I had to switch off towards the end of the fourth as I was leading a work meeting. All recorded, so I am looking forward to seeing what I missed later on today.

Comfortable win for both Rafa and Danii in the end ?

 

Certainly didn’t look like that 5 setter a couple of days ago took much out of Medvedev .

 

He will be keen to avenge that 2019 US open final .

It's all on Barty to win or lose though. She's dictating the match. When Collins took the big lead in set two it was mainly due to Barty dropping a level, she went back up a level and took the set back.

A pretty edgy final, to be expected though, just happy to see Ash get that monkey off her back when it comes to the Australian Open.

Is this doubles final best of 3 or 5 does anyone know? just wondering how long I am committing myself for!

There's been a question for a while about which of the younger generation of players was going to step up and really assert themselves at the top of the game. I think we finally have a clear answer after these last two grand slams.

When they do the slow motion shots, every other player looks graceful and powerful, Medvedev just doesn't look like a tennis player in those shots, he looks gangly and uncomfortable lol. Works for him though I guess, he'll soon be the holder of the two most recent slams and most likely world number 1 in a few weeks.

It’s going to happen. held prisoner , deported, not allowed to compete, now no longer joint leading grand slam winner, what a couple of weeks for everybody’s least favourite Serb.

Don't like Nadal, don't think he's better than the other 2 and don't think him being on 21 ahead of the them is a true reflection. But there something beautiful knowing that Novak will be sat at home knowing it could have been him here, but he made a twat of himself and missed the opportunity of getting to 21 first.
