Not having a go but can we at least wait a few league games before we start slagging the team of?Just cant wait to get started can you!!

Second that, well said.

Regarding Gradel, I think everyone is expecting too much of him after last season already. They've had a break, they need time.

If you win pre-season games people say its good, it breeds confidence etc but if you don't win then they don't matter, its all about fitness etc.

I'm suprised we only used 16 players, and the team that started look pretty close to what I expect 1st game of the season. Atleast our strikers seem to be getting on the scoresheet.

Olimpija Ljubljana 2-2 Leicester City Posted on: Wed 16 Jul 2008

Leicester City battled out a 2-2 draw with Slovenian side Olimpija Ljubljana on Wednesday evening.

Matty Fryatt and DJ Campbell scored the goals for the Foxes on the night.

Former Portsmouth winger Mladen Rudonja gave the home side the lead on eight minutes, before Fryatt found the net five minutes into the second half.

Leicester looked like they would grab the victory when DJ Campbell put them ahead on 80 minutes, but Olimpja equalised in the final minute.

City: Henderson, Gilbert, Morrison, Tunchev, J Chambers (Rowe-Turner), Adams (Gradel), Kishishev (Wesolowski), Oakley, Porter (A Chambers), Howard (Campbell), Fryatt.

Scorers

Matty Fryatt - 50

DJ Campbell - 80

Looks suspiciously like a first choice rather than experimental team that.

Surprised to see Kishishev in there though and no Gradel

2 in 2 for Fatty Fry-up! lol

That's encouraging in that any striker wants to be scoring goals against any opposition.

Even last season Fryatt never had much trouble scoring in the reserves and I do think he'll get on a lot better in Divison One than the Championship for all the reasons I've detailed in the past.

I don't think we should start making any assumptions just yet but at least he's putting himself in the manager's thoughts.

id prefer to see a pairing of tunchev and worley at the back if im honest.... think that would be our strongest pairing, this isnt including kisnorbo in my thoughts by the way.

can we not make a cheeky bid for Dean Gerken, Colly ain't exactly flush with cash and they have a new ground to pay for ... Henderson just fills me with dread and Logan was hardly brilliant when on loan last season ...

Why haven't hayes and sappleton even been involved yet. I thought everyone is to be given a chance according to nigel!

because they didn't travel to Slovenia

Last season everyone was going nuts predicting our rise into the Premiership after the first couple of friendlies - this season it's the other way around.

We should split this forum into two during close season for those who believe friendly results mean something and the other for the rest of us who retain a semblance of perspective.

Could we not just have one forum for the idiots and one for the rest of us :P Oh hang on... I forgot about TB... :D

I was thinking we should just have an Over-Reaction/Knee-Jerk Reaction thread. It'd get plenty of use I reckon :D

Hayles has been told to go (and returned from holiday injured) whereas the Sappletizer is just injured.

Because then I'd be torn between the forum for realists and the forum for idiots. Let's just keep idiots out of the equation.

I recon we shoudl give Sappleton a little run out at least, he will loose intrest in us far too easy if we dont.

and i wouldnt say hayes is shit, he is just as good as people like Adams and would be very reasonable cover on the left.

but at the end of the day its up to the gaffer, we will see.

Friendlies give no clue as to how the season will unfold, we played brilliantly against Fiorentina and drew 3-3 back in 2001, versus real quality opposition, but in the whole season, we never played that well at all, nowhere near in fact.

If we struggle in the first few league matches I will be worried, but not after two friendlies.

I dont think expecting is the word I would use, after the shite served up in previous seasons and relegation in the last, try....

DEMAND!

:protest:

Who ever plays this season, had better hit the fakin floor running !!!

I want ((WINS)) nothing else, not interested in any sort of excuses, from the first League game we better be in the top 2 and stay there!!!!... :yesyes:
