Cup full of sulphuric acid to the face would be a more than appropriate fate for the vile piece of shit.

He'll get his in prison.

This really is a serious question, and I’m sure I’ve asked it many times on here .And I'm certainly not thinking of any individual

FT posters , but I'm asking in a general way that seems to include many of us in our society

Please tell me why a person can be so much against corporal /capital punishment meted out by the state , and then utter that they really hope they receive all sorts of tortuous and barbaric kangaroo court punishments from equally despicable characters in the prison ?

All the arguments relating to wrongful convictions etc apply just the same in these circumstances

edit;

i actually include myself in this because i feel the same about it

I agree, it's very inconsistent to say "I don't agree with corporal/capital punishment" and then when something like this happens call down all kinds of vicious inhumanity on the perpetrator. Often you will find these people not wanting it for murderers and the like, but wanting to rip the heads of paedophiles and rapists. I am in no way saying that these things are not terrible things, just... perspective people!

Shane Jenkins is clearly a grade A gutterslug though.

With me certain crimes bring out my reaction. If some lad shoots another in a gangland murder i do not feel so angry about it,but things like this make me spit with rage.I live only a little way from where Ian Cuntly killed Holly and Jessica and i used to play cricket against Kevin Wells, one of the fathers,it was a bit close to home for my liking and i want him to live for years and suffer regular beatings and be scared shitless every day of his life.

I guess it's more of a fantasy than a hard desire to see any of these things happen. I wouldn't wish any of the above on him but if it happened I wouldn't be upset.

State sanctioned corporal punishment would in effect put blood on all our hands. He decided to remove himself from our society the second he committed that act, society doesn't deserve his blood on our hands no matter what he's done. He'll go to prison which is a society unto itself and what happens in there happens, more like chaos over order I guess. But maybe that's a way of distancing ourselves too much.

Because we all like to deal in polar opinions and treat issues in life as though they are Boolean.

In reality it makes hypocrites of us all.

I like to think of my opinions as quantum ideas - all of them can be right and wrong until some shit examines them :D

I am against capital punishment and for human rights. That is, while the perpetrator of the crime is in jail they should be treated right and given the opportunity to rehabilitate. But if they were to be found hanging in their cell, I would not join the bandwagon to say they were forced to do it or have a lot of sympathy for them.

I found out recently from someone that works to help ex-offenders that over 70% of those in prison have a mental health problem which medically speaking means they should not be there. Could be part of the reason why the prisons are over crowded.

I might be reading you wrong, but are you saying if it's someone with no connection to you, then that's ok?

Social cleansing is the way to go.

Criminals, chavs, nobs who sit there claiming benefits, Daggers etc.

Idiots breed idiots.

More the fact that every case is not the same. Different crimes can invoke different emotions. For example I have a deep hatred reserved for those who abuse children. I still think any form of unwarranted abuse towards adults is reprehensible, but I still hate those child abusers just that little bit more. Hence why this:

...is a really stupid way of looking at things, a lot of the time. (I'm agreeing with you there, Daggers, not calling you stupid.... honest ;))

Is there any particular reason why you feel it necessary to insult my children? :dunno:

Is your opinion, but you only have to look at this forum, Twitter, the print media et al to see that it is how society behaves.

See the politically motivated on here - they define everything in terms of left and right, vilifying whichever side they aren't. All criticism of one point of view must mean you support the polar opposite opinion!

I agree, which is why I rarely get involved in these debates. Some of them I might get painted as a right wing neo-Nazi and some as a tree-hugging hippy. Perhaps there's a new niche for people who chain themselves to trees shouting "JUDEN RAUS!" :D
