The "equal pay" argument is always going to be subjective because the idea of "what" the sportspeople should be remunerated for is likewise subjective. Degree of physical/mental exertion? Amount of revenue brought to the sportspeople? Other factors? A combination thereof?

I certainly wouldn't want to say that just because women play three sets and so apparently (subjectively) put less effort into a contest, that they don't deserve the same pay as the men.

A lot of factors:

- Psysical effort and strength.

- TV revenue.

- Sponsorships.

-,Popularity.

- Compared talent and skills.

I can go on and on. Some people do more in their jobs than their managers and earn half of the salary. If life was fair everyone would be happy, poverty would have been limited and we wouldn't make the same mistakes over and over again re wars.

Djokovic at 38 is unreal. Can see another final with Alcaraz, unless they meet before.

He's down to play Sinner in the semi final, who I think will have the skill and the patience to break him, but it will take a serious effort to do so with him on this form.

Absolutely agreed. Therefore IMO folks shouldn't look to reduce a complex issue to simple soundbites.

Kecmanovic is extremely slow for tennis at this level. He's simply unfit.

His next opponent de Minaur is the polar opposite, but I would still expect Djokovic to March on.

I went to Wimbledon yesterday and got tickets to Court One after camping out the day before. Great wins for Kartal, Norrie and then Mertens. I also met Anthony Joshua and Eddie Hearn outside which was a nice touch. Roasting hot day though!

The men's games are seriously tedious, especially in the earlier rounds where you get two big servers up against each other. You know it's going to 5 sets as neither of them can break serve.

I'd definitely support 3 sets until the QFs for the men in all slams. It'd make the earlier rounds quicker as well and they could get more games in per day. It would also throw up a few more upsets in the earlier rounds.

Women can't do 5 sets. It would massively increase injuries, and again, would extend the matches for too long.

Disagree grass plays more like clay these days hence why nobody plays serve and volley. The days of winning endless short points with a big serve   like in the days of Wayne Arthur Dick  Norman Rusedski  Goran  etc have long gone

Someone coming back from two sets down, or two sets to one down is what makes five set play exciting.  For many players it takes a set to just settle down and play their natural game. Three set play, even in the earlier rounds for me wouldn’t do justice to the competition.

Agree. 5 sets must not change for men. Tactics play a major role in 5 sets. Women can't play 5 sets, it's impossible and unfortunately their games lack any tactics unless the Top 5 in the ranking are involved. Even Sabalenka's tactical play vs Raducanu was awful and she admitted it in an interview.

Norrie trying to do the typically Brit-at-Wimbledon thing of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

How depressing.

Jarry givin* him nothing though

It's true.

A better player would find a way in shorter order, though, but then it's been obvious for a while where his ceiling is.

The men only play 5 sets in the Slams four times per year. They should be well used to playing 3 set matches already.
