Stephens was 68th in the world her next opponent is 99th.  If she can get past her (in the process putting together a couple of slam wins) she plays Halep. 

Think if she gets that far she'll be happy, as she had a really disjointed Autumn/Winter post US Open, no coach really for 3 months lack of continuity of play.

As far as her ranking is concerned, she has no pts to defend till Wimbledon, so if she can do well (last 16/quarters) on the US hard courts in March/April she could be top 10 by Wimbledon.

Great to see Andy winning as well, putting a few wins together in Oz, will play Sinner seeded 11th in the last 32 IF they both get that far, that will be tough, BUT fair to say nobody well ranked will really want to play him too early.

Also Evans seeded and going on and even Heather Watson winning, c'mon the Brits and they all play Thursday and then the weekend if they win that.
