordinary players at best,
Dames Posted 24 October 2007 Posted 24 October 2007 Because he's not really had the chance to introuduce his own signings and far too many of his inherited options are ordinary players at best, Yet these ordinary players looked like they were decent under the previous management. His own signings? I don't really fancy Scott Dobie and about 7 more defensive players thanks.
fox123 Posted 24 October 2007 Posted 24 October 2007 Because he's not really had the chance to introuduce his own signings and far too many of his inherited options are ordinary players at best, They didn't look that ordinary beating Watford 4-1
