Daggers Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 Mk Dons offered him a year, he came here and the fact that we are a real team blew him away.
Unabomber Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 Can't be arsed to read pages of the thread.Who the fooking hell is Lloyd Dyer. Try the OS or Wikipedia Good fix
billyfox1 Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 Amazing that MKDons only offered him a one year deal given what he has done for them in the past season and a half. It all seems to be going wrong for them doesn't it. Lets hope it carrys on till Sun Aug 10th
Joe. Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 It all seems to be going wrong for them doesn't it. Lets hope it carrys on forever. Ammended.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 Thats what we like to hear!! More sir? Dons Fan -"gutted lloydy has gone was really good for us last year. Was very incosistent (sic) under Allen though he'll get a good reception when we play you" Huddersfield Fan "Lloyd Dyer is ****ing quick." Huddersfield Fan No.2 "Was dyer released or refused to sign a new contract? Seems a strange one when you already have league one's best winger in Gradel Leeds Fan He's pretty good. Probably one of the best wingers in this league. I wouldn't say he rips every team apart though, he wasn't that successful in our 2-0 win over Bournemouth. He's good, not God.
Joe. Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 I can see it now Dyer --- Clemence/Weso/Oakley/Adams --- Gradel
RedOnRed Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 He's definitely useful and should be a first team regular/key player. He's a bit of an odd shape. He reminds me of that Nottingham Forest player from quite a few years ago with no neck. He's got a useful shot...when it's occasionally on target.

Bryn Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 I think Clemence and Oakley will both probably go. No loss. Dyer Adams/King Wesolowski Gradel I think we've got a pretty good chance of keeping Wesolowski, I think his lack of play time last season has seen him slip under the radar a bit which is good for us. I'm very happy with the look of that midfield on paper.
James. Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 I'm very happy with the look of that midfield on paper. Uh-oh. I've heard that before...

It does look really promising but I think if we do loose both Clem and Oakley we need another experienced holding/defensive central midfielder for cover, as Adams, Dyer and Gradel all seem very attack minded.

I don't think either Clemence nor Oakley are really holding players anyway. Wesolowski is the closest thing we've got to one and I think he's pretty good at it. Depending on what other players come in, we could even be looking at a 4-3-3, which is harder to pull off but can be pretty effective - it's the formation Forest used to get promotion. That could involve Weso as the holder, and King or another CM. Striker Dyer----------------------GradelAdams-------KingWesolowski
dandannieldanok Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 Appears to be an astute signing, with his age he could well be reaching his prime and he's shown how creative he can be for MK Dons.

RowlattsFox Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 Nicky Adams. He reminds me of someone, but I can't think who it is. Looks a right scoundrel, hope he upsets a few folk on the pitch. Alan Hutton? Thats that what I thought when I first seen him.
MikeyT Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 Mk Fans thoughts"The club have really ****ed up here if true, I have heard they didn't offer him a new deal, if that is true then someone needs shooting. He was IMO our best player last season, to let him go for nothing is criminal." "Can't blame him, he has to earn a living. The club have royally ****ed up here. This makes me mad." "Oh well the loss of Dyer is a shame. Great player for us. " "I'm gutted" "Maybe the player didnt sign a new contract because he knew he could earn more elsewhere by going on a bosman? I'm surprised a mid table CCC team didnt come in for him to be honest." "I'm sorry but we've messed up here. Manager or not, Pete should have tied him in to another contract as he would have been essentially for our push on next season." "OMG we're playing against them first game of the season... Shock FFS though, he's our best player IMHO" I'm stunned! hehe But very happy! Cant wait for the new season now! Please let him be as good for us as he was for the Dons, actually far better please!
DB11 Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 "In fact I have also played under Ian Holloway, Gary Megson and Martin Allen during my career - so you could say I know a bit about Leicester already." Wth?
DB11 Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 What about it? Just cos he has worked under ex managers how does that mean he knows about Leicester City
Bert Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 Seems he has his head screwed on, and just wants to play football.
Unabomber Posted 1 July 2008 Posted 1 July 2008 Just cos he has worked under ex managers how does that mean he knows about Leicester City Tbh I would take that comment with a pinch of salt (ignore it)
