Danglo Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Is Leicester - Coventry our new BIG local derby now? I know geograpically it naturally is for people who live in between. I'm from Loughborough where there has always been an even Leicester/Forest spread BUT in recent seasons i've really looked forward to COVSCUM, and they seem to really hate us Lets face it, Forest don't care about us half as much as we do about them. Derby? meh COV are in a simliar situation with the West Mids clubs not really giving a feck about them, AND there is not much distance between the 2 cities at all SO is this now our biggie?
Ric Flair Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I hate Coventry more than any other team in the whole world. They are the enemy. Forest and Derby don't fill me with as much disgust as The Shitters do.
Bernie's Love Child Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 It always used to be Forest for me, but think it might be Coventry now. Probably because I know more Cov fans than I do Forest!
Finchy Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 It all depends on where you live in Leicester i suppose, or who you work with. I know from going to college in Hinckley that it's definitely Cov. For me it's always been Derby tho, i think that's just because growing up with the Martin O'Neil team we were always in the same league as Derby in those years. I've never really cared about Forest tho, i know my dad, who grew up Loughborough doesn't like em. But i think a local derby is only fun when you personally know a fan of a different team, i don't know any Forest fans. But Cov absolutely detest us ! I turned up to college the Monday after we beat them in my City shirt and literally as soon as i got to college about 10 Cov fans i'd never spoken to before, all started shouting at me, taking it really seriously, t'was very funny. Hoping i'll be able to wear it in pride again next monday. But anyway i guess, for this season it has been Cov, but next year it will be back to Derby.
Uncle Albert Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Forest for me. Thats why i want them to get promoted this season so we can have 3 derby's next season.
Trotty Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I've only seen Northampton play Cov once but I have a slightly irrational and yet geniune dislike for them.
The People's Hero Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I remember getting absolutely pis sed up once at uni coming back from a city game to find a forest fan had moved in opposite me in halls. He was a really sound lad. Unfortunately for him, we were actually good then and every Saturday without fail he'd have the chanting outside his door. Brilliant.
James. Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I don't really care about any of the local clubs. I'll have a little chuckle to myself when Derby lose again and I'll maybe get a little bit more excited at the thought of a game against Coventry or Forest but overall Leicester rivalries always feel a little forced. No one really hates us so it's hard to hate anyone back.
andyh1884 Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I was never overly fussed by the sky blue scum till I moved there & was surrounded by the fcukers. Different story now. My sunday league team's full of cov fans so I'm desparately hoping we bury them on Saturday, otherwise I might not turn up on sunday, don't think I could take the stupid, gloating, smug-faced twats.
Darkzzz_ Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I have to say it has always been Forest for me aswell, but Coventry is very close... They do hate us more than anyone else, i have a few Cov mates (season ticket holders ) who despise Leicester!! So if you think Cov dont hate us, then think again!!
Fez of Mahrez Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I find it hard to get worked up over Coventry. If we were playing Derby or Forest on Saturday I'd be buzzing about it now. I'd have been buzzing about it for weeks. We always seem to beat Cov without much fuss at home and I have only been to Cov away once (Highfield Road, we drew 0-0, awful game) - always seem to be busy when we play them! As opposed to Forest where the first time I went there I saw us lose there 4-0 and it was horrible, you have to listen to them banging on about what brilliant football they play, the 70s, Brian Clough etc etc. Then losing there 1-0 when they'd already been relegated. That was rubbish. We drew 2-2 there when they scored in about the 96th minute and that was horrible too. The first game this season was dreadful, wave after wave of attack. We were appalling for 89 minutes against them in the second game and then it was all worth it for those last five minutes. Still my highlight of the season so far. With Forest you always get the feeling you're going into a cauldron, their A block are quite intimidating as far as any away ground goes. I can't see the Ricoh being like that.
The People's Hero Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 That 2-2 game away of Forest was awful. Simply awful. I don't want to talk about it. Thankfully, a woman I didn't even know at the time (thanks Kerry H!) spotted me and gave me a lift home.
RowlattsFox Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 why does there have to be a choice? Can't i hate all 3. In order of hatred, its Forest, Cov then Derby.
Dames Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I hate thier fans more than i hate Forest or Derby fans tbh.
Phlashman Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 For me it's Derby, I live in Coalville and used to work in Derby. The company I worked for moved to Pride Park just a few months after I left! I don't know how I could of coped with a view of the sheeps stadium from my office. But equally it does mean I know a lot of Derby fans who are just praying that they can beat the sunderland record. It's so funny.
Alexikokopops Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Lived in/near Cov for the past three and a half years years. Lets shit 'em.
fox123 Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Leicester's a really weird place I think, like someone has previously said, I guess that if you live Hinckley way then rivals Coventry and if your Loughborough way its more likely to be Forest/Derby??
Bert Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Leicester's a really weird place I think, like someone has previously said, I guess that if you live Hinckley way then rivals Coventry and if your Loughborough way its more likely to be Forest/Derby?? Yep. I guess it's just how you were brought up (In a roundabout kind of way) or the local area that you lived in. When i was younger, i never even really knew that Cov was local or anything. So my main focus of hatred was on Forest then Derby. Now I understand so much more, Cov are 2nd, but Forest will always be top. It's a shame we don't have 2 teams in this City. (Like Man Utd/Man City etc)
Lovejoy Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I hate Coventry more than any other team in the whole world. They are the enemy. Forest and Derby don't fill me with as much disgust as The Shitters do. Same. Don't really know why, but I hate them!
Koke Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 I hate the scums with all my heart. The scum of the earth they are. I hope we shit on them on Saturday.
lildave3 Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008 Derby the most for me. Then Forest. Then Cov.
Joe. Posted 21 February 2008 Posted 21 February 2008
Derby the most for me.

Then Forest.

Then Cov.

Same for me. Can't say I care about Coventry too much.
