Guest Bilo Posted 19 May 2008 Posted 19 May 2008 I know everyone's sick of Polls but this could be very much an issue come June and I'm getting in early!
Daggers Posted 19 May 2008 Posted 19 May 2008 Michael Barrymore. It'd guarantee that we'd be 'alwight at the back'.

lavrentis Posted 19 May 2008 Posted 19 May 2008 Michael Barrymore. It'd guarantee that we'd be 'alwight at the back'. He'll sort the team out top middle or bottom
Thracian Posted 19 May 2008 Posted 19 May 2008 I've gone "anyone else". That includes Filbert Fox! Having IH hanging around is like being afraid to lance an abscess. And just as dangerous because he's already done enough damage.

I can't help thinking that the new manager (if we get one at all) is on my updated shortlist.
lookwhaticando Posted 19 May 2008 Posted 19 May 2008 Of the list of named candidates, it had better be Grayson. There's a few other options I wouldn't mind. Duncan Ferguson springs to mind.
FilboFox Posted 19 May 2008 Posted 19 May 2008 I'm all for Filbo taking charge... he'd get them playing!
jumbo mills Posted 19 May 2008 Posted 19 May 2008 Martin Allen would be good, i know we wouldnt of been relegated with him
Basingstoke Fox Posted 19 May 2008 Posted 19 May 2008 May be abit of a long shot but how about Tony Adams?
DanTheFoxBhoy Posted 19 May 2008 Posted 19 May 2008 Martin Allen. Not unlike Redknapp, he will return to the Walkers and there will be a football revolution. You heard it here first.
LeeCovFox Posted 20 May 2008 Posted 20 May 2008 Brian Little would be my choice if Ollie were to go. The man who took Wrexham out of the league? I have a lot of time for Brian Little. But I think he would probabaly ruin the largely positive reputation he has with City fans if he were to return.
teblin Posted 20 May 2008 Posted 20 May 2008 I would go for Dave Penney. Great job at donny done well at darlington this year too.
Ric Flair Posted 20 May 2008 Posted 20 May 2008 Newell, Penney, Lambert, John Collins or Simon Grayson, if we could get him. But I have reservations and i'll tell you why. All the above have only managed small clubs and although we are a mess, we are a big club with a large fan base that has high expectations. We've seen these sorts of managers do extremely well at small clubs or clubs that are in good shape, but can they cut it at a club in turmoil that's just dropped down to the lowest position it's ever been in? I'm not so sure, therefore we need a manager who has experience in taking on a job like this and suceeding and Joe Royle did that at Man City. The problem is, I want stability here in the long term and Royle wouldn't be here for too long as he's said himself if he comes back to football it's for a season or two. So perhaps he could come in alongside a younger manager? Or we sack the Royle idea and risk an up and coming manager to have the ability to get a club in our state promoted hopefully twice in quick succession.

Newell an, Lambert and Collins have all played for big clubs though, so they have some idea of what it is all about. As has Grayson. I think it would be a risk going for a younger manager but anyone would be considerng the appointments that have been made recently. Allen hadn't actaully got a team promoted there was other issues with him. I feel that someone like Penney or tilson would be less of a risk as they have done well consistantly for 3 or 4 years(other than southend going down from the champ). Not just 1 or 2 seasons.
ibbosuk Posted 20 May 2008 Posted 20 May 2008 Billy Davies for me! (The Guru Says)....Ah Yes........The mighty Glaswegian atom..
