Darkzzz_ Posted 17 March 2009 Author Posted 17 March 2009 Not sure if anyone seen Mascara's wonderful halfway line strike against Palermo the weekend before last. Well the lad has been at it again only a week on, the keeper should have done better but he still had to score it. Mascara goal: http://www.101greatgoals.com/videodisplay/2222214/ Check Imbrahimovic's goal if you haven't already seen it, you will find it on the above site, a truly stunning goal. Serie A was pretty special at the weekend, a great way for them to bounce back after the disappointment in the CL. Sebastian Giovinco was in fine form for Juve in their demolition of Bologna and Milan were outstanding against Siena, thrashing them 5-1, Pato is going from strength to strength and I am hoping to see Milan back in the CL next season. Elsewhere Roberto Donadoni got his first point in charge of Napoli away at bottom side Reggina and Chievo moved out of the bottom 3 with a fine 3-0 away win at Lazio, Genoa are still going about their outstanding season and may well end up in a European place come the end of the season, they won 1-0 away Cagliari. Overall it was a great weekend in Serie A, I only managed to watch the Juve game and the Milan game in full but the rest I watched in highlights on Rai Sport.
Floating Fox Posted 18 March 2009 Posted 18 March 2009 VfL Lost 3-0 at home to Bayern, and are now missing 4 centre backs after Pfzertzel got sent off. Level on points but just out the relegation zone on goal difference. Going to be tough but I think they could do it.
MC Prussian Posted 18 March 2009 Posted 18 March 2009 Would like to do a footie ground trip to Italy at one point, covering the North (Milan, Bergamo), Northwest (Torino, Genoa), Northeast (Venezia, Udinese, Trieste) and Tuscany (Fiorentina, Siena, Livorno & Arezzo). MASSIVE undertaking.

Something I have wanted to do myself. I have done a few games in Italy but would love to cover some of the others. Napoli is a dive, a real eyesore to look at but for atmosphere it is class, I haven't experienced anything like it. They are very passionate people that's for sure.
Joe. Posted 18 March 2009 Posted 18 March 2009 You know what Joe, If Atletico were consistent they could actually challenge for La Liga. They clearly have a good side, they are a confidence team aren't they, as soon as they get that big win they start (In Pardews words) "Raping" everyone. I know, they've proved that they can compete against the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona, but as you say, they're not consistent enough to challenge. Recent form has been very patchy, but it looks like they're coming back into some form once again. Aguero and maybe even Maxi Rodriguez will move on soon I think, but they've proved they can cope and recover post Torres, so I'm not sure how much of a problem that would be.
lildave3 Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Fener lost to Bursaspor 2-1. Guiza after 4 kinutes, but two goals in the last 5 minutes handed them defeat. Balls. <_< Oh, and the second one was a penalty in stoppage time. Volkan got booked so I presume he gave it away. Sivasspor play Besiktas today, massive clash.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Sivasspor play Besiktas today, massive clash. Oooooooooooooo. Keep Yildiz quiet, job done, I reckon.
MC Prussian Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Bochum - the German equivalent of Leicester, won at Monchengladbach yesterday. MASSIVE. I also admire what Koller has done as manager there... Limited means, yet always good for a surprise result.
lildave3 Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Oooooooooooooo. Keep Yildiz quiet, job done, I reckon. Yeah it's 1-0 Sivasspor.
Darkzzz_ Posted 22 March 2009 Author Posted 22 March 2009 Juve were special last night, great game, with Juve smashing Roma 4-1. Hopefully Barca can do the same tonight when they play, hopefully Madrid will slip up also, someone needs to slow them down. *hopeful*
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Dortmund beat Bremen 1-0. Besiktas / Sivasspor finished 1-1. Good weekend for my foreign teams.
Katy Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Toulouse v PSG tonight. I hope PSG aren't going to lose

Darkzzz_ Posted 22 March 2009 Author Posted 22 March 2009 Barca 4-0 Malaga at half time. This is dream football. Messi scores another special goal, Redknapp hit the nail on the head after the Liverpool game, Messi is a different class. I still fear the title will go to Madrid, because Barca for all their exciting attacking play, they still worry me at the back. I bet the second half will finish 4-3, they usually concede a few.
Katy Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Foooooooooooooooooooooooooooooksake! Paris St Germain are bottling it big time. Losing 2-0 at the moment.

Not tonight. 6-0 was the final score. Barca have now averaged THREE goals per game in La Liga. That's an awesome achievement.
Katy Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 It finished 4-1 to Toulouse in the end. It's all going wrong for PSG in the league. Not keen.

MARSEILLE ARE TOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2-0 win over Nantes, goals from Civelli and Brandao (who's really started to look impressive). First time in 10 years.

CosbehFox Posted 23 March 2009 Posted 23 March 2009 BUNDESLIGA UPDATE Hertha Berlin's lead at the top of Bundesliga was closed down to just one point as they went down to European hopefuls Stuttgart, 2-0. The three chasers of Bayern, Hamburg and Wolfsburg all took advantage whilst Hoff have now been written off. Bayern Munich's single goal victory over Karlschure was enough - Jose Sosa bagged at the Allianz Arena as Bayern fielded a number of squad players against Bundesliga's bottom team. Wolfsburg continued their heroic form, hammering Armenia Bielefeld 3-0 away from home - their presence as dark horses certainly makes things interesting with a side full of talent. Hamburg beat Schalke, 2-1 in Sunday's showcase game. Schalke lost once again at home as Guerrero's double was met with widescale booing and only a consaltion goal could be mustered. Hoff's woes continues as they had to come back from 2-1 down against Hannover at home to claim a point thanks to Wellington's strike six minutes from time. Bochum and Cologne were the major winners at the bottom - both beating relegation rivals. Bochum are now clear of the relegation zone after an awful first half of the season, they played Mochengladbach is a cup-tie atmosphere and Dennis Grote got the winner shortly after the break. It would be a great shame if Mochengladbach were to be relegated though - 50,000 stadium which averages 45,000 fans, the great days of the 70s makes their drop almost Newcastle-esque - the biggest problem is their best players all have their eye on playing for other clubs next season ie. Baumjohann at Bayern.
shen Posted 23 March 2009 Posted 23 March 2009 MARSEILLE ARE TOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not anymore though... Good win for Toulouse as well, rooting for Gignac and co.
Cat Burger Posted 23 March 2009 Posted 23 March 2009 MARSEILLE ARE TOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2-0 win over Nantes, goals from Civelli and Brandao (who's really started to look impressive). First time in 10 years. Mamadou FTW
