Matty Fryatt and DJ Campbell scored the goals for the Foxes on the night. Former Portsmouth winger Mladen Rudonja gave the home side the lead on eight minutes, before Fryatt found the net five minutes into the second half. Leicester looked like they would grab the victory when DJ Campbell put them ahead on 80 minutes, but Olimpja equalised in the final minute. City: Henderson, Gilbert, Morrison, Tunchev, J Chambers (Rowe-Turner), Adams (Gradel), Kishishev (Wesolowski), Oakley, Porter (A Chambers), Howard (Campbell), Fryatt. Scorers Matty Fryatt - 50 DJ Campbell - 80
davieG Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 I was first Aye by seconds probably because I posted the report.
syston_fox Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 So thats 6 goals conceeded in 2 games .... i know these are only friendlies but thats a little concerning especially letting in two against this lot with arguably the first choice players at the back
Asha Posted 16 July 2008 Author Posted 16 July 2008 Aye by seconds probably because I posted the report. It's alright So, we narrowly beat a Conference North side, and then only draw against a 2nd division Slovenian team. Ace.
FleckneyFox Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 Hmmm, got to say first couple of results arent great seeing as Notts County beat these boys a couple of days ago. I think we need a new keeper and a couple of strikers. Sort it out Nigel!
davieG Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 Left back seems to be a weakness, I know by all accounts Chambers played well against Hinckley but he is a RB and Rowe-Turner doesn't seem to be the short term solution or even cover from what I've seen.

I think we need a new keeper and a couple of strikers. Sort it out Nigel! As we seem to be scoring goals albeit against 'weaker opposition that doesn't seem to be the priority that the defence is. Having said that, the defence were playing together for the first time in effect.
Father Ted Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 Left back seems to be a weakness, I know by all accounts Chambers played well against Hinckley but he is a RB and Rowe-Turner doesn't seem to be the short term solution or even cover from what I've seen. Even more reason to hold onto Mattock. And tbh, a dissapointing result.
syston_fox Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 I'll be pissed if Gradel isn't first choice this season Why? On the performance against Hinckley, Adams looked the more comfortable and used the ball well for the majority of the time, something that Gradel didn't do. Both scored goals - one a belter from distance, another a great team goal with a brilliant off the ball run. Whoever starts against MK Dons will be in the team on merit not on what has gone on before Pearson arrived
Finn Claw Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 how anyone can have really strong views on an of the new signings before seeing them play a few competitive games is beyond me. Good to see the strikers scoring goals
Poakey Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 It's alright So, we narrowly beat a Conference North side, and then only draw against a 2nd division Slovenian team. Ace. Not having a go but can we at least wait a few league games before we start slagging the team of?Just cant wait to get started can you!!
Daggers Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 Last season everyone was going nuts predicting our rise into the Premiership after the first couple of friendlies - this season it's the other way around. We should split this forum into two during close season for those who believe friendly results mean something and the other for the rest of us who retain a semblance of perspective.
Unabomber Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 Just for fitness, the result doesn't mean anything, as long as we win/perform well in the games that matter.
l444ry Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 Just for fitness, the result doesn't mean anything, as long as we win/perform well in the games that matter. Up to a point, yes. That can be said if the losing side has a proven history of winning which this can be judged against. In our case, though, the team is trying to gel into Pearson's tactics as well as get match fit, so the results are more important for confidence and belief.
Hullfox Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 I'd be happier if we could wait for forum members who were there to get back home and tell us how it really was.
rickylcfc Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 Good result away from home & we should have beat them.
Asha Posted 16 July 2008 Author Posted 16 July 2008 Not having a go but can we at least wait a few league games before we start slagging the team of?Just cant wait to get started can you!!
teblin Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 Results not important really, as long as the players get used to what Big nige wants, get fir and sharp ready for a crack at promotion. Get the feeling we will get a left back in, Milan said pearson wanted 7 players. I'm guessing the other 2 are a striker and a left back.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 Not having a go but can we at least wait a few league games before we start slagging the team of?Just cant wait to get started can you!! ^^^Fair comment, I'd say^^^
Mark Posted 16 July 2008 Posted 16 July 2008 We should play Gradel on the left if Adams is right midfield, he's more than capable on either wing.
