Uncle Albert Posted 19 August 2008 Posted 19 August 2008 I was pooing myself night before I got my results but I was on holiday so I had to wait for a while people got all of theres, nerves were pretty bad. But I did alright passed everything except Science which pissed me off. The worst things about results days are the little twats who cry when they only got a B when they wanted an A. And there are people crying and are upset because they cant stay on. Twats. Anyway GCSE's are nothing compared to A Levels. Fact.

Asha Posted 19 August 2008 Posted 19 August 2008 Never understood the people who insist they NEED 10 A*s. I've only ever aimed for C's.
Uncle Albert Posted 19 August 2008 Posted 19 August 2008 Never understood the people who insist they NEED 10 A*s. I've only ever aimed for C's. You should always aim for the highest possible achievment. You are aiming for the Play-Offs while they are aiming for Automatic promotion.
Libertine Posted 19 August 2008 Posted 19 August 2008 Fair enough aim for A*s and so forth but don't ****ing whine when you get an A. Some people would kill for that.
Unabomber Posted 19 August 2008 Posted 19 August 2008 If you are going on to higher education as long as you get 5 C's at least then it doesn't matter. The A levels and potential degrees obviously matter a lot more.
lildave3 Posted 19 August 2008 Posted 19 August 2008 Just to make you all feel better and relaxed, even I got 5 C's.
Samilktray Posted 19 August 2008 Posted 19 August 2008 Just to make you all feel better and relaxed, even I got 5 C's.

Benji Posted 19 August 2008 Posted 19 August 2008 Relatively speaking GCSE's are easier than A Levels, or to be more accurate, the transition to A Levels is harder than any you will come across. IMO a degree is no harder than your A Levels (and is only as time consuming as you make it). It is very much about the 5 C's, it's just the general minimum an employer uses if anything at all. Although at the minute i'm being asked for everything from Degree module results all the way to GCSEs. Still, good luck everyone hope you all get what you want!
Jaspa Posted 20 August 2008 Author Posted 20 August 2008 Does anybody know what time you have to get to the school to pick the results up?, or do you just stroll in?
Asha Posted 20 August 2008 Posted 20 August 2008 Does anybody know what time you have to get to the school to pick the results up?, or do you just stroll in? I wanted to know this as well. I was told 11 but it's an unreliable source.
Tabou Posted 20 August 2008 Posted 20 August 2008 I wanted to know this as well. I was told 11 but it's an unreliable source.
David O'Leary Posted 20 August 2008 Posted 20 August 2008 I wanted to know this as well. I was told 11 but it's an unreliable source. It's 11 'till 12.30 at Rawlins. Don't know for other schools
Alexikokopops Posted 20 August 2008 Posted 20 August 2008 IMO a degree is no harder than your A Levels (and is only as time consuming as you make it). You've obviously never done Maths or Stats at degree level then! A levels for them were a breeze, far from it at Uni.
Dr The Singh Posted 20 August 2008 Posted 20 August 2008 You've obviously never done Maths or Stats at degree level then! A levels for them were a breeze, far from it at Uni. That's because of the copious amounts of alcohol, missed lessons and general lack of study you do during your uni days!!!
Benji Posted 20 August 2008 Posted 20 August 2008 You've obviously never done Maths or Stats at degree level then! A levels for them were a breeze, far from it at Uni. I suppose with that though you have to go into ridiculous detail purely because as a core subject you've done the basics throughout your education. With law for most it's the first time anyone has come across it, probably why our first year is so relaxed.
Monk Posted 20 August 2008 Posted 20 August 2008 Good luck all those who will be picking up their results tomorrow. I know it's a bit of a nervous time as I remeber.... a decade ago.
Bryn Posted 20 August 2008 Posted 20 August 2008 Aye to the guy who said you need Maths and English, that's v true. Tbh I dunno why they bother making some kids do 10 GCSEs. The ones who really hate education, just make em do Maths and English and give them the rest of the week off for some kind of training, would make far more sense. No matter what you get tomorrow, just realise that they're nothing compared to what's to come. Be ready to step up and I mean it, if you want to go places you have to get working now.

Libertine Posted 20 August 2008 Posted 20 August 2008 Cheers Burnham, I've decided that next year I'm going to have to try harder. What you gonna do bebs?
Simi Posted 20 August 2008 Posted 20 August 2008 Cheers Burnham, I've decided that next year I'm going to have to try harder. Ahh the old try harder next year gag. I've been using that for quite a while now. Next year is the one though.
Asha Posted 20 August 2008 Posted 20 August 2008 What you gonna do bebs? A levels. Psychology, Business Academy, Law (if get C in English) and Maths (if get B in maths)
