MC Prussian Posted 7 June 2008 Posted 7 June 2008 The tournament has never really got us excited up to this point. As our lives are not complete without complaining, the whole thing's had a rather uninspired effect on the local population so far. There's plenty of merchandise, newspaper ads and TV spots that circle around, but all in all, the atmosphere's pretty reserved. Family cars are circulating with these silly little national flags attached to them, but that's as far as we show our "passion". It's all gone pretty quiet, but I actually hope we can create some noise during the games. Also, seeing that the UEFA is earning a couple of billion Swiss Francs without having to pay taxes is not really helping, either. Me? I'll probably be off to those Public Viewing spots either here in Schaffhausen or further down south in Zurich, where I work.

The Dutch Food and Goods Authority said that about 30% of the wigs and boas worn by Holland fans could catch fire when near a cigarette or a lighter. (The Sunday Times)
