I'm relieved it wasn't just me. >_<

Same as me!

I'm with you.

laugh.gif You heartless people

(I'll admit I was as disgusted with the spelling & grammar than the actions as well).

lol

Glad it wasn't just me.

The funniest part for me was the ending, where he crossed out the correctly spelled 'remorse' and replaced it with 'remores.'

Nothing to do with that at all. The Executive and Judiciary are two independent branches. I'm not aware of an new sentencing guidelines, either.

Perhaps the courts are just realising they need to impose sentences that act as more of a deterrent.

I know they are two separate entities but doesn't one influence the other?

For example during the riots earlier this year I'm sure the government were putting pressure in the judiciary to clamp down very hard.

They aren't mutually exclusive, or at least I didn't think so.

The letter seems heartless but what did it do other than offer a warning? He said their curtainds were drawn back, a window was open at the back and the house was in a high risk area for burgalries. It could have been any of the local tea-leafs that broke into that house. The majority of burgalries occur on properties where even the simplelist precautions are not taken.

The letter writing was supervised and was confiscated. It was made public as an example to show how easy it is to break into some homes and serve as a warning. The thief was only 16 so has a lot of growing up to do. We do not know how he has been brought up and how much right and wrong has been installed into him. He may not have any remorse at the moment but if given the right guidence instead of beating him (which may be the reason he has no respect for others) he will be remorseful later on in his life.

Haha! Perhaps I chose my phrasing poorly!

On a serious note, I think people tend to associate the 'right' with authoritarianism which, in reality, is more compatible with leftism.

The political compass is fun and interesting: Test how fascist / commie you really are!

I am a centre left Libertarian.

A female passenger was left fighting for life after being struck by a concrete slab hurled from a bridge onto a busy main road. The woman suffered severe head and chest injuries when the slab smashed through the windscreen of the car at 10.20pm on Thursday.

Police said they were treating the attack, which took place from the West Hanningfield bridge on the A12, near Chelmsford, Essex, as attempted murder. The woman, from Harold Hill, Essex, was rushed to Chelmsford's Broomfield Hospital suffering life-threatening injuries, including multiple fractures, chest and head injuries.

The driver of the vehicle escaped with minor cuts.

Police are linking the incident to a similar attack less than an hour earlier, in which a car was struck by a block of concrete. The passenger and driver escaped injury but were left shaken and upset by the attack.

East of England Ambulance service spokesman Gary Sanderson said: 'First and foremost this is a despicable act to carry out.

'We believe the concrete was thrown from a bridge across the carriageway when it collided with the car entering the windscreen and hitting the woman'

'On arrival of the ambulance crews, the woman was found with serious chest and head injuries and following rapid treatment, stabilisation and immobilisation by the paramedics and doctor, she was taken to an awaiting trauma team at Broomfield Hospital.'

An Essex Police spokesman said: 'Detectives are linking both incidents and treating both as attempted murder.

'Both bridges have been taped off while forensic investigations continue"

A Moroccan man kidnapped a three-year-old girl, murdered her, wrested her heart out of her chest and cut the body into pieces before he started cooking the parts. Her parents who entered the killer's house stood in horror watching him preparing their own daughter as his meal.

The girl went missing in the northern town of Tangier on Sunday, triggering a massive police manhunt. Her parents were told by a local resident that he had seen a man taking the child into his apartment.

"The parents rushed to that flat in the hope they will find their daughter… when they were in, they were stunned… their daughter lay before their eyes cut into many pieces while the killer had already taken her heart out of her chest and placed it in a container to cook it," the Moroccan daily Hespress said.

"They then saw him cutting onion and adding spice to the remaining parts of her body…he has already started cooking the girl's hands and legs… it was an unprecedented savagery that also stunned the police themselves."

The paper said police arrested the man, who was identified as Abdul Rahim. It said he was born in 1981 and had migrated to Spain for nearly 13 before returning to Morocco around three years ago.

"Forensic experts are examining parts of the girl to determine whether she had been raped before she was murdered," it said.

Words fail me to describe how disgusting that is.
