Milky Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 When will the twat finally realise we need a couple of attacking midfielders. On the the wing preferably. Surely it's obvious.
LeeCovFox Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 because hes a proven successful manager and holloway is...well just look. No he isn't. He did okay at Fulham, but they have a damned sight more money than us. He was sacked because Fulham were on a run which put them precariously close to the Premier League drop zone. Unfortunately for Fulham they followed this up with an even worse appointment. And at Real Sociedad, before the issue of the chairman taking charge of transfer policy, he was struggling to get his side into the promotion places. This is a club with went dangerously close to winning La Liga just a few seasons ago, and one which was not expected to be relegated in the first place. Although I think for the Sociedad adventure he can be given the benefit of the doubt, havnig only been there for m6 months and havong to acclimatise to another country and it's football. But I still see nothing which makes him any more proven than Holloway. Coleman was just fortunate enough to get his management break at a Premier League club.
Rodders Posted 23 February 2008 Author Posted 23 February 2008 The stats say we had more possession (52%) and more shots on target (10 vs 7), so we can't have been THAT terrible. Or were we?
Onion Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Jesus when will people realise that this isnt because of the manager, its the players that are to blame here, there inconsistancy and lack of fight cost us today. For some reason they seem to all get there heads down if we conceed a goal. Is that Ollie's fault? some might argue it is, but i tjust think its unprofesional behaviour by the players. They need to get there heads out the sand and get stuck in!!! We need consistancy and patiance, we wont be relegated. if we are its because were just not good enough, i dont think even Murinho will be able to get this shower of shite playing. We need to have a 3 year plan, and it needs to start nxt season, because there is too much unecesary preasure on the players every year, and i think this truly affects how they play. Im still confident we wont go down, heads up lads, its only one loss. We will probably win next week and itl be tak of play offs again. This league is to close, its crap! threee or four wins could take us to mid-table. You have to realise that ultimatley the manager is responsible for his players and the results. If the players are not doing what he asks then he should act accordingly.
CKB Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 No back to back wins? ..OH MY GOD I AM SHOCKED!!!!
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 I like to think i follow these to block out LeicesterTruth is, i have no idea who Petro Athletico are. I like to think decideing to follow LCFC was all a big dream
purpleronnie Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Plymouth are 5th top Leicester are 5th bottom. Holloway,,,,, second thoughts?

Id rather have a manager thats kept a team in the prem for 4 years on a shoestring than another 'the next martin o'neil' manager like we've had for the last 5 years.
FleckneyFox Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 SO ANGRY. Ive never said Ollie out before....but that is not acceptable and im having doubts in my mind now. Never really thought we could be relegated until now. Billy Davies in excellent championship manager (waiting to be slated)
coale39 Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 I like to think decideing to follow LCFC was all a big dream Im in dreamland! Promotions still mathmatically possible!

MC Prussian Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Plymouth are 5th topLeicester are 5th bottom. Holloway,,,,, second thoughts? Also to consider is the fact that Plymouth lost a couple of key players recently. And still they're doing better than us. Every time we've been bringing in a new manager in the past few years, he ****s it up. Along with the new players he's brought in. Meh. Sheep. Smells like shit down there in the table.
FleckneyFox Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 For me - worst result of the season. We are unbeleivably inconsistent the players are obviosly struggling with some sort of mental block. High chance of relegation at the moment me thinks
Foxhateram Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 You have to realise that ultimatley the manager is responsible for his players and the results. If the players are not doing what he asks then he should act accordingly. To be fair to Holloway he seems to have treid everything, publicly slating them, sending the slackers away, rawring at them in the changing rooms, Lock ins, DvD analysis of performance sessions. Nothing seems to work with this lot!!! what can he do, weve had a wealth of experiance in our managers i this season, who have all been proven managers at other clubs but just "not good enough" to change things here. Maybe its time we started to blame the players on the field rather then the manager. What this club needs is consistancy and time to build. Its not going to happen over night, and it isnt going to happen in a few months, this club is in a complete mess. From top to bottom. We need to keep Ollie and be patiant im confident hel keep us up, he has the passion and faith to turn this around im sure!!! Ollie stays, Milan stays, The players we have stay, We buy a few more in the summer, then we will be a force in this league.
Onion Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Since when have Fulham operated on a shoe string? Mohamed Al-Fayed anyone? notoriously know for being a tight-arse at fulham and has not essentially supported his managers with money.
Guest shearfox Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 changing the manager is not the way forward we have tried that multiple times already this season alone! and nothing has changed so lets actually get behind a manager for once and get some stability for a change

Trav Le Bleu Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 :nono: Stupid people calling for managers head People saying getting "Coleman" in People on Radio Leicester saying, "We should get rid of Ollie and get Dowie" (oh - the same Dowie who took Cov below City and now they got rid of him, then they beat us? ) People saying Plymouth 5th now that Ollie is no longer the manager - that's roughly where they were when he left!!! We will lose MORE games like this this season, mark my words. We will win more games like we did against Norwich. We will not go down because we CAN play like we did against Norwich and we will probably do it often enough PLUS there are (believe it or not) WORSE teams than City in this league. We will not go on some great winning run any time soon. Frustrating, isn't it?

lavrentis Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 ha hear Holloway "Absolute Bullshit decision"
BigGibbo Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 PLUS there are (believe it or not) WORSE teams than City in this league. There is?
Simi Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Absolutely dreadful. Awful decsion for the penalty. But who cares? It would have just come later on in the game. We were not at it today. Completely gutless performance from more or less everyone. Especially Hume, conman. Oakley was just as bad. Clemence not far behind. McAuley was woeful in possession. Deserved to be taken off. 5,000 fans. The amount that left after the second goal was laughable. See you all at Cardiff? Piss Poor.
Benjani Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Just got back from the game, and what a dissappointment! It was never a penalty - even Best looked surpirsed when it was given. DJ Campbell is a waste of space, get Fryatt in the team starting next game. He never looks interested and had nearly an open goal to shoot in near the end, and he passed it sideways to Howard . Atomosphere was appalling, everytime we play Cov away, i get excited and expectations are high, but it always turns out to be complete rubbish. A few idiots got chucked out, and some guy got injured - there ended up being blood all down the concourse and down the steps. Overall, a complete waste of time and money!
