teblin Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 They might let southampton win, better chance of sending wednesday down wouldn't have thought so, they can still get in the play offs.
brookfox Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 Blades don't have to win do they? I thought we just needed to match or better Southamptons result. So a draw for both would do it.

brookfox Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 Yes, but which team would you put your faith in, us or Sheff Utd? Exactly... Touche!
Dr The Singh Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 Touche! Southampton were poor last night, SHeff Utd have a slim possibilty of reaching the play offs. What is important is the first goal in either game, that would change the whole scenario and undoubtledly would put a huge pressure on the side that's not winning!!

Yes cause we all know what happened after the opening goal last Saturday and yesterday at the Hawthorns for that matter...
Dr The Singh Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 Yes cause we all know what happened after the opening goal last Saturday and yesterday at the Hawthorns for that matter... Very true but on this occassion, both teams have no option but to react, it's do or die, it will force the manager(s) to rethink there strategy........................
Tabou Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 Yes cause we all know what happened after the opening goal last Saturday and yesterday at the Hawthorns for that matter... I am absolutlety loving this. Atleast its exciting!!! Come on guys you must admit, although it is rather stressful and everybody is anxious/nervous, atleast it's fun!!!!!
brookfox Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 Someone just told me the game is on Sky. Is that right?
Darkzzz_ Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 I am really really terrified off this weekend ahead.... I couldn't possibly be in a worse place either.... I am in Nottingham for a night out on saturday and we are going to find a pub and watch the results come in on sunday.... I wish i could have got a ticket to be there but as most of us know 2,000 were going to go just like that!!!! Come on City..... Lets do it!!! How about that for a war cry...... P.S - If we do go down, please god let forest stay in league one as well.... I have been having a look on there forest forum and they are laying into us big time. And they gave us all that shit about us not being there rivals when we went and played them.... Wankers!!!
Thracian Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 We'll draw at best and Southampton will win. The lifeline may be Sheffield Wednesday but I wouldn't count on it. I've thought for ages the two points dropped against Chalrton would do for us and it's looking uncomfortably like the case. You cannot afford to make donations in football.
davieG Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 Someone just told me the game is on Sky. Is that right? Have you looked at the forum topics at all?

Hatfield Saints Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 I know I'm obviously going to be biased, but I can't see us going down now, not after last night. When Lallana scored it was like Christmas, your Birthdday, losing your virginity and winning the lottery all rolled in to one! Obviously I'm a tad disapointed we couldn't hold on, but I am MORE than happy with a point. For a change last night the players showed heart - something we have been lacking this year. Personally I hope Coventry or Blackpool go down (which they can still do thanks to our point, so we kind of done you a favour....). All the best for the final game, however I'd rather you dropped then we did obviously, lets hope Cov of Blackpool slip up!
purpleronnie Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 Am i right in thinking if southampton win and we draw and sheff wed lose we stay up and sheff wed go down?
Kilworthfox Posted 29 April 2008 Author Posted 29 April 2008 Am i right in thinking if southampton win and we draw and sheff wed lose we stay up and sheff wed go down? Yeah on goal diff
James. Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 Yeah on goal diff That's interesting, I hadn't spotted that. Regardless of what Southampton do if Sheffield Wednesday lose then we only need a draw to stay up.

Daggers Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 Am i right in thinking if southampton win and we draw and sheff wed lose we stay up and sheff wed go down? I'm spotting a tiny flaw in that plan
Kilworthfox Posted 29 April 2008 Author Posted 29 April 2008 I'm spotting a tiny flaw in that plan So am I it says IF rather than WHEN

Apparently we showed heart and resilience against Barnsley too less than a fortnight ago, only to capitulate against Wednesday. It's probably going to be a lottery who goes down come Sunday, and I have a very unnerving feeling that heartbreak will happen at the very very last moment
purpleronnie Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 I'm spotting a tiny flaw in that plan More of a chance of us drawing than winning.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 I think we will beat Stoke 1-0 but southampton win like 40-0 and stay up, imagane that
tartanowl Posted 29 April 2008 Posted 29 April 2008 Come on you Blades I feel disgusting saying it but I agree. I hope they hammer Southampton.
