Apparently Viviano turns out great in some games. Otherwise Asenjo, Carrizo, Ochoa. Leo Franco a good and cheap alternative. De Sanctis is free after a season and very solid. One of my favourites, Danut Coman is free from the start, but has a ban until December 1. Still, he's very good and won't cost much in wages. Silviu Lung Jr is an extremely cheap future star. In my current multiplayer game, Renan is doing great for my Valencia team. And obviously Yohann Pelé... Hope that's enough suggestions ;)

Brilliant thanks Shen.

Think i may go for Mandanda and Fiorillo unless i can get Asenjo. But he's just moved clubs on the update.

Drew with Germany and Russia in the WC so anything can happen. We'll see.

Gonna pick up a second NG with my mate - El Clasico.

I'm Barca and am looking for a world class keeper. I'm used to being lower level teams so haven't really bothered with the world class players. Am i right in thinking my best bets are still Lloris, Mandanda, Adler, Akinfeev, Kameni, Neuer?

Any better ideas?

Impressive! Still will be tough but good luck.

As for keepers... Joe Hart is amazing. I like to buy young keepers and work them up but he is already quality and only gets better... nice to have a bit of home grown talent too.

EDIT: Also, just a side note, if you are buying keepers from abroad, especially young ones, make sure they can speak English as otherwise they are liable to start missing home and being unhappy. Another reason why I like to buy English or British players... it's just easier on the team in general.

Won't do his keeper much good speaking English in Barcelona. :P

Ah, fair point... forgot that.

You get what I mean though... make sure a young keeper can speak the language of the main bulk of your backroom staff or otherwise you'll have trouble implementing your tactics on them and training will suffer too.

Not necessarily true. A few non-native speaking players rarely hurts. Nearly all my keepers start out not knowing the main language of the club, yet they often get good or even great ratings anyway. Contofalsky in the last game, De Sanctis, Renan, Coman, Carrizo in this game :dunno:

What I HAVE found out recently, is that it can seriously harm the team if you clear out too much too fast. I was Frankfurt in a network game, doing great with a shit squad halfway into the season and got rid of a lot of deadwood and overvalued players in the January transfer window. I sold Amanatidis for a stunning £4,2 mil, but it completely shattered the team chemistry (it was below 10% for months and months!). I consequently only won 2 games for the whole of the spring season resulting in a disappointing 10th place after lying 4th.

Well yes, there is the chance that they'd be fine anyway... but it's very risky taking on a youngster and them not being able to converse with the team... t'was just a thought though... either way, it's good to have options and differing opinions to base transfers around. :)

With Wales at them moment unbeaten in World Cup Qualifiers so far ... Azerbaijan 3-1, Russia 2-0, Liechtenstein 4-0 and Germany 2-1 ... just lost to Denmark 3-1 in a freindly though.

How did that striker end up doing, the guy you paid 60 odd million for?

Every manager in the Prem cites "having a poor relationship/opinion with/of me" as a reason for rejecting a bid. Petty gits.

As an aside, if I fail to beat Denmark I'm out of the 2016 world cup at the group stages >_<

Another gripe, I've just won the champions league and I still can't sign a 5th scout lol

I have fook all money left cos i've spent everything on Aguero (55m) and Walcott (20m) Witsel (6m)

Sold Puyol (20m) Marquez (15m) Henry (10m) Xavi (31.5m) and im still skint!

Desperately need a keeper and a centre back and possibly an AMC for pennies worthy of playing for Barca.

Suggestions please.

Started one with Man City as i love money!

First season came 4th in Prem and won the Uefa Cup, but have just left them in December in my 2nd season as Inter offered me the job - they are currently 8th in Serie A, so i fancied the challenge to take them back to the top and they have also given me 105m to spend in January.

My Man City team when i left was:

Mandanda

Azpilicueta / Luiz / Chiellini / Bridge

Srna / Dzagoev / Veloso / Zhirkov

Vagner Love / Aguero

Think i may go back and raid them lol

Just started the next season with Inter and my current team is: (4-4-2 Diamond - Messi and Ronaldo on the wings)

Julio Cesar

Maicon Samuel Chivu Maxwell

Cambiasso

Messi Ronaldo

Mata

Benzema Ibrahimovic

Other players: Carrizo, Zanetti, Santon, Materazzi, Cordoba, Vieira, Bolzoni, Moutinho, Stankovic, Pjanic, Higuain, Paloschi

Best thing you can do in that situation would probably be to send them out on loan and bring them back after 6 months as then they'll be getting games, you won't have to pay the wages, they may improve over that time and they won't get miserable at not playing... on the other hand, if they are big big players, it could upset them being sent out on loan... so it's up to you.

Go on holiday for a week and sometimes the assistant manager magically sorts that kind of thing out for you.

£62 million, yes. He's absolutely brilliant. The most complete striker I've ever had. In the league (aka History -> Career stats) he's scored 60 goals in 75 appearances, made 22 assists and won 21 MotM awards, with an average rating of 7.51 over two seasons. Most importantly he's scored the crucial goals in nearly all the top games I won.

As said before, Coman would do well for you, but he's only eligible to play from December 1 onwards. As for centreback, Bayal Sall is another suspended player who's way undervalued because of it. Always available. Other relatively cheap DCs are Papa Gueye (sometimes shit), Burdisso or Cabral

why the f*ok is it that when youre winning, the last 10 minutes and injury time are filled with opposition chances often leading to a goal when they are still playing a fo*king 4-5-1, but when you need to get back in the game you play a really attacking side the game just pisses the time away!

really annoying! :angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry::angry:

Looked but couldn't find him, settled for Davide De Gea in the end.

Playing Abidal at CB atm and am ravaged by injuries. Unbeaten still though some how 10 games in. Although a 1-1 draw with Athletic was not a high point.

Wigan lie bottom in the prem (2016) with 9 points.

9 games to go. Can they beat Derby's record?

thats nothing, i had a save where oxford had somehow come up to the premiership, they had a premiership quality defence but their best striker was leon best and he was about 36. they finished on 1 point if i remember rightly!

I deleted my City game a while ago so decided to start another, I'm 28 games into the season 21 wins and 7 draws conceding only 16 goals and haven't looked like losing, We're going to go all season I can feel it.

Just sold Kisnorbo in January to get funds for Lewandowski but he can't get a look in atm with Fryatt banging them in. lol

My first ever game on FM09 was done with Leeds.

Gained promotion from league one in the first season.

Second season finished 13th in the championship.

Third season promoted to the premiership after finishing second. Pretty pleased, taking a massive club back to the big time!!!

That's probably down to tactics. With a little attention to where your team fails (presuming you're on par or better than the opposition) you can correct it which will improve your chances, e.g. are your wingers being starved of possession, are you giving the ball away too easily, are you exploiting the opposition's weakness enough etc. The same applies to tactical responses to the opposition.

That said, FM sometimes does you over. But that happens in real life as well, so I guess that's all well and good ^_^

I'm guessing you're not playing with a full database then? Is De Gea your first choice keeper then?
