Greenwalker Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 Plymouth are lame. Nobody gives a shit about Plymouth or their fans. Look at the league positions. Enough said His quotes about knowing nothing about it were a good week before anything happened. There is no quote you could bring out that can prove he did or didn't know about any interest. So to hate him for that reason seems a bit pointless as nobody except him his agent and Milan would know. Remember when he denied it your chairman also denied having any contact with us. When we did contact your board they told IH, he missed training, asked to go to the interview, it was denied and he quit. I can understand people being annoyed at losing him your end, but the hate people now have really amazes me. Just because he left doesn't mean he didn't mean what he said about Plymouth, but he can't be there for ever and he sees this for what it is... a big opportunity. Yeah i understand what your saying but some of the stuff i have heared has left me with the opinion of him being a hypocrite however some of the stuff i have heared on PASOTI has more then likely been shit anyway. Yeah i have no doupt Holloway has made a good desicion here moving to Leicester after all he has to provide for his family and all that...
Babylon Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 That is all true, but you can't deny the hypocrisey of the situation. I can and I do.
Raj Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 You can still love an ex girlfriend but marry someone else...cant you???? Oh......er.....
Manwell Pablo Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 I can and I do. How? , you can't stand there and say I love this place I would never leave for Leicester don't be silly it's all a rumour. Just to do a complete U turn when you find out that oh hold on, they actually do want me as manager, right **** you lot I'm off! Like I say I don't really care but he's said one thing and done the complete opposit.

Like I say I don't really care but he's said one thing and done the complete opposit. I can because he never actually said most of what you just wrote. Every QUOTE just said he knew nothing about it, lots of managers have been linked with the Leicester job, they must be doing well for people to be looking their way. The newspaper and website story headings said he had rubbished it/turned it down, but the quotes never backed that up from any story that I saw... and I saw most of them.

No babs the only thing he didn't actually say that I've written there was "I'm not leaving for Leicester" He did say it was just a rumour, and he did say he was in love Plymouth!

It was a rumour at the time, also he may well have loved plymouth. It doesn't make him a hypocrite in my eyes for wanting to better himself. I love a Kebab on a night out... but if someone offers me a slap up curry it's goodbye Kebab hello jewell in the crown.
davieG Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 From the BBc Last Updated: Friday, 23 November 2007, 16:13 GMT Holloway defends Leicester move By Chris Charles Holloway started his managerial career at Bristol Rovers New Leicester manager Ian Holloway has defended his decision to walk out on former club Plymouth. Pilgrims fans are angry at what they see as a betrayal but Holloway insisted he had done everything by the book. He told BBC Sport: "My chairman wouldn't give me permission to talk to Leicester, so I resigned. "It was a massive gamble but it would have been a bigger gamble to lie to Plymouth and tell them my heart was still in it and take a new contract." Now I'm just trying to build a team, not a ground and a training ground as well Ian Holloway Holloway was unveiled as Leicester's new manager on Thursday and admitted he was stunned by events over the last few days. "I'm still a bit shell-shocked, but that's life," he said. "It all happened very quickly but there was a lot of dialogue before that between myself and my chairman which hasn't been documented. "He spoke to me and said: 'I've just had someone ring up from Leicester asking if they could speak to you - how do you feel about it?' "So I got off the phone, went home to think about it, rang him back and told him how I felt. The only lies were that we weren't allowed to say I'd had permission turned down Ian Holloway "I felt I'd like the opportunity to meet Milan and have a chat, which caused a rift, and it was never going to be the same after that because that's not the answer my chairman wanted. "My feeling was that I wanted to do it and I wanted to talk, whether I got it or not. It was a risk but what I didn't want to do was not be as committed to Plymouth as I have been. "I'm driven by ambition. I'm not being disloyal, but my ambition didn't match Plymouth's. "Unfortunately there's been a lot of stick flying about - 'Hollowhead' and that. I meant all the things I said about Plymouth at the time, but sometimes in life things change. "As a football manager you've got a briefcase and you've got your family and you're going to drag them around on your backside. "We're going to have to all move up to Leicestershire now because my wife was abused in Morrisons supermarket on Thursday. They said 'what's it like living with a liar?' - and I'm not putting up with that. "The only lies were that we weren't allowed to say I'd had permission turned down. "It's nobody's fault. I love Plymouth and I love the chairman and he's going to go on and do a brilliant job but now I'm just trying to build a team, not a ground and a training ground as well, and I hope people will see it that way."

Matt Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 Well probably to be fair. Has anyone seen his BBC column bbc Fook me, He's crazy, He rambles about everything! ...I like it! Luckily for me I met Milan Mandaric the night after I resigned and by the following morning he was obviously sold on the little muppet! What if Milan had come out and said "Well actually I wanted Glenn Hoddle and I ended up with Holloway." How crazy a situation is that?
Alexikokopops Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007  No, it was before that. Although Alex seemed to having similar problems with some girl and ended up marrying her the next day. I'm actually technically properly engaged to a [different] girl. I figured this out yesterday. Worrying stuff.

Tevez Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 How can it be an illegal approach for Holloway, if a compensation package has been agreed?
Greenwalker Posted 23 November 2007 Posted 23 November 2007 How can it be an illegal approach for Holloway, if a compensation package has been agreed? Leicester illegally approched holloway before he resigned?!?
