when dj returns is that it for fryatt?

i mean if dj gets a starting place, hume must surely be on the bench, andwhilst although i cant rate the two directly,( hayles and fryatt) hayles looks to be a good impact player.

Assuming we might get other strikers in the summer as well?

:dunno:

Hume will start, Ollie is on record as saying Howard and Hume is his preferred partnership, also Campbell has far from cemented his place at the club, at least in my opinion

well no im only speculating, but i dont think he's really lived up to his potential yet here, and if he could pop in a few more would be a great partner for howard.

Whatever Thracian's reply to this topic i agree with it 100%.

I have a pretty good idea what it will be.

what a 24 page essay on why Louis Dodds should be recalled and installed as Captain, Penalty taker and all around saviour?

i can't see what role fryatt would have he's too far down the pecking order, and we don't need him as a winger or midfielder anymore as we have some actual CMs and wingers, so guess he might as well move on.

he's has an unimpressive season for me, some good plays but no final product.

Howard and Hume might be the main two IMO. You need quality back up but surely Campbell and Fryatt wont be happy as back up players. (Not saying DJ and Fryatt are quality but good back up for this level!)

If Fryatt is happy to sit on the bench and be on par with Barry Hayles in the pecking order, then I'm all up for keeping him. If he takes his chance whenever that may come along and works his way back to the team, then I'll respect him a lot. But if he feels unhappy being on the bench and he wants to leave, then by all means close the door after you Mr Fryatt.

Fryatt will find himself down the pecking order when Campbell gets back for sure I think. I don't know, maybe it's the end for him? He's still young though, so I don't know.

I can't see him happy with being 4th choice striker though.

DJ back up for Hume

Hayles back up for Howard

Fryatt Sold hopefully, don't get me wrong I think he does have a certain amount of abililty, but he just doesn't score enough goals, and strikers are judged on goals scored not workrate, skill or hold up play.

Fyatt will look much better once he has better players around him, look at how many strikers birmingham had when they went up, I reckon we need all 4 of them!

Fryatt is not far from the end of his contract if memory serves.

What has he offered so far?

Not many goals that's for sure.

He doesn't have electrifying pace that can pull defences apart.

There's no great aerial threat, he's not a near post specialist and his shooting range doesn't seem particularly wide for a striker.

I've seen far too many balls whizz across the six yard box to believe he's a natural poacher of goals. He doesn't often bring others into play with any regular outcome.

Basically my impression is that he's an awkward dribbler who's hard to dispossess on his day. He's direct and he can usually hit the target from medium range. Being young he might improve on his limitations but need we take the risk?

Howard is a specialist - our big, strong, hold it and flick it player.

Hume is fast, elusive and our best scorer for 18 months and over two seasons.

Campbell's contract has a way to go. He's fast, he's a poacher, very hard to mark and his movement is a challenge to any defence.

Hayles is a Holloway signing and already has one goal from two games and a few minutes.

We've scored just 27 goals in 27 League matches so far compared to 60-odd scored by League leaders West Brom. That's less than half the number we need. It doesn't take a genius to work out that we need to score more as I warned quite plainly before the season started.

All that considered I'd hope to take an offer for Fryatt and sign one or even two alternatives who would add to our goals potential - people who would score more and make more.

Holloway however may see it completely differently. He's already said he likes Fryatt and wanted to sign him previously.

My guess is he'll keep him on and if that happens I hope it is he who proves the wise one.

Thrac i like reading your posts but can u just summorise it all in a nice little compacted sentence us Australians have small attention spans :D

I think Fryatt has till the end of the season to prove himself or make a decision to leave.

Realistically, Hayles wass only signed to do a job for half a season, like seeing out a game or needing a wiser head on the pitch. He is 35 and will not I imagine play a major part next season, when he will be 36.

In that sense, Fryatt has 2, maybe 3 forwards ahead of him in the queue, Hume, Howard and possibly Campbell. At this stage, Holloway has not really had a chance to assess Campbell as he's been injured, so we do not who is ahead of who out of Matty and DJ. The ball is therefore very much in Fryatt's court, as like all our strikers, he will have a decent midfield behind him, rather than feeding off long ball punts.

So I think like all our strikers, it's a case of unless they ask to leave or we get an offer too good to turn down, they will all be here until the summer when all decisions will be made.

It's not just Australians. I've read several articles lately about young people having trouble concentrating for more than small periods of time.

It's not helped by television programmes having adverts every few minutes and the whole media emphasis of condensing everything into a soundbite.

Many young people have trouble reading books.

Anyway, to your point and a summary of my view on Fryatt....

I did have high hopes but what has he provided so far that would make you keep him?

I cant see a future here for Fryatt now. I know Hayles is no spring chicken and maybe Fryatt will learn plenty from the likes of Hayles and Howard but I get the feeling that we will cash in on him in the summer because he wont improve as a player without playing games.

I still think he will end up a good quality striker in the future as he has many good attributes but I just get the feeling we wont see the best of him at our club for some reason.

Majority of Leicester fans are the most narrow minded people on the face of this planet. Some of the comments about the little precious over rated Hume are laughable.

I would try and argue most of the posts in here but I feel it would be waste of time.

Unbelievable

Im not sure whether its just Leicester fans to be honest though mate.

Most football fans seem to follow the trend and because Humey did well a couple of years ago and has done OK since, he will always be seen as some kind of saviour when to be fair he has done no more than OK. People seem to jump on the bandwaggon, especially those who don't actually go to the games and if someone says that Hume is god and Stearman is shite they`ll naturally agree but it`ll be no different with fans from other teams.
