Tribunal to set the fee. Not sure how this works (remember we had to pay quite a bit for Williams through one from Forrest) Would be pleased with 300 - 500k

60.2.4 education and welfare requirements

60.2.5 playing and training strip and other clothing

60.2.6 medical and first aid facilities

60.2.7 friendly and competitive matches and overseas tours.

60.3 Any other costs incurred by the transferor club directly attributable to the training and development of players including any compensation fee referred to in regulation 60.4.3.

oh dear.

Thracian is writing something.lol

Well, either it is a mammoth post which has taken 18 minutes (and counting), he gave up, or he did post it and it sparked a row and got deleted.

It's our loss and Leeds gain.

Mattock is off and currently we have nothing at left-back.

I'd have kept him.

What's that coming over the hill? :o

Oh sh it. It's Chris Makin. It's Chris Makin.

What's that coming over the hill.

It's Chris Makiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin.

No great loss. He'd have done a decent job at this level, but he didn't want to stay, so i'm not bothered. There's plenty of left backs as good or better than him about. As we keep thieving players and managers from MKDons, let's go for Lewington from them.

Damn - now you've quoted me I have no chance of adding the errant apostrophe.

I feel so cheap and nasty.

He's actually really sh*t, and has ginger hair. We don't like gingers here. That's the rule

Well, if he didnt want Leicester as we're led to believe then he can fook off quite frankly. Had potential but also had many weaknesses. Again hopefully we can do better.

I'm pretty confident that the contract offer was the bare minimum to ensure he wouldn't say yes but guarantee a pay-off when he went elsewhere.

I'm not surprised this has happened.

My personal belief in Sheehan as a far better and more productive alternative to an ageing ball-giver like Clapham was clearly justified by our subsequent loss of Sheehan-inspired goals and our final humiliating relegation due in great part to a lack of those goals.

But none of that disguises the fact that Sheehan had become unhappy at Leicester and was always heading for Leeds if the offer came, especially an offer as good as a three-year contract. So what might have been no longer matters.

It also means, with two young full-backs already gone, that the theoretical idea of building a passing team around our best ex-Academy players has virtually disappeared though that's not to say we can't be fast and direct with other players.

I'm more interested now in what Pearson actually does than whoever else goes out of the door and activity today sounds promising.

There is more than one route to any destination but if Pearson ignores fast/direct and instead goes the laboured and so far flawed "tourist route" of rustic old pro's and supplementary loanees (which thankfully seems less likely now judging by today's signings) then he'll need the magic touch of Harry Redknapp and good luck to him in that respect cos he'll need it.

But you never know and I do wish him the best. I doubt there was anything he could do about the departures of Sheehan/Stearman/McAuley and Chairman Mandaric won't be complaining.

With a bit more coming from Sheehan and Mattock/Campbell expected to leave at anytime how much will our commercially astute chairman have brought in now compared to the likely final cost of his buying the club - the real cost not the Blanderson headline?

I doubt the figures would be far apart and if so, Mandaric must be feeling like he's been asked to sell the last nuggets of someone else's gold mine and to do as he chooses with the money.

I just hope that when our young assets have gone Pearson has replaced them and we're not just left with debts if and when new owner Mandaric finally sells out. But that's another issue.

As for Sheehan individually, he's obviously impressed Leeds and will now have the opportunity to show whether he was wasted by Leicester or not. I thought his last reserve game showed the full range of his abilities - just like Mattock in the FA Youth Cup against Palace - and if he ever reproduces that form consistently at first team level we have lost a gem.

Sadly I believe what McAllister said in that we never really kept him fit enough, sharp enough or motivated enough at Leicester towards the end of his time here. At first team level he tended to be a fall guy just like Mattock and King and, with Sheehan, it didn't go down well.

Time will tell but if he shows the right application and gets the right support, I'm quite sure Sheehan has the ability to become a full international.

Is this what brought you out of your strike?

What were you striking about anyway?

We all quite enjoyed it.

I've not enjoyed it. Thracian's post kept me interested. I think many other people probably say the same thing.

I'm guessing you're not black, old, a traffic warden, a chosen man, a law abiding driver or someone who would claim drink-driving to be wrong then?

Disappointed to lose Sheehan as he would have been decent at this level and his dead ball delivery is very threatening.

If Mattock leaves, this leaves us exposed at left back and i personally wouldn't want Ian Harte as a replacement for two of our youth academy products.

This was always going to happen and is a perfect example of how clueless Holloway actually was.

He offloaded Sheehan on loan to Leeds United and replaced him with Jamie Clapham, who i think is one of the worst players i've ever seen.

Sheehan was recalled only to want to play for Leeds and Clapham was susbequently offloaded.

Thanks again Ollie.

Is a bit of a shame, I was never his greatest fan, but he could do a job, and takes a good set-piece. Hopefully Mattock will stay because we will be short of numbers in the left-back department, unless Nige has got someone lined up.

Wish him all the best for the future.
