I'm guessing from the URL it's yours? I've got a mkIII Fiesta Frascati in silver. For an old car it's nice, not exactly cool but it's well equipped, comfortable and in good nick for it's age. Thracian Posted 22 April 2008 Share Posted 22 April 2008 Fun vehicles I've enjoyed owning: ======================== Daimler Majestic Major Hearse (bought for £200 from a Long Marston farmer because his wife got the wrong gear, reversed it throiugh the rear wall of their garage, demolishing it completely and then declared that the vehicle was unlucky. Customised 2L Ford Transit with its own bar that automatically delivered drinks to a double bed, flashing blue police light, 16 outside speakers, 8 inside speakers, customised psychadelic paintwork. 56-seater motor coach which I sold to a hippy. Daimler saloon which the wife bought as a Valentine's Day present. White Consul Convertible I bought as a 17-year-old from the Hurst Hotel, Quorn thanks to sponsorship by my then editor Charlie Harris lovely man that he was. Brand new office Mini that I sneaked into a banger race and virtually wrecked. Morris Minor convertible which I loaned to my sister while I went abroad coaching only to find she'd sold it for £50 when I got back cos the brakes had failed. Volvo 144 Estate with roofrack which I managed to load with two wind-out table and 16 chairs only to have the chairs ripped off the roofrack with the downdraft from a passing artic and end up in pieces blowing down the A46 near Six Hills. We picked up every piece, mended the chairs and sold em for a profit.
Daggers Posted 22 April 2008 Share Posted 22 April 2008 I had 1 of those too, what a pile of shit. Mate came round and I paid him £35 for it. One 1/2 mile later and the whole thing imploded. Two hours later the scrapyard took it away. Adam Craddock is a bastard.

Mickey O'Neil Posted 22 April 2008 Share Posted 22 April 2008 My first car..1977 MK4 Cortina MK2 Escort RS 2000 I apologise to Mini lovers out there, but I detested my 1976 Mini. I actually never drove it. I lent it to my next dorr neighbour and he went and did some burglaries in it. A Lancia Y10 GTiE no less!! I loved my series 1 Lancia Delta HF Turbo....the shittest electrics spoiled it for me. Then came the Smart car!! Px'd it for a CLK 230 Kompressor Now my current 'ride'..C200 Kompressor

stez Posted 22 April 2008 Share Posted 22 April 2008 1 - mk2 escort, this was the car that all the souped up corsa drivers of today would've had. i loved my sky blue rust bucket. 2 - then began my love affair with GM. opel kadett c, i loved this car more than life it's self. mine was white and beautiful. sadly i didn't love it enough to keep the water topped up. i bent the engine. *the kadett WAS NOT a german version of the chevette* 3 - mk1 astra, mine looked like a GTE but drove like a bus. 4 - mk2 cavalier this could've been a great car, my mates was, but the bearings seized. then, in loughborough, on new years day 1997 i waited for 6 hours for the AA after a wheel fell off, well the new bearing settled and a front wheel refused to work. 5 - MG metro worst.car.ever 6 - mk1 punto however, 'someone' who lives in this house, and isn't me, crashed my beloved punto....i sold it for 150 quid and was a broken man. 7 - BMW 316 oh, this was like driving molten chocolate, shame the bits cost so much! (16 quid for a rotor arm! the sierra's (coming next) cost 2.99!) 8 - seirra, this car got me out of a carless fix, but it was rubbish, bless it. 9 - mk3 fiesta slowest.car.ever i have a spare exhaust for one of these if anyone wants it (20 quid) 10 - nissan micra 16v lovely car, you get zero respect, but when you burn them off at the lights you can see they hate it in their salesman-mobiles. but the end is neigh for this little fella as i move on to my 2nd punto, black again, with my alloys off the pranged one, and my clear indicators. come on swansea sort it out! Trav Le Bleu Posted 22 April 2008 Share Posted 22 April 2008 Had lots, so here's the highlights... pity me First car - Ford Escort Mk 2 Van (Imagine this estate with no rear windows) It had a rear bench seat and I could get loads of mates in! Next car - This is a picture of a Ford Cortina Mk 3 GXL... I had a Cortina GT... it was better and rarer. Even rarer after I blew a piston ring at 110 mph on the M1. Sticking with the theme - Mk 5 Cortina 2.0 Ghia - lovely car Then I had a few Escorts and a couple of Maestros until I acquired this... My VW Scirroco 1600GT - thats actually the one, gorgeous car. I once got into a power slide and "clipped" a police car that was parked at the side of the road booking someone else... and got away with it too! Then I had a very dodgy VW Golf GTi Mk1... waste of money THAT was! Another escort I think and then probably my favourite car I've ever owned... Mitsubishi Galant 2.0 GTi 4x4 4WS (to give it it's full name) Beautiful car to drive, but rare and expensive to maintain, so then I went back to buying fords again, but now Mondeos. I now have a Mondeo and I also have this... cos it's a lot of fun to drive (espcially since it's been modded - photo above was pre-mods) One last thing... Disco Bob had a Princess Oh, wait... I has 2 maestros

The People's Hero Posted 23 April 2008 Share Posted 23 April 2008 Why would the insurance be massive on a Clio? I was keen on a Saxo till I sat in one. The driving position is absymal, the brakes are sh ite and the interior was the worst rattle ever. Having said that, I do still quite like the look of them.
