The Stig Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 So Hume isn't getting any better and in my opinion is better at right mid, Cort is woeful, Fryatt is also struggling recently and Sappleton and Chambers don't have the expericnce. And they are not scoring enough goals, fact. De Vries hardly set the world alight earlier in the season but he certainly has improved since he last played beofre his long loan spell. Does he deserve a chance in the team.
FleckneyFox Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Yeah. I think he get to much stick has been 10 times better than Cort
Staf Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 We are getting so desperate but to be honest yes i would rather see de vries than cort
DB11 Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 As cover for Collins John / replace Carl Cort but if he's getting regular first team football with scum Leeds then leave him until we desperately need him
filbertway Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 lol lol On a serious note All we need is the sappletizer.
Joe. Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 De Vries is a poor man's Sappleton but if it involves getting Cort out of the side then definitely.
Staf Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 No. De Vries isnt the answer. Who is the answer then ?
Dames Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 People seem to forget how well he started the season but he was bombed out the team by Smegson and then sent to Leeds. Besides Fryatt he's been our best striker these season and thats saying alot considering he hasn't played for 2 months. At least he tried, He might be limited but he made use of himself. Unlike Cort.
The Reverend Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Yes, he should be ahead of Cort, Chambers and Sappleton.
Joe. Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Yes, he should be ahead of Cort, Chambers and Sappleton. Get out. Get out now.
Webbo Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Absence has made the heart grow fonder. People seem to forget how crap he could be. Yes he'd have one fairly good game ,but then he'd have 6 crap ones.

AyewJoking Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Martin Allen showed dV some love and it culminated in dV taking the piss out of promotion certs Watford. We seem to cycle through our strikers but ultimately they are all out of their depth.
lee7 Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 rather have De Vries here than cort. at least De Vries tries.
sdb Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 he's never been the answer. and never will be. he's absolute crap
Ultra Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Absence has made the heart grow fonder. People seem to forget how crap he could be. Yes he'd have one fairly good game ,but then he'd have 6 crap ones. Unlike Cort, who has one decent game and TEN crap ones..
Jack Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 I'd get him back, I would of never of sent him out though. He was playing good football at the start of the season and scored along the way and was actually trying hard, more than can be said for Cort.
ithuriel Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 why oh why bring back a player yet again who has proven he is not good enough , and poeple complain about how bad we are
Thracian Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Of the players we have at the club just now the player I'd most like back is Hammond. He's never been nearly replaced and it is embarrassing how much we miss his pace and strength. Chambers has pace but he's not strong in the way Hammond is. Teams have to beware of Hammond. I know he's awkward and doesn't have the greatest ball control but which of our players does? Cort and Hume are hardly the masters of ball control. Right through, our team needs more pace - in defence, midfield and attack. Teams are relatively comfortable tactically against us because they know we don't have many people who can really threaten and hurt them. Sheehan is perhaps the only one who can threaten on a regular basis, as Southampton clearly realised and even their precautions couldn't neutralise him completely. Campbell is another when fit and Fryatt would be another were he faster. But really the only other player we have who is capable of hurting anyone constantly is Hammond because he has genuine pace and is so direct. He, more than anyone, might offer another target for Sheehan's left foot because if he got the right pass he's the only one apart from Chambers fast enough to get clear and the only one strong enough to hold off any attention. It's a sad state and one emphasised by a long-term City fan who on leaving the ground today, said this season's team was the worst he'd ever seen in City shirts.

Thrac, i see where our coming from with elvis and i do think he does more than cort and maybe more than fryatt, but imo hes a poor mans dj campbell?
Thracian Posted 1 December 2007 Posted 1 December 2007 Thrac, i see where our coming from with elvis and i do think he does more than cort and maybe more than fryatt, but imo hes a poor mans dj campbell? I forgot Campbell. He's dangerous, no question but he still doesn't have Hammond's strength nor, I suspect, his stamina. King could help both from midfield given a bit more licence and the confidence which will come with a few more games. In fact one of the problems for King is the lack of runners ahead of him to give him passing options. Most times today he was lucky to have one available team-mate we were so static. No reason we shouldn't utilise both Campbell and Hammond if we could ever get them fit.
