Im going to sound like an idiot here as usual.

But leicester would make millions in the prem £30m+ for coming last, plus £10m or what ever it is parachute payments + another £10m from Sky+ sponsorship etc etc.

So surely ticket prices would be lower because we are making more money?

Milan can spend £30m in the transfer market and pay all the players wages and make it all back from all that shizzle.

Am i being stupid here lol

Just dont go to the away games if their too expensive

No you're being naive!

How have I not been involved in this debate?!

So you'd enjoy it if precious away tickets weren't being handed out to the loyal fans, the like that got to Stockport, and the mid-week aways last season, and instead were being sold at ludacris prices to Asians.

That is what happened to Man City...Ask any of their fans who went to their aways, more & more Asians came through because of their numptie of an owner.

What's this, a broadcast for the BNP? Why should the racial origins of their fans be an issue?

I would definatly rather see us playing in the Championship. Its probably the 2nd Best league in the world, behind the Bundesliga.

FFS, how much medication must you be on to write a sentence like this? :o:o:frusty:

The Championship is a weak league and getting worse. Look at the pisspoor teams that have been promoted from it in recent seasons, and all the mindnumbingly dull games we have been a part of (home and away).

Another thing I hate about the premiership, only recently started happening, those god awfull clappy things they've been giving out at a few games to raise the atmosphere.

I think you'll find we had them first. And very useful they were too. Remember Barnsley away the season before last?

Anyone who seriously thinks we'd be able to compete in the premiership in the next 10 years is delusional and a clown. Get real.

Just as well Martin O'Neill never thought like that, or the team that he built. Football is full of surprises - look at Man City yesterday.

This debate will never die down with me, I'm sorry.

Well it should, because you're wrong - VERY wrong! End of.

Well said. Can we close this senseless poll NOW?

Disagree quite heavily with this to be honest - there are some cracking matches, some 'pisspoor' teams can get promoted through hard work rather than it inevitably being the big clubs with the best players going up, some real quality players too - its just how shite we were (and how we made every match a rather turgid one) has clouded things.

I like the Championship. But in a dream world I'd like to see us be competitive in the Premiership, I guess.

This is the dream world where the Premiership is infinitely less predictable, like.

There are some quality matches in the lower leagues, but they're vastly outnumbered by the poor ones. It's not just us - ask most Derby, Forest or Cov fans and they'll tell you exactly the same thing.

Those who attempt to argue that we're in some spiritual sense better off for being out of the top flight are playing straight into the hands of Garry Cook and his ilk who want to see promotion and relegation scrapped altogether.

I dont think your qualified to say some one elses opinions are wrong.

lol

As for me, I'd much rather be competitive in the Championship than mauled week in week out in the Premiership.

But obviously I'd love for us one day to be competitive up there.

Bet Derby fans were thinking that when they got relegated from the Prem!!! :giggle:

Thas was a bit of apointless poll, of course we want to be in the Prem!

I think it's been a good poll, so we can see where everyone on here wants our club to be in the future.

Common sense tells you that everyone wants their team competing at the highest level possible, even though with the Premiership comes a lot of baggage, which has been well-documented by the other gentlemen.

I'd like Leicester to be competing near the top of a league structure where the Premier League as it is isn't the top level, if you see what I mean.

It's been debated in other threads but I'd be perfectly happy if the Big Four all pissed off to join some European Super League, and left the Football League as a single entity that could negotiate TV rights etc on behalf of the whole league structure instead of the top division creaming off 90% or whatever it is of the revenue.

I'm living in cloud cuckoo land, I know. It's ace though

At he moment, Championship. The thing is with the Prem, say if we were playing Arsenal and Max Gradel took on 3 players, did a nutmeg and then fired under the keepers belly into the net, he would be swallowed up by Man City or Spurs for £18.67 million squids a few weeks later and used as a bench warmer. It's a greed thing - if one player from a 'lesser' team does something amazing - need only be once! - against a big boy, then they come sniffing like a dog for a bitch in season. Lesser team tries to get replacement with the money and revenue from Prem TV coverage, but it doesn't work out and it's back down relegated again, then the team further gets nibbled ribs in the summer window by players wanting to leave because they're depressed and feel they're 'higher' material.

I have said Premiership... but only because I want us to be at the height of English football... yes, winning is great and being able to see us play good football makes a real change but is (hopefully when) we get promoted this year, we'll be back in the Championship where last season, we were NOT playing good football... so are we saying that we want to stay in this division?

Hopefully Pearson will keep it going and we'll be able to play this kind of football in all leagues but surely if we can play it in this division and the Championship (next year :)) then being in the Premiership and slowly building up a decent team and momentum would be good for us wouldn't it? We could surprise a few people, stay up and then really start work from there. Look at Sunderland, hardly anyone is even considering them for relegation this year and they were promoted only a few seasons back. Portsmouth? They went up with us a few years back with Milan at the top... maybe, just maybe, if we can get back to the Premiership, we might just be able to stay there and push on to European football once again.

COME ON CITEH!!! :D:scarf:

That said... we might want to concentrate on this season first... just because we started well doesn't mean we will end up doing well come the end of the season... I have a Covscum supporter as a friend and he kindly reminded me that last year, Coventry were top of the Championship near the start of the season and look what happened to them...

Still, I'm sure we won't let it go... a bit of momentum is building and the team spirit is gaining... things are looking up! :D

I try. :sweating:

They still turned up, even though they were getting gubbed every week.

And most of them are still going to games.. :o

So in a ideal world then getting to the championship play off final every year and losing is as good as it gets

Winning 1-0 at old trafford , 2-0 at stamford bridge , getting a good result at anfield and villa park most years were great years for me and atmospheres were 10 fold on what we are seeing at the minute , that was a peak for me being a city fan , i hope some of you younger fans get the chance to see us in a similar fashion because i tell you what at the time i didnt really appriciate how good it felt , i just expected us to win at those grounds for the rest of my life <_<
