Leicester Lass Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 After watching a pretty in-depth interview with him on Inside Sport I thought he might've actually been able to turn a corner. Evidently not.

Simi Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 he needs a good fcuking beating up his anus!!! I'll leave that to you Raj.
Joe. Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 The guy's an absolute idiot. Although saying that he's an angel compared to the rest of his family...
Maybes Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Hope he gets a sentence. He is not a professional, he's just a thug.
Staf Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 What a idiot i think he is a decent player when he has got his head on the game
Matt Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 His next appearance in court is 3rd of January (I think) and he's been refused bail, so he's behind bars for New Years Eve/Day Thing I can't understand is my mate had a fight in town a few weeks ago, They arrested him, kept him for the whole day, and then he had to wait a week and half/2 weeks to appear in court, and it wasn't sorted then so he's got to reappear in court middle on January (Although he was obviously released on bail). How come Barton does it and goes to court then next day?! Am I being naive?!
Sly Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 THUG In all honesty here, if I was big Sam, I'd sell the bloke at the earliest chance I got. He'll miss games now he hasn't been released on bail and if he should face a stint behind bars, then he's a dead investment. They should cut the losses on this bloke now and just get shot of him.

But who would really buy him?! He's a great player when he puts his mind to it, but the liability's are too much of a risk for anyone surly!

I think, but i'm not sure, that Friday's visit to court will be a simple how do you plead to the charge, if they all plead guilty then it saves all the time, evidence, money of a proper case and they'll be punished there and then. If not he'll be told to come back, like your mate, later that month/year depending on many things such as *how bad the assault was *how much evidence the police have *how successfuly the crown prosecution service think they'll be *waiting list of all the criminals to go to court *upcoming tennis matches of magistrates etc etc If he pleads not guilty and he is called back he can apply for bail again, i think otherwise he'll be in prison untilt he hearing. Thug
DB11 Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 Joey Barton? I'm sure he'll just get off with a fine... what with it being his first offence and he being good. Oh wait...

Thug He's on bail already for the Dabo incident at Man City, which comes to trial in June. That's probably why he was remanded in custody today. Can't see him playing for the geordies again. The fans and the manager have had enough of him.
Bert Posted 28 December 2007 Posted 28 December 2007 When opposition fans sing "Going down going down" i wonder if Barton thinks it's aimed at the club.
purpleronnie Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 He's a coward who needs someone to put him in his place, maybe jail!!!!
Hullfox Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 I never realised he'd actually been found guilty. Thug.
Nick Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 Maybe. I'm sure he's pretty poor at making decisions. Especially after a beer at Christmas. I am also sure he's got a hot temper and is thrifty with his left jab before his brains engaged with the consequences. Thus said, he still must have loved his brother despite his horrific crime. We know what sort of person he is. So therefore must the group of individuals that followed him down the road taunting him about his murderous brother and assaulting a female member of his party. What did they think was going to happen? The guy personally I don't like or respect but if your gonna be in Maccy D's goading a famous, violent, male with a marginalised sense of masculine construct about his murdering brother at five in the morning, please don't be surprised if he were to stave your head in. N.
Ultra Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 But what the hell was Barton still doing out at that time? He must have known he'd been a magnet for any p!sshead and psycho (and Liverpool has a fair few of these at ANY time) walking the streets.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 Barton seems easy to wind up, and I dare say that people do it on purpose because he doesn't seem like a very likeable figure. It's a shame really, when he got his England cap I thought that he'd keep his head out of trouble and gather a bit of responsibility, but that's near impossible with Joey Barton.

And pray tell, what sociological study do you base your comments on?
Fox You Forest Posted 30 December 2007 Posted 30 December 2007 After watching a pretty in-depth interview with him on Inside Sport I thought he might've actually been able to turn a corner. Evidently not. Yeah i saw that too, but he gave me the impression he was the kind of person who thinks its never there fault or never wrong. Perhaps locking him up and making him someones bitch will do him some good.
