Frenzied Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Quite ironic that we had one, and then shipped him out, only for him to return home a crock He would be a good replacement but his injury problems mean he would only play about a fifth of games.
Bert Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 I don't understand why Kish didn't play there last night. I'm still pissed off, these fookers best put a display on for us on Saturday.
Tilley Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 I don't understand why Kish didn't play there last night. I'm still pissed off, these fookers best put a display on for us on Saturday. Is Kish fit now?
Bert Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Is Kish fit now? I know he certainly travelled, along with Ashley Chambers.
The People's Hero Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 All I'm going to say is that our central midfield might as well not have been there and that Martin is a fuc king disgrace. We should send him back. NOW.
Wycombe Fox Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 All I'm going to say is that our central midfield might as well not have been there and that Martin is a fuc king disgrace. We should send him back. NOW. Send him back? We shouldn't even have brought the ****er back. Should've left him in Brighton.
lcfc_jme Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Firstly the support was great and I got to meet some FT members at last - AOWW, Katy, 'The' Ched, Joe., LilDave, Syston Fox - anyone else? Yeah, me! <_< With regards the game - Livid. Absolutely livid. How we can have such contrasting fortunes in the same game is completely ridiculous. We were the architects (sp?) of our own downfall yesterday. First half, players seemed keen. Seemed hungry. Wanted to be involved. Wanted to win. Scored four goals I think, had two disallowed but the view at the Withdean doesn't help understand why. All is well and good you might think. Ha! Penalty turned down in the second half, and from then on it was the same old away-day Leicester, sitting back and inviting pressure. From then on, we were shit. And we got progressively worse. No response from the players after them pulling one back. Or even equalising. It was just about as abject a second half as I've seen us play. Unimpressed. They were a MUCH better side when Savage went off. Helped by our incompetence, obviously. And for all but three of our players to applaud us at the end, I think it is absolutely fucking disgusting. It's not the shortest of trips on a fucking cold Tuesday night when many have work in the money. It was a bitter night and we were treated like a bunch of salmons by some overpaid, undercaring pieces of sh*t. Regardless of my feelings about Fryatt's football ability, I would like to thank him and Chrissy P for showing their appreciation to everyone who made the trip. Some kudos also goes to Kisnorbo, who applauded us but only after he was torn a new one by a couple of fans at the front when it looked as though he was heading straight down the tunnel. Oh, and thanks also to 'teh for making my journey on Fox Travel hugely enjoyable, and also for dropping me off at home as well. Yes then!
Wycombe Fox Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Yeah, me! <_< Sorry mate Good to meet you too!
lcfc_jme Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Sorry mate Good to meet you too! Good to meet you as well. Spot on with the Moby thing, by the way.
SussexFox Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Nothing but stick today living where i do well pissed off! 2-0 and we fcuked it up what an embarrasment
Ross-Kemp Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Just got back in home, after leaving for Brighton at 11:07 yesterday. I can't be arsed to read the whole thread so apoligies in advance if I go over whats been said previously. First point, is that National rail are robbing fookers, £35.50 kids return, disgusted. Second point, was the fooking weather, went for a nice stroll down Brighton pier, and it starts hailing, raining, everything. Not happy. Then the match ticket was £20, how they can charge that, I will never know, the ground is shit. Championship teams don't charge that much, and there facilities are 1000x better than that fooking thing. The food, was poor, it was on par with fulham . The teams performance was poor. Gradel didn't look interested, nor did Kisnorbo. And the fact that after 90 minutes of shit, only 3 players had the bottle to come over and clap. Kisnorbo, Fryatt and Powell. Not even pearson On a lighter note, good support last night, made a good atmosphere, although, the 4 boys behind me, please, never attend a Leicester match again, 90 minutes, of 4 teenagers singing about gays, boyfriends etc.... Good to see a few FT's about, lcfc_jme, LD3, Ched and Bert (i think) amongst others, the flag looked spot on,first time I had seen it close up.
marbelladave Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Disapointed with this result. Does not even BEGIN to cover it!

I thought Gradel had a reasonable game. £35.50 kids return, you were done, book in advance. PS How old are you, or were you blagging it?
Hackneyisblue Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 I thought Gradel had a reasonable game.£35.50 kids return, you were done, book in advance. PS How old are you, or were you blagging it? Just checked on thetrainline, it was cheaper to get single tickets from Leicester to London and back and then a return from london to brighton (total £37) than it was to go direct from Leicester to Brighton return. Madness

