Keegan New Newcastle Manager

Not true. He was born in South Yorkshire to geordie parents.

Yup, he's from Darlington if I remember rightly.

Here's an interesting fact: The "I'd love it" season, Newcastle's goals against was 37. Manchester United's was 35. The following year, they conceeded fewer than Manchester United, although admittedly, Keegan didn't stay the entire season.

The goals against for the Keegan premiership years were: 41, 47, 37, 40.

For these seasons the best goals against in the league was: 28 28 32 32

And the champions' was: 38 39 35 44

Of course, they did play reckless attacking football, which was brilliant, but their defense wasn't as leaky as everyone remembers simply because "attack is the best form of defense" wasn't as dumb as it might sound.

lolhe actually put !!1

In all fairness, it's pretty obvious that's nothing more than a typo. If you'd like to go around pointing out each time someone mistypes something - well, good luck.:mellow:

Im going to start taking bets to see when Keegans bottle goes again. Its happened at Newcastle when he threw the title away one year and we all remember him running away from England. I think he is great entertainment and one dimensional but it will make for some great games of football with his side involved, plenty of 4-3s and the Geordies to finish 15th every season until he is replaced by Shearer lol

There's no doubt Keegan is a particularly emotional man for a manager and it makes him extremely vulnerable in all sorts of ways.

But I've no doubt he's good for the game.

I'd sooner bet that Shearer won't ever be half as good as his hype as a manager.

It was a severely weakened side, against a typical Megson team (with SIX defenders in the starting line-up) which was clearly going for a 0-0 from the start.

Judge Keegan when he's got "his" team..

A lot of the fans can relate to him and idolise him for what he did for them as a player and then a manager.

I think you'll find he was born in Walsall and brought up near Reading

..........................but he has smelt an empty bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale so he's allowed to call himself a Geordie!

Unless this is a wind-up or I'm missing something, I think you'll find he was born at Armthorpe near Doncaster, Honcho.

Funny how some credit went to Keegan for the win against Stoke, yet the 0-0 was purely down to the fact he's had no time.

Can't help but laugh at Newcastle.

Villa have come back from 1-0 down to lead 2-1.

Now Shay Given has gone off injured.

Newcastle have been as poor if not poorer since Keegan. I, myself did not see what all the fuss was about and now I quite enjoy Newcastle losing.

Even more so because I have a mate that is so smug that New castle are in the Prem, I always tell him it won't be long until we are in the same league, and that's not us going up! ;)

It was an odd apiontment to say the least... but Keegan remains a quality manager, yet like any manager taking over half way through a season he needs time and when you add to that the fact he really missed out on the January window and has been uninvolved in the game since he left Man City it really will take a while (and then there’s the crazy contrast of an Allardyce team managed by a manager like Keegan – it’ll take some adjustment).

Newcastle fans are so deluded beyond belief!!!

They thought Keegan=King=success

Instead they will get Keegan=Past It=Sacked=Our Club Is Not Good Enough!!

Get real Newcastle United!!
