Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Is this really the best we can do? As humankind? Jamming millions of people into tiny spaces and making them do the same monotonous, boring tasks day in day out until they retire/die? We've lost all perspective.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 February 2008 Author Posted 20 February 2008 Alternitavely, they could change jobs. I'm talking collectively, not individually.

Its a way of life im afraid, if you dont like it then get shot of you job and roam the countryside
Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 February 2008 Author Posted 20 February 2008 Whats the alternative, work outdoors? Its a way of life im afraid, if you dont like it then get shot of you job and roam the countryside It wasn't always like this though was it? Not everyone worked in an office in the Middle Ages. And if this is progress, where are we heading next?
lildave3 Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 I'm talking collectively, not individually. Ah, in which case...er... Yes.
Tommy G Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 It wasn't always like this though was it? Not everyone worked in an office in the Middle Ages. And if this is progress, where are we heading next? Would you rather lead the life you do now or go back to the middle ages? Walking round with hardly any clothes on - just rags, no McDonalds, no cinema? no football on a saturday? the list could go on..no internet porn? Stop moaning and be grateful, some people just can't be pleased can they

Stop moaning and be grateful, some people just can't be pleased can they If McDonalds, the cinema and internet porn are the best you can come up with then the middle ages don't sound that bad. But you've missed my point again. Capitalism is so far ingrained now that people have been brainwashed into believing this is the best way to make the most out of life. And again, I'm talking collectively not individually. Whether I want to dress in rags and live in the countryside is beside the point. This is the system we live in now. You look for a job these days and it's all Accounts Assistant this, HR Administrator that. We'll all get to the end of our lives and wonder what we did with them other than work for THE MAN to no good end for ourselves.
James. Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Stop thinking so grandly and out of the box and stuff. You need to become institutionalised then you will learn to appreciate the finer things about offices and as such learn to accept your place in society as a corporate whore known only by a number (if you're lucky it will be alpha-numeric): - the fit girl that everyone fancies but no one has a chance of getting anywhere near - the funny nicknames that people get given without them knowing - breakfast - lunch - general backstabbing - the idiots who think they're something when really they're not There's plenty more but they should keep you going for a bit.

People make their own choices, do you work in an office? If your so worried about it then you've got to change jobs/career path. I can't see theres any other way of working without being in an office with anything business/financial related, just the way it is im afraid. Plus you have 5pm onwards and also weekends to ''make the most of your life''

I simple cannot do that in the current capatalist mess of modern times. ****ing French wankers. I'll get them somehow.

Bellend Sebastian Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 It wasn't always like this though was it? Not everyone worked in an office in the Middle Ages. And if this is progress, where are we heading next? Working from home, I'm hoping. 80 per cent of what I do in the office I could do at home. Plus I could guitar in my tea break, and not wear a suit
ASH17LCFC Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Fez quit your job and have a dream. Start playing music or start a cult. Most people work all there lifes in a job they hate and die. Only you can stop it.

Manwell Pablo Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Do you think it would be politcally possible for Foxestalk to declare war on the French?
ASH17LCFC Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Do you think it would be politcally possible for Foxestalk to declare war on the French? They surrender already, I have southern france and you can have the rest.

Flynny Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Do you think it would be politcally possible for Foxestalk to declare war on the French? Give the consulate a ring, see what they say.
danny. Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 hmm I really like my office and my work, then again the office is more like a batchelor pad than an office and work is varied suppose it depends on where you are/what you do

You could be working 3 shifts in a dead end job knowing redundancy maybe just around the corner and you have a pregnant wife to support on minimum wage. Hope that cheers you up abit!
The People's Hero Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 You're so right. We should smash the capitalist system and wipe out all my debt, just like that. Seriously though - you are right. How did it come to this?
Ric Flair Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 You're so right. We should smash the capitalist system and wipe out all my debt, just like that.Seriously though - you are right. How did it come to this? I think it's about we had another World War, that will get everyone to focus on something else. Seriously though, the world we live in now, by and large is depressing. People can say what they like about, you make your own choices and if you're unhappy with something change it. I'm not particularly unhappy with my life and I would change things if I ever got that unhappy. But as Fez has said, collectively, the world and certainly the country we live in, is an absolute farce. To really appreciate anything in life these days, usually only happens when something real happens. Something you can't put a price on, something natural. For every thousand 35 yard screamers you score on PES, for every dozen new pair of trainers, for every new phone, etc the feeling of appreciation and contentess soon wears off. But the things that really have a positive effect on our lives are so lost amongst this world that it's very rare any of us really experience them and therefore we aren't ever going to live our lives to our full potential, whether Tommy G believes so or not. There's no way out, other than from inside your mind that doesn't take in to account the falseties of the world we now live in. The sad thing is, that's being taken away from us now as well. We're being controlled every second of every day. Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery, None but ourselves can free our minds.

It raises the question whether making more money is making people really happy or whether we're all just feeding our shallow consumer needs/emptiness/frustration when all we do is work off our asses like soulless robots.