He needs to go back to basics IMO, and we was going to do cheap singles (£18 in total) but there wasn't any cheap tickets left And i'm 17 fella, I get all my tickets as kids.
DanTheFox07 Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Think Team`s have realised that we can be beaten and we aren`t going to be the pace setters in this league, I have to say pearson`s tatics weren`t the best, playing a defender in centre midfield and leaving mattock out at the expense of powell? show`s we are lightweight in the centre of the park without Oakley, obviously andy king is a good player but easy for a player like savage to get off the ball. Adams obviously isn`t one for now which is no good considering we could have done with an experienced centre midefielder and if kishishev isn`t good enough to fill in when we have an injury then why do well still have him on our wage bill. My other worry is that apart from fryatt and dyer where are the goals in our team gradel hasn`t scored and got 11 or more for bournemouth last term in a weaker team so is pearson playing him to his strength`s? Dickov in my opinion is not the answer, hasn`t exactly been any special in the games he has played and at his age only gonna be a sub with howard/fryatt partnership preffered. Dj campbell is obviously injured but again I don`t see him as being first team and Again never been that big a threat in front of goal for us. I think that we desperatley need clemence back but I don`t know anything about how long he is due to be out as he is having an operation after consulting a specialist? If i was pearson I would seriously be asking Mandaric to use his contacts to get a Cm Midfielder in and then come january we need a striker and to start getting rid of players like campbell which probably won`t happen as he payed ridicolous money for him and to get rid of somemore dead out of squad.
syston_fox Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 Wank day was topped off by the result. Some great banter before and after the game and the one word sentence is the way forward! Livid!
Legend_in_blue Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 A decent central midfield player has been required for years. We've got through quite a few since the days of Izzet and Lennon, but no-one has ever cut it - at any level. Clemence is not the answer, although you could argue it is, considering the league we are now in - but it's a case of wait and see 'til he's fit. Oakley was playing premiership football last season, but hasn't exactly shone out particularly in many league games. He certainly doesn't take control as much as I'd expect. Then there's King, who will be very hit and miss, and is proving to be exactly that. Plus he's too lightweight. We need some hard nutter in midfield who's about 6ft tall, who's not afraid to put themselves about a bit and ruffle up a few feathers. This might then give more licence to Oakley to get forward and look more active in the centre of the park. At the moment, he fades in and out. The reason we're not comfortably winning games is because we don't boss teams about in the midfield area. We haven't got that type of player in the team. Fans criticise the strikers, but for me, the midfield is, and always has been, the underlying problem. We've got quality down the left in Dyer, and potential quality down the right in Gradel, and they suffer and the strikers suffer because the central midfield pairing is too weak. Bring in a solid central midfielder who can bully the opposing midfield players out of it.

I don`t think he is the answer long term but im talking about a short term solution for us being lightwieght in the middle which is clear, baffles me now why he let weso go on Loan and now he`s got a broken ankle silly if u ask me. Think this is Pearson`s first true test on metal as a manager, must get three points on sat and needs to get us on a run at home, everyteam that is successful performs at home and we don`t!
Simi Posted 29 October 2008 Posted 29 October 2008 When they say football is a game of two halves they really are right aren't they? I thought we started slowly but as the game went on we applied ourselves well all over the pitch and we seemed very efficient in what we were doing. We got a fully deserved goal after Howard's dissalowed one and we looked comfortable, Brighton caused us no threat. Going in at half time 2-0 I was quite impressed and thought if we could grab a third early in the night we could go on and win well, bringing back some much needed confidence. However, that wasn't to be. The second half performance was an absolute disgrace on almost everyones part. We lost EVERY battle in the centre of midfield, King and Berner couldn't muster up the courage to tackle and close down which led to almost all of our problems. Constantly backing off and letting them come at us and shoot and it cost us. Then, as has happened at a few games away from home this season, we lose a goal and panic. Huddersfield and Oldham being fine examples. We lost all our morals of passing the football and insisted on Brighton attacking us, and they did. Once again King and Berner backed off and they scored after a constant period of pressure. The lack of discipline throughout the team was quite frankly amazing. Stupid fouls, long balls and careless marking. After the second half performance we got exactly what we deserved from that, **** all.

I trust your views more than most (apart from when it comes to a certain centre forward), but is it just a minor slip and lack of professionalism which we'll get over sooner than later, or are should we really be concerned about our current situation? I'm pissed off by last night, but I think we'll come good in the end. We've lost 2, Leeds have lost 4, and Scunny and Millwall have lost 3 each.

King is not a Tiatto and we never got anywhere the top of the table with Tiatto. King is a pass and move player who needs pass and move players around him to show up at his best. But, gradually, we've moved away from pass and move. With Kisnorbo at centre-back, Hobbs at right back and the virtually unmentioned Berner alongside King in midfield, our collective impetus is nothing like what it was. When we did pass and move and we did close down quickly as a unit, we won matches and collected points conssistently. Now we are shipping goals compared to previously and becoming disjointed.
