Fox You Forest Posted 28 May 2008 Posted 28 May 2008 Im suprised im the only person to go for France i think they have alot of goals in them but the main reason was my love for Thierry.
Father Ted Posted 28 May 2008 Posted 28 May 2008 I reckon that Russia or Spain will win. But they are both in what I would call the tightest group with Sweden and Greece. Russia are definitely the dark horses, there coming along very fast, they have Arshavin and the last time when Greece won Euro 2004 I think they also won Eurovision Spain are probably the biggest underachievers ever at big tournaments but this could be the year that they turn that around. Torres is on top form and if he can keep it up all through out the tournament then they will get far.
Darkzzz_ Posted 28 May 2008 Posted 28 May 2008 Well.... I have no choice, the missus is Italian, So i will be hoping they do it for her, but she knows i am looking forward to seeing Russia and Crotia play. At 33/1 i think i am going to stick £20 on Romania, they are a strong unit!!
hairy Posted 28 May 2008 Posted 28 May 2008 For some reason I think Russia. Its about time they proved themselves and the European finals have thrown up surprises in the past like Greece.
Number 6 Posted 28 May 2008 Posted 28 May 2008 For some reason I think Russia. Its about time they proved themselves and the European finals have thrown up surprises in the past like Greece. Russia will do better then expected I think. However, can see Greece and Spain progressing from that group.

Koke Posted 28 May 2008 Posted 28 May 2008 Since England are not featuring, Spain are now the official number one chokers in the tournament. France for me.
Darkzzz_ Posted 28 May 2008 Posted 28 May 2008 You may aswell give me the £20 You may eat your own words... Did you watch Euro 2004 ??

Mr Happy Posted 28 May 2008 Posted 28 May 2008 I'm backing The Netherlands, its about time they won a big tournament
Ultra Posted 28 May 2008 Posted 28 May 2008 When does this start? June 7th. Russia were dire at Wembley last year. Only injuries and McClaren's ineptitude allowed them to get this far. It's quite an open tournament, with six or seven potential winners, but if Spain perform to their potential for once, they could well go all the way this year.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 Germany are so strong at the minute that for me it's hard to look past them. Them or the Turks for me.
Father Ted Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 I'm backing Russia. Might even stick a cheeky couple of quid on it
shen Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 Portugal to win if Ronaldo keeps up his form. And they have the best coach of them all France to flop yet again, and Spain to miss out by a whisker as they usually do.
AoWW Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 My support will be based purely on the sexiness of the players... might as well have something of interest to focus on, just in case the football is shite. Gotta be Spain then - Torres... mmmm, yes please. Mind you, Italy have potential in that department too.
Ric Flair Posted 29 May 2008 Posted 29 May 2008 It really is a wide open tournament. I hope Spain can do themselves justice, but the team who very rarely under-achieve is the sensible bet and that's the Germans. France have the talent to piss it though.

It says a lot when they can leave out a 20-goal a season man in Trezeguet and a Team of the Year player in Clichy. Scary... I can't see Germany perform under Löw. Klinsmann was a talismanic figure for them and Löw has never convinced me...
