Hahah "All that there, I bet you were calling my mam a slag or something."

"You could earn a lot of money by letting them test nuclear bombs in north Wales"

If the winds blowing towards Ireland, I fully agree.

... bit strong.

I should probabley add, I'm not being entirley serious, I don't actually think North Wales should be turned into a Nuclear testing area. :giggle:

Chemcal weapons prehaps.

I'm half welsh and half English.

Lifes not fair.

So do you hate yourself?

Much like Michael Owen, but we haven't forgotten...

I don't neglect it because i hate the welsh or i'm patriotic about being english.

Just that my wankstain of a biological father was welsh so thats why.

So to answer my question - 2002 the last time you won anything. Ourselves? 2005.

Cool. Thanks. And the last time we played you in a tournament match? Oh yes...

Sort of sounds like a "Leeds United" type argument that Finners. The world cup was a catastrophic underachievement for the Welsh

Yes, yes it was.

But two years ago isn't exactly decades back, it was the same crop of players, bar two or so retirements, and James Hook. What's changed is a host of back room issues, poor coaching and general instability from the prima donas of the squad. The players or how good or bad they are hasn't.

The last two times i've been to Wales have been family holidays. On both occasions, we experienced quite a bit of abuse for being English, and these were a few years ago now so you're talking about a family with kids.

The first time, i was extremely sick first night after eating some meal. Now i'm never sick, so they clearly gave me dodgey goods. The second time, my younger bro was badly sick after eating in some shitty Welsh pub, and again, judging by the shifty discussions at the bar, those bastards meant to do him over.

As soon as they pick up the accent, the shifty activity happens. You can feel the resentment. That's all without mentioning what happens when you walk around with an England shirt on!

It's a well known fact I don't like you, but I must admit I'd always had a bit of respect for you. I thought, whether or not I agreed with your opinions on most things, you were a fairly mature, fairly intelligent young man.

All of that. ALL of that, just changed. What a fooking moron. I really, genuinely, in the modern age hope a majority of people on this forum are going to read that and shake their heads a little at you. Sincerely.

If you were there you'd know what i'm talking about. I don't accuse people of such things lightly. They gave my brother very out and crappy food you wouldn't feed to your dog. I could give you all the facts, but you've clearly made your mind up already so there's no point. All i can say is my accusations are based on substantial evidence. They're lucky we didn't take legal action.

Then the place was probably just crap, that's got nothing to do with you being English or them being Welsh.

There are a number of things wrong with the whole "they treat us bad because we're English!" crap, it does my nut.

Firstly and foremostly, 9 out of 10 of the places you're likely to go in Wales are either going to be a large town / city or a tourist hot-spot. Both of which will regularly see, accept, be used to and make their living off outsiders. Namely English tourists, to be honest.

Secondly, were you anywhere more "backward" so to speak, you're more likely to encounter some country bumpkin, outsider-hating pleb anyway. You get this everywhere from Yorkshire to Texas, it's not exclusive to Wales and - what's more - it's not, again, because you're English. They're like that to everyone, whether they're from South Wales, England, Belarus or just the next village over.

Thirdly, and this one's fairly important, outside of the sport there's really a lot, lot, lot less animosity towards the English in Wales than there is in Scotland and Ireland. Don't get me wrong, there's still a lot of grudge-bearing, and as far as I'm concerned it's fairly justified. But most people don't take it out on the average English Joe. There's a lot of humour and a lot of banter in Wales, you might get mocked or poked fun at (but so what? I get that here for being Welsh), but attempted poison for being English? Just not likely.

I could go on and on and on and on (as most of you know) but I don't think there's a need. You're being beyond eccentric, you're being flat out ridiculous.

And rightly so.

Go play with your daffodils, flower man.

ok, ok, i WILL be serious for a moment.....

I actually really like Wales. I like some of the welsh people, just as i like some of the english people..

I love the fact the welsh have their own language and i heartily support the teaching of welsh in welsh schools because there is nothing wrong with keeping Wales 'welsh' Just like i like the idea of keeping england english. Lets face it, part of why people like Wales is because its a different country. Sure, it has nice scenery and beaches too..

Both my uncles are fluent welsh speakers ( i only know a few words here and there ). And before anyone comments.. nothing wrong with them speaking english either...

I think its great fun to poke fun at welsh rugby and to stuff them at Rugby is great fun., as it is scottish and irish rugby from a playful banter point of view. You just need to learn when and who too have a laugh with about it as some people are very patriotic and will take it offensively.. Wether they should or not isnt the issue.. I just dont like offending people if i can help it ( very English of me!)

ok finners here me out on this one before you issue a addoed ddilysa against me...

The welsh are very much like the english are....

Proud of their country, proud of their heritage and treat some people with disdain for mocking who they are....

I am pretty sure some welsh people can be rude to english folk when they go over to Wales even 'racist' ... poisoning you? i'd hate to think someone goes that far.... But next time you feel you are treated badly over in Wales, spare a thought for those who are treated the same over here in england... you'll know what it feels like then. Does it make it right it happens? Is it your fault? of course not... i dont ever condone anything like that..

There you go.. old man rant over.

That's one hell of a generalisation.

The only time I've been sick in Wales has been when the inconsiderate bastards wouldn't shut the pub until 3AM. Proper hospitality I tell thee.
