Manwell Pablo Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 And apparently the figures a ridiculous 100 Milion. I don't know whats more ridiculous, that figure or the fact that it'll probabley be turned down flat. http://msnsport.skysports.com/story/0,1952...3404583,00.html
Tommy G Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 Lazy journalism. From Man Utd's point of view, why would they sell the best player in the world? Secondly, even with 100 million in the bank, would you prefere Ronaldo or perhaps 3/4 other very good players - that if other big superstars would be interested in coming? Ronaldo is unique, no-one can come near him at the minute in terms of the impact he has.
Manwell Pablo Posted 10 April 2008 Author Posted 10 April 2008 They'd reject even that surely? I don't think they'd let him go for 200 million to be honest. who are they going to bring in to replace him.
lavrentis Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 If I was Ronaldo I would stay, he's settled in, probably on about £100k a week and can make millions for Manchester Utd on shirt sales etc.
Joe. Rumoured to be around £140k per week soon. He's not going anywhere.

Joe. Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 Worth it though considering Lampard is on £110,000 a week? I hope he's embaressed Yeah definitely. Ronaldo's pretty much priceless to Man Utd.
Fat Ron Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 Wouldnt be a bad little profit for united ih they decide to accept, Only cost £7 million didnt he?
Koke Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 100 million, I'd let him go and even carry the bags for him. As good as Ronaldo is, no player is irreplaceable.
SamL Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 Wouldnt be a bad little profit for united ih they decide to accept, Only cost £7 million didnt he? £12.24million. Without his goals I don't think they'd be anywhere near where they are now.
filbertway Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 100 million, I'd let him go and even carry the bags for him. As good as Ronaldo is, no player is irreplaceable. WHo would you replace him with then?
Koke Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 WHo would you replace him with then? Who's to say he'll play like this in 2 years time. Zidane was world best player iirc at the time Juve sold him for a record fee, and they had no problems getting someone else in (obviously not like Zidane but they still won titles and competed in Europe) . If the 100 million thing is true, then I'd snap their hands off. You can buy 3 Wayne Rooneys for that amount. Every player has its price.
Dr The Singh Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 £100 milliion is a massive amount, if true!! It's a difficult one for Man U, yes his goals have kept them in the title race, I suppose the owners will have to balance between money, players attributes and a possible replacement!! Personally I think Man U would sell, Ferguson is more then capable of finding a new suiter!!!
Simi Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 The fact that a team is considering offering £100million for a player just shows the ridiculous level football has reached.

True, the amount of prize and TV money + merchandising a player like Ronaldo could bring would mean he would be a good investment, even at 100 mill. Unless of course he suffered a bad injury. It's stupid
Ric Flair Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 100 million, I'd let him go and even carry the bags for him. As good as Ronaldo is, no player is irreplaceable. But Man Utd already have £100 million to spend on players and I bet if they did spend £100 million on several players they'd not be as influential as Ronaldo right now. £500 million then we're talking.

I dont think any player is as influential as Ronaldo right now.
Joe. Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 It's not as if money's an issue to United anyway is it? Ronaldo's surely more valuable to them than money.
Jordan Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 Well, that's the Glazers' debts taken care of right there!
Uncle Albert Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 I would sell him. £100 Million Tastey some. Be nice if Sporting Lisbon had a sell on percentage aswell.
dandannieldanok Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 I'm guessing in a football manager-esque move, the Glazers will step in and accept an offer that big, whether the manager likes it or not.
Father Ted Posted 10 April 2008 Posted 10 April 2008 They'd reject even that surely? Glazer's are in debt though and are looking for quick money Although Ronaldo IS irreplacable and even SAF believes that Ronaldo may leave because all of the Premier League's 'thugs' are after him every week.
Ultra Posted 11 April 2008 Posted 11 April 2008 Glazer's are in debt though and are looking for quick money Although Ronaldo IS irreplacable and even SAF believes that Ronaldo may leave because all of the Premier League's 'thugs' are after him every week. Like there are no "thugs" in La Liga...

You've got to feel for Fergie. First of all the 'Coolmore Mafia' take his gee-gee away and then the Yanks stop his bungs. I mean, how can a knight of the realm get by on a measly £3.5 squillion a year? The fact that MUFC are all of a sudden dominating the Premier League again and are at last beginning to look the real deal in Europe should not be allowed to blind us to the great FC United of Manchester cause: No Yank-Yid can remove the inalienable right of every Sassanach/Jock manager to know the combination on the club safe.
