So just quickly(Sorry mate, your the Aussie  spokesman!( what's the law on the vaccination program there?

You MUST be vaccinated unless exempt?

What happens if you refuse(You must have anti vaxxers there too?)

We have a lot of anti vaxxers, their is no law which requires citizens to be vaccinated, however, in Victoria where the open will take place a lot of occupations including healthcare workers, hospitality, trades people, teachers and professional sports have mandatory vaccination. So no jab, no job.
Many nonessential business will also require proof of vaccination status before you are allowed to enter the premises.

Hence, a lot of Australians who have been required to be vaccinated were not happy about a rich tennis player receiving an exemption.

I presume that is the end of it all ?

Probably good for the tournament in a way - attention will be on everyone not just one person

Yes it's the end of it now.

But what intrigues me is if the government keeps Novak out for three years. He's banned now, so, in theory he'll never be back here to play tennis.

Entry to the country is a federal issue, the Government control boarders, so it wouldn’t have mattered where in the country the open was played.

But they let him in, had a court case and was allowed to stay but THEN the Minister decided to kick him out.

It's all abit sh1t.

It’s massively shite and sums up this Australian Government. The one shining light from this is it could be the final nail in the coffin of the Morrison Government.

Anyway way this helps him? Granted a bit shambolic how it was discharged, but imagine it was a generally popular move?

As I understand it, the first court case was based on the presumption that the visa application was true.  The second was after it was found that the visa application contained at least one factual inaccuracy, about whether he had travelled internationally in the fortnight before going to Australia.

He had (as I understand it) three ways of legally travelling to Australia.

1.  Be vaccinated.

2.  Travel as normal and do 10 days' quarantine.

3.  Qualify for exemption and fill in a correct visa form.

Filling in an inaccurate visa form is not, and never has been, a way of getting into Australia.  Australian immigration is notoriously fussy about details, even if you aren't rich and famous.

It is good to see in this case being rich and famous is not the basis for an exception.  Earlier in the game, a number of rich and famous were allowed to quarantine at home when everyone else had to stay in a hotel.

I think most Australians support the outcome tbh.  They would have seen him turned away at the airport on day 1.

Absolutely, the result was the correct one, the method was shite and a farce.

The first court case was won by Novak on a technicality, he was given initially until 8:30 to produce supporting documentation by boarder force on arrival, they then canceled his Visa at 7:45 and didn’t give him the allocated time frame to produce his material.

The premise for the second court case was basically that he would stir up antivax sentiments in the community and therefor posed a risk to lawfulness in the country.

This is the problem in Oz.. the immigration minister has complete power (and ignores international law, because it please the racist right wingers)... and that's why we have refugees locked up for 9 years ......imagine arriving in aus as a 15 year old and now your 24 and always been in prison having committed no crime.

May be an image of 2 people, beard and text that says "Mehdi Ali @MehdiAli98 ・1h |came to Australia asking for safety when was just 15 years old. Now am 24 and still in detention. If I'm not a refugee, why would endure such a difficult time as a child if have the option to go back to where came from? Even then. I'm not safe in detention either. ICaMeto AuStralia Safety when asking for Was just 15 24 year aM"

Was a very handy distraction to empty shelves in supermarkets and corrupt Liberal party (Tory) mates charging $70 for a rapid Antigen Test.

When asked why they were charging so much.. surprisingly, none of them said.. suck it up bitch, thats capitalism, supply and demand you know!

Kyrgios too good for Broady. Thought Broady held his own as the set played out, but Kyrgios took early breaks and he couldn't get the break back.

What other player has managed to still be top 50 (perhaps even top 20) quality at singles level after a full hip replacement?

Amazing from Andy. Maybe, just maybe, he has one or two more Masters titles in the tank.

Though I think it's sad that he's won about half the Slams he probably deserved to.
