Master Fox Posted 9 February 2008 Posted 9 February 2008 I'm going to this tomorrow. Long drive but looking forward to it. Should be an interesting event. £22 it was today to watch Leicester City, i paid that for anadditonal ticket. Pffft, yeah right Milan.
Bert Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Enjoy it MF. I just hope no-one boo's during the silence.
Ultra Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Enjoy it MF.I just hope no-one boos during the silence. Agreed. Surely the Man City fans can't be that sad or bitter..
Stevosevic Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Agreed. Surely the Man City fans can't be that sad or bitter.. You would hope not, but there is a small minority of idiots that follow every club. Should be a good game though, enjoy MasterFox!
MikeyT Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Enjoy the game mate! And i hope that the silence is respected. But like the previous poster said, there are always a small minority of idiots that will try to ruin special moments like this!
LeeCovFox Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 One of City's pwn was killed in that disaster. I think the silence will be respected. If not, then shame on whoever it is that breaks it.
Webbo Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 One of City's pwn was killed in that disaster. I think the silence will be respected. If not, then shame on whoever it is that breaks it. True , but if it had been Man city's players killed we wouldn't still be hearing about it 50 years later.
purpleronnie Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 I think all the publicity will stop the booing.
Samilktray Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 True , but if it had been Man city's players killed we wouldn't still be hearing about it 50 years later. Whats wrong with remembering such a tragic event
Durnerz Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Surely a minutes applause would be more apt? Drown out the Booers and whatnot. Come on City!
purpleronnie Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Surely a minutes applause would be more apt? Drown out the Booers and whatnot.Come on City! I suggested that but people said it was remembering the tragedy rather than the individual so a minutes silence was more apt.
Narborough Bod Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 True , but if it had been Man city's players killed we wouldn't still be hearing about it 50 years later. Quite a few of the older pundits reckon England would have had a good chance of winning the 58 world cup. Listening to Jimmy Armfield, we'd just beaten Brazil, so I think it was a loss to England as well as United.
Simi Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 United wearing shirt numbers 1-11. Quite like that to be honest. Wish it was done all the time.
Durnerz Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Old Trafford looks immense for atmosphere today. The shirts are superb also. Very well observed silence also.
Simi Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 That was very powerful. Seemed to be fireworks going on outside the ground?...
LeeCovFox Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 What were the bangs? Did some tosser let off fireworks?
Phube Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Wow... they all got free scarves... But WTF were the fireworks... disgruntled Scouse fans??
Simi Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Wow... they all got free scarves... But WTF were the fireworks... disgruntled Scouse fans?? City fans that couldn't get tickets?
Bryn Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 I'm pretty sure the bangs were a gun salvo salute.
Durnerz Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 I'm pretty sure the bangs were a gun salvo salute. Or the locals from Moss side burgling the takings from the Burger van outside
lildave3 Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 Very glad the minute stayed silent, in the stadium at least. Ronaldo hasn't looked his usual self yet, first touch seems unusually off.
LeeCovFox Posted 10 February 2008 Posted 10 February 2008 I'm pretty sure the bangs were a gun salvo salute. I wondered if it might be but the timing between shots seemed a little out of sync?
