Jack Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 Calzaghe should win it Hamilton will. It's Happened Mate, Calzaghe won.
Dames Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 Thank fook for that someone who actually won something has won it. Congrats Joe you deserved it. Hamilton has been spoon fed his career and lost when he should have won and really shouldnt have been in contention.
James. Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 Congratulations to Calzaghe. Worthy winner and a true champion. More poignantly for me was Bobby's Lifetime Achievement Award. Tingles down the spine. He is a magnificent person, a true legend.
Head Honcho Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 It's Happened Mate, Calzaghe won. Brilliant

Jack Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 AoWW now has more pennies to spend. Superb! I take it you had a little bet on this ?
Head Honcho Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 AoWW now has more pennies to spend. Superb! What price was he?
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 What price was he? 29-1 Deserved. Made up for the bloke, he deserves some recogintion even if he has yet to fight anyone anywhere close to his class.
SamL Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 Well done to Calzaghe, he deserves it. I think he's very under rated but very deserving of the award. Unlucky to the people who missed out. Maybe next year Mr Hamilton.
Head Honcho Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 yep, 29-1 I'm gutted I fancied him to win but thought the boxing vote would've been diluted so didn't bother
FilboFox Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 Fine, Calzaghe won... but where does it say that they have to be WINNERS?????? Its sports PERSONALITY of the year... not winner!!!
FilboFox Posted 9 December 2007 Posted 9 December 2007 Taxi For Filbofox.Lewis Loser did just that. Wish I had Bet Calzaghe though, 29-1. lol Yeah... maybe he won... but like I said... why should he win it just because he won something... Hamilton was still much more of a personality this year for me. Calzaghe won because of what he has achieved over the last 10 years not this one really...
Finnegan Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 Absolutely chuffed to bits. My faith in the Sports Personality of the Year is mildly restored. No, not because a Welsh guy won, but because Lewis Hamilton didn't and a guy that became the undisputed champion of his trade did. Fantastic.
Bert Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 Filbo Fox.... It's about the PERSONALITY of the respective sport star. What Lewis Hamilton achieved was phenomenal, but Calzaghe has a better personality.
FilboFox Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 Filbo Fox....It's about the PERSONALITY of the respective sport star. What Lewis Hamilton achieved was phenomenal, but Calzaghe has a better personality. Rubbish! Hamilton has a great personality and is a very humble person. Driven and determined, yes... some people will see that as cocky and arrogant but he is FAR from being that! As for Calzaghe... I don't see why he has such a great personality... sure, he's a nice person, but how is he different from any other chump that is nice? I am not going to sit here and say that Calzaghe didn't deserve it, as he was one of the people who did for having a good personality, but just because he became the undisputed champion shouldn't be the only reason for his win. Well done Calzaghe... but I still think that Lewis should have won... its just my opinion!
James. Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 Absolutely chuffed to bits. My faith in the Sports Personality of the Year is mildly restored. No, not because a Welsh guy won, but because Lewis Hamilton didn't and a guy that became the undisputed champion of his trade did. Fantastic. Totally agree. Hamilton should have won an award for the fakest smile when Clazaghe was receiving the plaudits. Filbo Fox....It's about the PERSONALITY of the respective sport star. What Lewis Hamilton achieved was phenomenal, but Calzaghe has a better personality. Don't take the title of the award too literally. It isn't for personality it's essentially for sporting achievement as defined by the great British public.
Master Fox Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 Filbo Fox....It's about the PERSONALITY of the respective sport star. What Lewis Hamilton achieved was phenomenal, but Calzaghe has a better personality. If it’s solely based on personality I think Nigel Worthington should have won it!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 Told you. Popularity contest. Wont win. Hamilton. Yawn. Next thread.
Manwell Pablo Posted 10 December 2007 Posted 10 December 2007 As if it's based on personality haha Priceless If it was based on personality I think it's safe to say Joe would never win it, ever.
