I must admit I get very frustrated when he does well to hold it up, plays it out wide but then doesn't appear to make a real effort to get in the box, he probably wouldn't get there even if he tried but it looks bad on him if hes just strolling to the box.

Not having a go though because he is worth his place in the side at the minute. I can't believe he has not scored a header for us yet and he hasn't really come close to scoring a header either. For someone who has made a career out of scoring headed goals its quite strange.

Howard is always going to frustrate. But the goals scored by our twin strikers so far speak for themselves to a great extent, especially considering Howard has also had several goals disallowed.

I like DJ and think Dickov has his good points too but have either showed they would be a consistently better alternative? Not to me. I would look to involve either or both for the last half-hour whenever sensible because I think an hour is plenty for Howard anyway and Fryatt has sometimes run out of ideas and explosive energy by then.

But all the stats suggest Pearson has it right in his starting pair.

One has to presume then that you are either too pissed up to notice what is happening or too blinkered to understand.

Having a pop at a poor performance is one thing, albeit an over-reaction - but trying to claim he has been poor all season is sublime idiocy.

He's been a revelation this season, his biggest handicap is not his lack of pace, it's the idiots who won't let themselves see the improvement and get on his back regardless.

Yes, because DJ is likely to bag us plenty with the finishing ability he has displayed for us thus far.. :blink:

How many goals would Howard be on this season had all of his efforts not been ruled out? My guess is he'd be level with Fryatt? :unsure:

There needs to be less Howard bashing on here. He appears to be a bit of a donkey but even still, with him in the side we look threatening. He wins most of the headers lumped his way and puts himself about like a ten-dollar Vietnamese hooky. I'm liking him this season as well as Fryatt. If Fryatt was a half-yard quicker to get onto the balls Howard puts his way he'd have 50 goals by the end of the season. But nevertheless, these two up front will create and if Howard can get himself into the middle more, he'll get goals too. I think our problems lie in the centre of midfield... :whistle::ph34r:
