I can't understand how people don't want us in the prem. <_<

Don't want us in the Prem in it's current form to be more exact.

One simple personal reason for me is that I would no longer be able to afford to watch live games neither would I want to spend the expected extortionate sums in order to do so.

Even in Division 3 the match day prices are way over the top.

It's a really evil situation. Leicester fans still pay the price for the mismanagement in the recent past - the facilities, the stadium, the players. It's expensive, you know. Leeds fans are probably in the same boat.

You'd expect the club to keep the prices freezed in case of a promotion, but we all know what "they" are after.

The monnee.

Still, there is hope. Even in the Premiership. And I'm not being cynic.

You will be pleased to know a normal AFL game cost an Adult $20 to go to a game general admision which still gets you a non reserved seat 99 times out of a 100. and this is in world class stadiums to see the best teams play

$20 is about 8 pound

All well and good but do you have £32.5 million transfers making your game more exciting

No transfers just a draft system no free agents at all and a trade period, no money can change hands as there is a salary cap.

Drafts are great sitting around watching what future star you are likely to get.

How have I not been involved in this debate?!

In Man Cities place would be ace.

A club able to outbid chelsea and having robhino would be ace

So you'd enjoy it if precious away tickets weren't being handed out to the loyal fans, the like that got to Stockport, and the mid-week aways last season, and instead were being sold at ludacris prices to Asians.

That is what happened to Man City...Ask any of their fans who went to their aways, more & more Asians came through because of their numptie of an owner.

How about Man Utd giving away tickets to corporates instead of their hardcore? Whats that all about? Money!

Just imagine how gutted half of your were becasue we didn't get a ticket at Cheltenham, ok that was because their ground is shit & doesn't have a big capacity, but imagine its Man United, West Ham, Liverpool...And your ticket gets given to a tourist, I'd be ****ing pissed off bigtime.

I find it inconceivable that ANYONE who claims to be a supporter of our club would not wish to see us return to the highest level.

Lest we forget, we have competed successfully in the Premier League before, even winning trophies (something the likes of moneybags Man City and Newcastle have still yet to do), and that was when we had a ground which was far smaller than our current one. There is no reason why, with the right management and financial backing, we could not reach those heights again, especially as our fan base is considerably larger than that of many teams currently in the top flight.

In addition, the Way, which we still haven't yet paid for, has an infrastructure which needs Premier League revenue to maintain. Every season we spend outside the top flight takes us further away from financial stability. Neither Mandaric nor anyone else can sustain our current losses indefinitely.

While visits to Stockport and Cheltenham may intrigue and appeal to many now, I suspect that the novelty would disappear VERY quickly, if, Pearson forbid, we were to stay at this level for longer than one season.

If folk on here would prefer to see us host lower-league cloggers rather than some of the world's finest players, then in truth they are supporters of neither our team nor our sport.

The way some of you lot talk about how evil and corporate the Premier League is is ridiculous.

I think the only bit I can agree with is that the novelty of visiting dumps like Stockport will wear off after a season or so. I don't think people would be enjoying their days out if we hadn't of started the season so well...

I would definatly rather see us playing in the Championship. Its probably the 2nd Best league in the world, behind the Bundesliga.

I do not care for your fancy footballing skills, I want to enjoy my day out. If i wanted to see Some dotty willy puller doing step-overs, I could do that from the comfort of my living chair, for a slice of the price. Going to the game has always been what its about, I wouldn't fancy paying £30 ranging to £50 for some games these days if we got to the "Promised land". I don't even spend £30 on some whole trips at the moment, not just on the ticket. I don't want to see our ground filled with Mongoloids that have only come to see "Stevie G"and "Big Frank" because they've seen them on the TV and their "so amazing at football"

Enjoying yourself doesn't HAVE to depend on how we do on the field. I challenge anyone who went to the Tranmere & Fulham games to tell me they enjoyed Tranmere more, simply because we won. Winning instead everything, being the best isn't everything.

Oh and how about having all our games moved to a Sunday, Lunch time Saturday, or even better - A ****ing monday? So that half our away fans can't actually viably get there, let alone afford it.

Another thing I hate about the premiership, only recently started happening, those god awfull clappy things they've been giving out at a few games to raise the atmosphere. :frusty: Jesus Christ, If you can't clap with your own two hands you've got serius problems! Who needs some paper to do it?! Are we still 6 ****ing years old? Our home games are embarrasing enough as it is.

Lets take Pompey as an example, everyone uses them as a good example of how its possible to be sucsesfull in the prem after getting promoted...They recently banned Mr.Portsmouths Bell (Whatever you think of him & his chimes, you have to admit he's one hell of a supporter, and to ban his Bell on Health and safety grounds is crazy), He has now said he won't ever goto another Portsmouth game again, and rightly so. I could actually imagine our club banning Jobber, in some way shape or form. The atmosphere at Fratton Park, anyone remember our trips their in their lesser years? Cracking atmosphere. The Fratton end had one of the best atmospheres in the country. Now? Anyone see the game against manure? It was horse shit!

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to visit some of the big grounds as a Leicester fan, Stamford Bridge etc, but I'd take them in the cup anyday. Much more of an occasion.

Anyone who seriously thinks we'd be able to compete in the premiership in the next 10 years is delusional and a clown. Get real.

This debate will never die down with me, I'm sorry.

...why? :dunno:

< lots of angry stuff >

As I said I was in a very bad mood when I got into work. And then I read this thread going on about how evil and corrupt the Premier League is and thought to myself.. "do people not think of the bigger picture, do people not realise there's some heavy shit going on in the world and all they can get worked up about is football, the only thing they actually care about in this horrible world is football, not the kids in Africa or the poor in this country, bloody football".

I have sinced calmed down and put the comments from people on here in the right context.

And, for the most part, I agree.

Here you go again dishing out who can and who can't be a supporter, get a life.

I can't understand how people don't want us in the prem. <_<

Yes, being a decent Premiership is the dream etc, but I'm thinking realistic. We'd be fighting relegation and losing most weeks more than likely, that is not fun. My view is from my view as a supporter, for example going to matches and buying tickets. Of course I want to see the club win things and the like, but in the current climate it won't happen.

It is your opinion and you make some great points. It is, as I've said, a tough one. I would love us to rise up again, but at the same time, I'd hate for us to go through the last four years again after relegation.

The only premiership fans I actually envy are Villa, fantastic Chairman (Actually listens to their fans, even has his #2 post on message boards!!), the worlds best manager, an English team etc, No foreign supporters (Yet?!). European aspirations to.

I can't see another club in their position!

Aha.

I know what you mean though.

I was annoyed when I went to www.kidsinafricatalk.co.uk and www.poorpeopletalk.co.uk as not one person seemed to care about the plight of English football fans. Disgusting, those people really need to get some perspective.

You've got a point there. Wigan are similar, as are Everton. Hopefully in a few years we'll be like that.

I honestly would hate us to have foreign supporters (not like Soccerroo Fox, who knows everything about the club), I mean those that haven't got a clue and follow us because "we're doing well". I'd include English people in that as well.

I wouldn't use Wigan as a case, as they are vile, and just show how money orientated the game is these days. But yeah you have a point.

I've seen videos of Liverpool "fans" from Hong Kong, singing through the street after watching one of their friendlies out there. You actually have to laugh, or else you'd cry.

I'd like to piss this league and have built up a long term goal for what this club is trying to achieve and for it to mean something to the fans. Something the fans can identify with and have a connection with the players. I'm not overly fussed about the Premiership, but it would be nice to see us competing successfully in the Championship and have that feeling of being close to the promise land, even if the promise land isn't all it's cracked up to be.

One more thing - I'd like LCFC to be nearer the bloody motorway so I didn't have to suffer the absolute shite that is the road network of Leicester everytime I wish to drive to a match.

It's a nice walk to the train station.

We should move the match to Villa Park every time the bloody train gets a bus replacement service though :D

Too far away. I always miss the 5:15 train home and have to wait another hour.

Im going to sound like an idiot here as usual.

But leicester would make millions in the prem £30m+ for coming last, plus £10m or what ever it is parachute payments + another £10m from Sky+ sponsorship etc etc.

So surely ticket prices would be lower because we are making more money?

Milan can spend £30m in the transfer market and pay all the players wages and make it all back from all that shizzle.

Am i being stupid here lol

Just dont go to the away games if their too expensive
