dandannieldanok Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 To be honest the home games are probably going to be shite even if we are winning, next season is all about the away trips.
Dames Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 12-15k Be realistic the past 4 seasons have been dogshite and the relegation is gunna drive alot of people away.
Babylon Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Not a hope. 13 - 14 K average max. And Milan was on about increasing to the capacity to 45000! If we have averaged 22/23k in this division doing poorly, I see no reason why we can't average 18/19/20k next year. It's not like those going regularly this year are glory hunters who will drop off like they did when we came down from the prem. Winning games brings the crowds, if we are doing well I think we can get 26k regularly easily.
tartanowl Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 We may be surprised. I never expected Leeds to get big crowds this season, but they did. People may feel that their support are needed more than ever so they will turn up in great numbers. That is what happened with us. Although there are other circumstances with us at present we got bigger crowds in that league than we've had in the CCC. You'll also be surprised at the amount of fans you get coming from the smaller clubs. If Leeds go up Leicester will be their big day out in a big stadium next year. It certainly happened with us. I found that most League 1 clubs brought more fans than a lot of CCC clubs to Hillsborough. Prepare for chants of "You're not famous anymore" and the like too. It is absolutely gut-wrenching.
Filberts lovechild Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 The average will be exactly 21,436! Seriously I don't think our gates will go down too much. Might be wrong on this but it seemed we had more supporters for the games where we were playing the 'smaller' teams (probably cos we thought we'd win )

If Leeds go up, we will not be playing them! Most clubs will bring a fair few to us, because we will be one of the bigger clubs down there, with the best stadium in the league. We haven't been famous for a good 5 or 6 years now anyway. If we start doing well, the bandwagon fans will be back toward the end of the season. I think we'll average around 15-18k.
Corky Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 I don't think there will be a massive drop in attendances. A lot of people may buy season tickets on the belief we should win more games next year (I say should, its not guaranteed). The die-hards will be there, as always, whether season-ticket or not, and if we do well, more will come along.

Corky Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 We may not be as big as Forest, Leeds or Wednesday, but we have a big ground, large fanbase and will take many away from home, so teams will see us as a scalp. We'll probably be favourites (if Leeds go up) to win the division, which adds pressure.
Tommeh Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 TBH I cant see us getting more than 10k st's unless the prices are reduced which id highly unlikely. But if we're winning and doing well top 4ish we'll easilly get 20-25k in my opinion. So still averaging higher than most championship sides. Lots of new ground for our fans to do at the aways so I'd expect us to sell out all our allocations there.
Joe. Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 I don't think attendances will be as bad as some think. I think Forest have averaged 20,000 this season despite it being their 3rd or 4th season in League One.
Leicester Lass Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 We'll only lose about 4,000. Average around 18k unless we're up there with a shout of promotion.
lefox Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 I can't start new topics Can someone start.. 'Leicester's new manager' topic for me.... with a strong list of contenders.. holloway, davies, little, bob the cleaner, that bird who has walked endlessly round the ground(s) selling programmes, basil brush, tinky winky and maybe some funny ones like John Gregory....

It's a good job you can't! There's already at least two threads for that
Corky Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Leicester Lass, did you used to be on the 606 messageboards?
lefox Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 I didn't see one, or should that be too lazy to find one...
Floating Fox Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Think it'll ber around 16k tbh... Most teams drop by about 20% in attendences when they get relegated, usually more. And with such a generous offer of Milan to "freeze" the ST prices, tickets won't be getting any cheaper, dispite the relegation. So that'll put more off. Excellent.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 At least next season the proper fans will be in attendance. We might even get a bit of an atmosphere. Praying Leeds stay down so that we have a proper game though.
Scow Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 At least next season the proper fans will be in attendance. We might even get a bit of an atmosphere. Praying Leeds stay down so that we have a proper game though. It will be our sodding luck they get promoted. It's one of the very few things I'm looking forward should they stay down.
Craig Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 At least next season the proper fans will be in attendance. We might even get a bit of an atmosphere. Praying Leeds stay down so that we have a proper game though. And it's that attitude that'l see us struggle.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 And it's that attitude that'l see us struggle. I don't mean a game in which we won't stroll to victory. I mean a game that I can properly get myself up for. Given the choice wouldn't you rather see City / Leeds than City / Donny Rovers? I'm by no means complacent about next season, although I do think we'll have a fair crack at it.
Koke Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 If we get a good start, and play some half decent football, I'm pretty confident we'll get 21-22.000 and if that continues throughout the season then we'll easily get up to 27.000. It's not impossible.
Basingstoke Fox Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 At least next season the proper fans will be in attendance. We might even get a bit of an atmosphere. Praying Leeds stay down so that we have a proper game though. I used to be the same but now I think hoping other teams and fans suffer just makes you quite sad really, once your going to the lows, you cant really hope that other people will be too.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 And it's that attitude that'l see us struggle the City fans huffing after just 3 minutes, shouting "Oh for Christ's sake!'....'fooking rubbish'...or..'Sack the manager'
