Sheffield United Post Match Post Mortem

I know how to brighten my day. I'll get onto the BBC website and do that wonderful Predictor thingy.

I bet I can get City safe from relegation...oh sh*t! We won our last four games and still didn't stay up.

It's out of our hands now!!

I'd love to go for a ride on Geo's Optimism Bus - just once this season...please :(

Your getting us confused with them, I havn't seen Barnsley play too much this season, so can't say too much myself and obviously they have been fairly poor to be in this position however they may have players capable of actually playing, fighting for a win, unlike our poor excuses of players.

Your saying you don't see Barnsley picking points up against Hull and Watford which on form and paper, i'd agree. Equally though I don't see us getting even a point again Barnsley, Sheff Wed, or Colchester.

You don't actually believe that Matt your talking shit, to demonstrate this I bet you fifty quid we take at least a point from one of those games. A bet that you wont accept.

Yeah go on then.

Nah not really, I'll admit, I'm looking at any oppotunity to slag the players off, I don't think we won't get a point from our last 4 games but I just struggle to see any way out this mess, it was just a heat of the moment comment from me.

Rab Douglas on the bench, no attacking option, going to Sheffield with a plan 'not to lose' rather than set out an attacking team and no Sappletizer.

Is the result really a surprise to anyone? :dunno:

That's tempting me MP!

Barnsley might be really up for it if they beat Cardiff tomorrow.

Colchester have started picking up points.

Stoke might need the points for automatic promotion.

Sheff Wed are the only team I can see us getting anything from at the moment.

mmmmmm...£50?????

OK, so we lost one... yes, it was very poor but we can bounce back and hopefully will! :D

It was a freak 10 minutes when we let the goals in and I'm sure/hopeful that it won't happen again... we just need to forget this one and get on with next game against Colchester, no points today but 3 up for grabs next weekend!

COME ON LEICESTER! :scarf:

The above is the sort of fan this club needs.

I don't care anymore. Sorry. There are more important things in life at the moment.

See you all again in League One next season.

Byyeeees!

Sorry, this is the sort of fan we could do without to be fair. If you were a player, you'd be Elvis's poor understudy.

well what can i say,3-0 was a bit flattering but i think we deserved the points,as for the pen i sit bang in line with where the foul took place and it was a defo pen your player just did enough to preven sharpe getting a shot in.

massive credit to your traveling fans, proper loons, they were more entertaining than the game :crylaugh::crylaugh::crylaugh:

can i just ask why you lot seem to worship "ollie" so much he's done naff all for you. rest assured our lot will do everything in our power to make sure wednesday are still in the shit come tuesday night. ;)

I wouldn't say worship, He's got a long way to go, but I think he is the right man for the job given time, The only doubt I have about him is some of his comment - Sometimes there just pathetic.

Thing is we have gone through 3 managers this season, Martin Allen - Who I thought and still do think would have done a good job but "something" went on and he went, Gary Megson - No-one wanted him anyway, Bolton came calling and he went with our blessing, and Ian Holloway - Done bits and bobs for us but nothing amazing to change our luck yet.

I think he is the right man for the job though. He hasn't got us in this mess put it that way, He hasn't got us out or helped us in the situation but it's not his fault we're where we are.

Please don't say we were singing, 'Ollie, give us a wave' 3-0 down to you lot in a relegation fight.

And i love him personally, and believe he will bring success with time.

Yes please do. If i was a betting man though, my money would be on Wednesday just for the fact that thereseemsto be someone up there that wants to see us get releagted.

Just got back from the game, the most entertaining loss i've ever been to. I'm not sure about the whole "shoes off" thing, pretty funny tho.

As for the penalty, it was never a penalty, the ref didn't give it, only the linesman who was miles away. Both players were leaning on each other, but that normal isn't it?! If it were outside the box i doubt he'd have even given a foul, but the officials get all excited when something happens in the box.

The goal from the freekick was really poor, Hendo really should have done better, likewise with the corner. Hendo really didn't have a great game, sure he saved the penalty but it wasn't a good penalty and he pushed it right back at the penalty taker.

Our final third play was abysmal, shots were thin and far between. And very rarely troubled the keeper. Some times i think we were overplaying, being a man down we needed to play more direct, instead of the passing game we were trying. A string of 4 or more passes was rare. Bruno played fairly well at the back but his lack of pace worried me at times. Bell impressed me with his appetite.

We need some heading practice, every header flew well over the bar.

Like the sensible fans I'd written this game off already, points would have been a bonus but I wasn't expecting much. We didn't lsoe because we are inconsistent or because the players don't give a shit, it's because we simply didn't have a very good team out. We're not as good as some fans think.

On the plus side, neither are the teams around us. I predict a win next week.

Well done to the fans though for what sounded like a good performance by them

i'm afraid so and he was waving back, the city fans went through the entire team and only 1 failed to wave back...then they started doing the mexican wave (loads with no shirts on) and sang "ollie ollie start the wave ollie start thye wave" and he did to my amazement :unsure::unsure:

then for some reason they all took their shoes of and invited ollie to join them....he declined :crylaugh:

they then started singing about how quiet we were being 3 nil up but to be honest we were to busy scrating our heads and wondering what the fook was going off on the away end :crylaugh::crylaugh::crylaugh:

HAHA. which one failed to wave back? Im guessing Bruno or Hendo. And are you sure you are not slightly over-exaggerating with what was said above
