The Irish full-back has made just one league appearances for the struggling Foxes this season and new manager Ian Holloway has told the player he is free to leave the midlands club. Preston, like Leicester, struggling at the foot of the Championship table are keen to bring in some new blood as they look to move up the league, but even if Maybury is to move to Deepdale, the club are adamant that fellow defender Sean St Ledger will not be leaving the club, despite reports linking him with a move. It hasn't worked out here, but he could be a fairly solid right-back for a mid to lower championship team. Seeing as he's most likely available on a free just to shift him from the wage bill, you would have thought someone would take a gamble on him.

Agree with all of that which makes you think his wages are the problem. Clubs can pick him up for free in the summer and offer a smaller salary.

Alan Maybury represents everything which has been disapointing and mediocre about this club over last few seasons! I'm totally behind Olli and getting rid of negative atmosphere, Maybury to me is king of the negative!!! JOG ON!

Scow Posted 10 January 2008 Posted 10 January 2008 Ability wise he's the 2nd best right back we've got. Unfortunately after being denied a move to Sunderland a few years back, and the subsequent treatment of him since, he needs a change.
