Pearson Names Same Starting XI

Posted on: Tue 30 Sep 2008

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson has kept faith with the same XI who started Saturday's 1-0 home victory over Hartlepool United for tonight's League One showdown with Colchester United at the new Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Jack Hobbs, who replaced the rested Michael Morrison at the heart of the Foxes defence at the weekend, keeps his place alongside Aleksandar Tunchev as does winger Nicky Adams, who will start on the right flank in front of Kerrea Gilbert.

Matty Fryatt and Steve Howard, who have scored 10 goals between them so far this term, continue up front.

The only change is on the bench where the fit-again Max Gradel replaces teenager Craig King.

Colchester are also unchanged after their 4-3 victory at Tranmere on Friday night and include former Fox Matt Heath in their ranks.

City: Martin, Gilbert, Hobbs, Tunchev, Powell, Adams, Oakley ©, King A, Dyer, Howard, Fryatt. Subs: Henderson, Morrison, Gradel, Berner, Wesolowski.

United: Gerken, White, Jackson, Reid, Hammond, Platt, Izzet, Yeates, Heath, Perkins, Borrowdale. Subs: Coyne, Cousins, Vernon, Wordsworth, Elito.

Referee: D Whitestone

Starting with 10 men will surely tell on us.

First league game I've missed since Southampton away, .

Apart from Barnsley, as I was out of the country, it's the first game I've missed since then too.

Referee from Northamptonshire. Last time he refereed Colchester he missed a blatant penalty that Colchester should have received - let's hope he doesn't feel the need to make amends for it!!
