MC Prussian Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 Now this can but mean a convincing win against MK Dons this Saturday. We're going to roll over them with our new old 2-3-5 formation*. *with Barry Hayles on the bench for 90 minutes

Toby or not Toby Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 Hope he finds the form he did at Blackpool at the end of last season and we will be laughing

Ashley Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 'Dickov talks' - Can someone with World watch that and tell us what he's got to say. Please x I'm glad we've got Dickov, He says in the interview that Pearson wanted him which is a good thing, atleast he isnt a Milan signing.
dave_the_fox Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 Also shows loads of his goals from before for us, forgot how good some were! and about how many assists Brian Deane must have got!
mb2251 Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 'Dickov talks' - Can someone with World watch that and tell us what he's got to say. Please x # Spoke to Nigel 7 weeks ago and basically agreed then to join. Was asked to be patient by NP. (no reason given on the video) # Easy decision to make # Has had a full pre-season with Man City # Hopes to score the goals to bring some success to the club # Acknowledged the stick he got after leaving - jokingly said that fewer people would turn up on saturday now ;-) # Happy to pass some of his knowledge onto the youngsters (hopefully the right kind).
act smiley Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 More like Pearson knows to shut up and say "ok" to it if he wants to last out the month. Well, thats probably a worst-case scenario. Rather worried by the 2-year deal, though, if it goes wrong it means it'll have gone wrong in style.
Darkzzz_ Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 I am happy with it. Hope the second spell is as good! Come on City.
SamL Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 I believe that the last time Mr. Dickov played against Wimbledon/MK Dons he scored a hatrick. Welcome back Paul, hope you do well for us.
Thracian Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 I'm pleased about Dickov and we've done well to win his signature. We badly need a front post man and someone to get deep into the box. DJ is quick and elusive but I'm not sure he's quite as natural a finisher as Dickov as levels get higher. I sure the added competition will be valuable and that all our strikers will play their part. It would be no surprise to see Hayles leave and people like McKay/Sappleton move out on loan. I'd be surprised if Dickov started Saturday. It's already been said he needs a couple of weeks to achieve match sharpness and it would be ridiculous to see him injured just for the sake of taking those few days to acclimatise properly. His presence on the bench or around the dugout would probably serve to motivate his rivals. If they need any additional motivation for the first League match.
Tilley Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 Is he going into Saturday's squad? Hayles has to go now & some of the younger lads could probably benefit from a loan spell of some sort.
Benji Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 I like his light-hearted humour about the stick he got I don't care personally so long as he gets a few goals
Ashley Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 He's been in pre seaon training with Manchester City due to Mark Hughes being at Blackburn the same time as Dickov was there.
Brenfox Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 Can someone be kind enough to pm me the link to watch the interview please
Toby or not Toby Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 Good that Man City allowed him to train with them, shows you how much respect they have for him, keeping him there while he finds himself a new club.
Ashley Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 Can someone be kind enough to pm me the link to watch the interview please Lcfc world viewers only. I'm sure there will be an interview on eastmidlands today or one of the news channels later.
Darkzzz_ Posted 7 August 2008 Posted 7 August 2008 I quite enjoyed that interview with Dickov, he clearly wants to do well for this club having rejected the chance to play higher with Blackpool. Either that or we were offering more wages. Ok maybe the latter. I don't care as long as he does his job and scores, Who will be the regular front two then?? Will Dickov be used in rotation??
