purpleronnie Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Just got back from the game, and what a dissappointment! It was never a penalty - even Best looked surpirsed when it was given. DJ Campbell is a waste of space, get Fryatt in the team starting next game. He never looks interested and had nearly an open goal to shoot in near the end, and he passed it sideways to Howard . Atomosphere was appalling, everytime we play Cov away, i get excited and expectations are high, but it always turns out to be complete rubbish. A few idiots got chucked out, and some guy got injured - there ended up being blood all down the concourse and down the steps. Overall, a complete waste of time and money! Thought the atmosphere would have been good at cov. Oh well. Glad you mentioned DJ is a waste of space I stated that when we signed him.
Matt Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 We were awful and with hit and miss performances we deserve to go down, there will certainly be no excuses from me, but then again at the end of the day as fans why should we be making excuses? Its the players that need to be explaining (i.e - Looking for the excuses) I'm abit confused because should we go down i'd really want to see the back of these players and teams from the championship looking at them just to get the shite out our club but then again they got us in this position they get can get us out of it.
lavrentis Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 It gives me the impression that Laczko gives the ball away to often however I didn't go today.
Thracian Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 I think the wing problem still hasnt been sorted. 2 new, PROVEN wingers either in on loan or in the summer. :D Someone asked me in the pub today how I thought Laczko would play. I said he'll do nothing, he's a homer. Whether he'll overcome it I don't know.
Matt Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 It gives me the impression that Laczko gives the ball away to often however I didn't go today. Correct, He got into and was running (with the ball) into some decent crossing position's then he lost the ball (or never had the ball in the first place) But he's young he can learn, thing is we havn't got time like he has. -Catch 22, Do you get older players with experience and rebuild your team every season, or wait season after season expecting the young players to stand up and be counted?
Thracian Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Spot on. Unfortunately I can't think of a single reason to back that viewpoint. If Leicester continue putting pressure on themselves it will start getting worse. We go to Cardiff next week at a time we can't win an away game to save our futures. With teams having a game in hand we are fast falling into deep shit and there's no signs that Holloway has effective answers.
LeeCovFox Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 I live in Cov city centre. My trip home on a bus full of Cov fans, wearing my city shirt, was not filled with joy. But what can I say? As much as Coventry were far from brilliant, they were certainly better than the previous three occasions I've seen them this season, and they at least looked as though they were putting a bit of effort in. I don't believe for a second that our players don't go out and try, I think that kind of accusation is ridiculous in the extreme. Of course they want to win. But once again, we concede first, and heads drop. These players are utterly devoid of confidence. And this is something that goes back to before Ollie's era. He will need pre season to sort that out. The problem with players lacking confidence though is that the atmosphere spreads to new players as well. And theres not much anybody can do about it until players are away from competitive football where every knock exacerbates the problem. I have never wanted a season to end so much in my life. Even last season, I thought that even if survival was achieved, things were so bad at the club that we would achieve a mid table position at most this term. But if we can survive this season, I'm optimistic that Ollie is the man to change attitudes at this club, and get us mounting a play off push next season.
Foxhateram Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 so after all the bollockings etc. and his players are still not 'performing' as they've been told what does that tell you? they don't listen? if thats the case why hasnt he dropped them? got rid? Becuase we have no alternatives thanks to piss poor management during the summer. Oh Clemence, Oakley, Lackzo, Kisnorbo, Mcauley, N'Gotty, your all dropped guys cus ure not performing. Right- Rowe-Turner, Gradel, Chambers, Hammond, Weso, etc your in. Do you think that would help? apart from weso none of the above are ready for this league. he has no option but to play this bunch of useless lazy toss*rs, give him a break. A new manager will not change things here! its lack of organisation in the summer, and lack of depth that has screwed us over. We can only pley one type of football with one team, we have no alternatives.
Benjani Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 80 minutes... Disgraceful! I stayed for the full 90, i never leave early. And can i just add, Kevin Thornton what a player! He was quality today, and i dont even mind saying it being a Leicester fan. snap him up! haha
Daggers Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 80 minutes... But at least the Chav kids had an excuse to get outside early for their big fight
Sods Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Just got home. Life goes on, had a good day out with my mates and father. Game however was shit. Matty Fryatt der der der der der deeeeeeeeery me. (He is not the answer). Not a penalty in a million years from my view. Dickhead celebration and all. Anyway Cardiff next.
filbertway Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 We've got one fo the best home forms (last 4 games) and one of the worst away form (previous 4 games). Not very good travellers are we . Ah well this seasons a write off.. We won't go down I don't think (See not stating something as a fact like alot of people seem to do) Probably finish around 16th-18th. Then it's upto holloways to get his team around him over the next season and ship out the bottlers and players not upto it. I've got faith in him to do that.
Maybes Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 80 minutes... What have you achieved here? What can we do about it?You moan when we take 5000, you moan when we take 400. *Bert btw.
Floating Fox Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Just got home. Life goes on, had a good day out with my mates and father.Game however was shit. Tommeh Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Shit game Shit support Shit performance Shit team But: I belted passed Maybes's new Astra en route to the M6, made my frigging day!! DOOR KNOB BERT!!!
Asha Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Campbell was shit today. He found his level at Brentford. He is not a £1.5 million player, and never will be. As for bringing Hayles on despite the whole stand chanting for Matty Fryatt - joke.
Tevez Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Shit gameShit support Shit performance Shit team But: I belted passed Maybes's new Astra en route to the M6, made my frigging day!! DOOR KNOB BERT!!! Tastes abit minty to me.
Darkzzz_ Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 I have never felt that low after a city game.... I hate them so much and im so pissed of because we really did not show up.... We honestly made Cov look like a decent outfit.... When they are so far from it...
lildave3 Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 What have you achieved here? What can we do about it?You moan when we take 5000, you moan when we take 400. *Bert btw. The fact that people feel the need to leave after 80 minutes, pointless.
Flynny Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 A poor game only made interesting by a big dollop of Baz at the end. We hardly threatened.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 23 February 2008 Posted 23 February 2008 Unfortunately I can't think of a single reason to back that viewpoint.
