I was sympathetic towards Djokovic, but it seems (according to this article) that he went to several engagements while knowing he had covid, visited Spain while he should have been self-isolating in Serbia, and then lied about this on his arrival form in Australia.

He didn't have covid, his team will have just paid for a fake result in order to travel. It's why he didn't care.

She replaced her whole trainers and that right? Feels a bit like Genie Bouchard

I'd love to feel a bit of Eugenie Bouchard (provided she was open to that lol). Shes hot. Google image search, spank time.

You make an interesting point, however, this tournament isn’t played in England it’s played in Australia where professionals sports players have chosen to quit the game rather than take the vaccination.
It is mandatory in all professional sports to be vaccinated. Some players who refuse to get the vaccination are now unable to play the game - Liam Jones from Carlton in the AFL is one that springs to mind.
With this in mind, it adds to the frustration that Novak thinks he is entitled to special treatment. I am still hopeful that he will be deported in the next couple of days.

Didnt  know it was Monday to be vaccinated in Aus.

Blimey.

Thanks for your info and educating us, well me anyway

It’s all a bit bizarre.

On 15th December Djokovic could not play at the Aussie Open as he did not have a valid exemption. Then in 16th December he gets Covid, and can therefore get an exemption because in a little over 10 days time, he is visiting Australia, and he has just recovered from Covid.  What are the chances?

He is then seen out and about for a couple of days at public events with Covid?  Would someone in the public eye really do that?

Surprised the Aussie government aren’t making him do an antibody test.

He had covid in 2020 so he would have some show up  …..

Could be BS but some Aussie Journo on Talksport reckons The Aussie Government/border control are going offer him a deal to pull out with an "injury" or throw they book at him for BS'ing on his visa form about his prior whereabouts.

I don’t think Novax Djokovic has come out of this looking very good.

I don't think anyone has come out of this looking good, his legacy will be tainted.

I hope Emma pushes on and has a great career. She's not going to win every game and she still extremely inexperienced despite her being Slam champion, I think people who criticise and pick apart every match should remember that. Even if she doesn't win another Slam and has modertly successful career picking up the odd smaller title here and there she still achieved more than any other female tennis player in this country for over 40 years and did something no tennis player male or female has ever done in winning a Slam as a qualifier. Tbh, she could retire now and she'd still a hero, and the best British female tennis player for a generation.

I couldn’t have put this better myself.

She was always going to struggle to maintain what she achieved.

What happened at the US Open was like catching lightning in a bottle, it was so special. No one has ever achieved that and in a way, it’s as remarkable as our title win in 15/16.

To knock her now when she’s so down, is so British media. However, she should shun them when she goes back up.

Expect Novak to be on a plane and leaving Australia by the end of the day.

He may also face criminal charges for giving a false testimony in court this week.

You would think there is enough negatives against him now that they can politically justify sending him home.  I think it was pretty dice a day or so ago.

Cam Norrie vs Seb Korda

Emma Raducanu vs Sloane Stephens

🔥🔥🔥

Hopefully they get put on at a reasonable time 🤞🏻

Well that's not a friendly first round draw for Raducanu.

I guess it’s called a double fault, when your eliminated from a tennis tournament for missing two shots.

In all seriousness, right result but, an absolute shitshow from this incompetent Australian Government.
I do wonder what tactics were at play when announcing this at the close of business on a Friday evening.

Great win from Andy just now - into his first final since 2019. There's an App called Tennis One which is streaming the main court matches, if anyone wanted to catch his final tomorrow. Potentially he will be playing Dan Evans, so that will be an interesting one.
