Father Ted Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 Come on Nige - open your eyes and see that the ginge is not up for the job. Hendo hadn't conceded 1 goal and he gets dropped. Martin is the downfall to our great defensive record of the first few games! In my eyes, there would have been a greater chance of Hendo saving both of their goals yesterday and the inexperience of Martin has really showed. NO COMMUNICATION, HE CAN'T KICK A BALL, POOR REACTION TIME AND INEXPERIENCE. For the first goal - why did he jump? All he had to do was stand up to the defender and on the second goal, how can you get a WHOLE hand on the ball and still not save it!?!?! HENDO FOR THE WAY!
Samilktray Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 Havent seem him yet, but is he really that bad that you'd prefer Paul Henderson to him.
Asha Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 Havent seem him yet, but is he really that bad that you'd prefer Paul Henderson to him. The first Walsall goal just epitomizes him completely. Dodg-ee Kee-per.

dandannieldanok Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 Havent seem him yet, but is he really that bad that you'd prefer Paul Henderson to him. Yes, as I said in the match ratings thread I'd have backed Henderson to have saved both of the goals yesterday. Hendo should never have been dropped - simple as that! True, still can't believe it now, yet to concede a goal.
Ashley Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 I've been saying this for sometime to the people I go football with. Please put Henderson in on saturday.
Lovejoy Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 Henderson is no Gigi Buffon, but his shot stopping is highly underrated imo.
Benjani Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 Having a confident and commanding keeper definitely get's the rest of the team more assured and confident themselves, just look at Spurs with Gomez! The only thing I can think of is that Liverpool have said he must play in every League game he is available?
potter3 Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 Didn't Pearson supposedly tell Henderson that he has absolutely no confidence in him and he won't play him if he can help it?
chrisfox Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 If henderson doesn't start against the Cobblers something is very wrong! maybe there is a clause in the loan deal with liverpool that says Martin has to play in a certain amount of games over his loan period, and Pearson is gettting them out of the way!!
Alexikokopops Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 Henderson is no Gigi Buffon, but his shot stopping is highly underrated imo. No it isn't, everyone bangs on about it anytime they mention Henderson as though it isn't a basic requirement of a goalkeeper! Anyway, I'd rather Henderson in than Martin, he's the lesser of two evils. I'm thoroughly bored with discussing it though, it seems there's at least one thread that descends into this discussion every week.
Corky Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 I actually agree now. Henderson should start on Saturday.

Darkzzz_ Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 Seems like a lovely fella but when it comes to it he is not any better than Henderson. I thought Hendo was superb for us when he got his chance last season. He is a decent GK on his day. I am not saying he is the best and I am not saying Martin is totally useless, Obviously he is just starting his career. But it would make sense for Hendo to be between the sticks.
demon_dog Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 Fully agree with everything that's been said. Felt that for their first goal last night that the keeper was to blame, not so sure about the second one though. Would blame the defence for that, ball watching and leaving Ricketts to run in unmarked. Still feel that it would be better to have Hendo between the sticks. Maybe Pearson sees things differently, he could always borrow my glasses!
AmericanScott Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 I sent a text to BBC Leicester a while back asking why Nigel is starting martin in goal and not our Hendo. Seen Hendo walking around the Shires yesterday with his missus.
Munzie Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 If henderson doesn't start against the Cobblers something is very wrong!maybe there is a clause in the loan deal with liverpool that says Martin has to play in a certain amount of games over his loan period, and Pearson is gettting them out of the way!! Liverpool would not let their player go out on loan just to warm the bench. I would suggest that the loan clause dictates that he plays in most if not all matches. If I were a Manager, I would be disappointed that my loan player is not getting match practice and fitness if not starting week in week out. It's different for out-field players given the work rate required. I would suggest that Hendo will only get cup action for the forseeable future. Ending the loan deal early could be another option but would leave us short of cover.
ousefox Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 why change the keeper unless he is conceding or playing badly which hendo wasn't
kyleolly Posted 22 October 2008 Posted 22 October 2008 if there is a clause in the loan deal either get a striker to crop him in training or send him back to scouse land i would have more confidence in clayton ince
