Ohh.

Which is an area in Northern Spain that's people want there own state.

The Basque Seperatists are a terrorist organisation who try to obtain this through violence and bombings.

Bilbao is in this region, and whether it be for club history or to not piss off the locals, they only allow(ed) Basque players to play for their club.

Ahhh I see now.

Cheers.

Wow. I just finished my first season in the Prem with city in 7th place (56 points). Things weren't going THAT well up until the January transfer window. But I changed tactics (to a 4-3-1-2 with 3 central midfielders) and played very defensively, and it worked a treat! I brought in superb bargains during the window (Hugo Viana for 95k, Valter Birsa on a free and Mascio for £1,1mil) and suddenly from getting beaten against any superior team, I drew Chelsea in the FA Cup, and beat them on penos in the replay, and subsequently beat Man U 2-1 in the next round! :D Had a fantastic run of 5 wins in a row in the league and sat pretty in the top half. Drew 2-2 against Everton at home in the final league game after being down 0-2 and just now realised I had qualified for Europe, when the message "Home-grown players for EURO Cup" popped up...

Happy days!

Oh and Teixeira was a bloody waste of £13 mil!!

The step up from league 1 to championship is a killer.

Drawn 2 and lost 3 in my first 5. I thought my team was well good.

Definitely. I've risen through the leagues with relative ease with Hinckley, but the Championship is very, very tough.

Well after a very eventful July + August i got the majority of my targets, although i had to fork out more than i wanted to for Richards.

At the start of the Summer i forgot i had DeJong coming in on a free transfer and he will fill the role that Tim Cahill left who i sold to Man City for 10M

Danny Welbeck was the next player in, who i signed on another free transfer and he replaced the departing Michael Owen who i made a 9M profit on selling him back to Newcastle

With people buzzing around Stewart Downing i decided to jump ship and run and sold him to Arsenal for 14.75M a 11.55M profit, Downing who could only play on the left wing was replaced with Ashley Young who can play all over midfield who i purchased for 16M.

Kun Agureo was my next signing for 29.5M, and only time will tell if he is a good buy, first time playing with this fella and from some of the prices i have seen banded around its a good price.

On deadline day after having bids of up to 32M rejected for Richards i finally got an offer accepted 16M upfront and 10M over 2 years, with this signing completed i feel that my squad has the strength and depth needed to push for the title. It definitely has the fire power.

Although to to compensate for my new signing i have had to alter my tactics a little and i have now moved to a 4-4-2 diamond, Kranjcar is still in the free role behind the front 2 and De Jong will do all the sweeping up, while i'll still have Arteta & Young crossing over on the wings :)

I don't know how I didn't spot him earlier. Was checking through Levadia Talinn's team for Kaimar Saag, Taijo Teniste and the Puri brothers (Eino doesn't exist? and Sander's ok). Thankfully Anier had only gone to Finnish football so it was easy to get him  He's a wonderkid on mine now and got voted Young Player of the Season in the Prem in my first season! Another recommendation (if you can afford it) are Mascio (M C) and Chicherin (D RLC). The latter is quite some player!!

On a different note, I'm in a luxurious dilemma. Do I choose to buy Defour for £10.75mil or Witsel for £12mil?

These are my main transfer targets (got around £23 mil still to spend, +/- a couple of mil depending on outgoing transfers):

I'm in love with Sporting's team.

If ever I'm a team with £20 to spend in the first season, from now on, I'm going straight for Veloso and Moutinho. Any spare dollar is going on Romagnoli and Adrien.

What a midfield.

Is it possible to move teams to different leagues / countries? Like could you make a database with the Old Firm in Scotland? Or the Portugese top 3 in Spain? That'd interest me for a season or so.

& yeah it's all about the Flora youngsters. Might not have the same potential but I rate Juha Hakola, too. What level will he go to?

Now managing Calais RUFC in the French National. Enjoying it loads but it's my most full-on experience yet as I didn't have an assistant manager (Well I sacked the piss poor one and just managed to get a guy in), I have been doing tactics per game, signing freebies, keeping the ressies fresh blah blah. Full-on involvement - I'll tackle the training once we are some points clear of relegation zone. Got Mario Licka! But he's pants.

Signed some Iraqi/French 36 year old who does a reasonable job in the middle and the keeper is good for the level (the only remaining member of the French Cup Runners-Up team).

Enjoyed it enough for me to considering going Calais in late May to watch them play.

Got bugger all chance of signing them though!

My brother won the Champions League with em on FM2008. They have some good players and extraordinary youth system (as do Sociedad).

This Championship is killing me! I reckon a change of formation is needed. Might try that one you posted Finnegan, if it's not the formation I use already.

Edit: The formation is different but is there an away version? The one you linked us to Finegan is very attacking and could catch me out away from home when, from what I've found, teams are more attacking.
